"Sharp and focused boardgames that excel at few mechanics are better than big convoluted complex games"
I love this! that's usually my mantra when picking up games! Could that be a cool top 10? "Small games that execute super well on a specific mechanic"?
PS: great video, it's great to get to know you and your taste more, and thus, adding value to your opinion and reviews :)
    Keep on the good work!

    Really enjoying all your content.
    Next questions:
    * Have you ever tried designing your own game?
    * which ingredients make up your favourite games?
    * what is your experience and thoughts on Boardgamearena?
    * when it’s your birthday/ Christmas, do you give your family a boardgame wish list?
    * what’s your cap on the quantity of games in your collection?
This is not a question; but I would love to see your opinions when you make your series on games designers…
Kramer & Keisling willl be most interesting- particularly as to HOW you choose to do this.
    Eg.
    1 Kramers top 10
    2 Keisling’s top 10
    3 combined K& K top 10
    Thanks
Hope to see you at expo on Friday.

Q1 - What are the key differences you feel / see when you play a modern Euro game and a game designed in late 90’s or early 20’s (focusing mechanics, art, game play, production quality etc). What are your views on how the board games have evolved over the years? Q2 - What are your must have expansions for board games (ex. Pantheon for 7 Wonders duel or so)? Q3 - Will you ever play a 3 or 4 player game of Catan - if yes with any specific expansions and any house rules?

I agree with you entirely re the City Collection. I've always thought that The Oracle of Delphi would really lend itself to a more premium edition - I also think it deserves to be more popular than it is.

Recently acquired Bora Bora second-hand and I really like it, feel no need for City Collection version. I do have both Amsterdam and Hamburg but wish I could get my hands on Bruges instead of ugly, icon-complex Hamburg.

You don't play/like heavier games anymore due to likely needing to re-learn it all over again every time it comes out... but if you had to pick one to be what some people have coined a "lifestyle" game, and you'd have good gaming partners to play it with, what would be your choice/candidates for that? Ex. Spirit Island, Mage Knight, Guards of Atlantis II, etc.
Edit: Though... now I realize people sometimes call "lifestyle" games their most expensive game, like MtG or Too Many Bones :P

What’s your favorite mechanism not counting the big ones ? Ie worker placement, deck building, polyomino, etc

Is there a mechanism you enjoy but would like to see distilled into a small game? For me its "Auction: Dutch Priority", like in The Speicherstadt/Spyrium. This is in contrast, for example, to how Hanamikoji is a small game with a clean and distilled representation of "I cut, you choose."

Hello, this is Sako, i have a question for your upcoming episode: in your opinion, what is the reason behind this massive increase in board game industry over the last 5 years, we see production of games in a year more than what has been published over a decade, despite the intense progress in technology and video games, is it because of the social media and increased number of youtube reviewers? Or the covid that led people to stay at home with internal leisures, or people in general are more open to board games? What is your insight on this matter

Thoughts on games with crazy high scores? I think getting to 200+ is excessive for most games

What are your thoughts on the best size for a collection of games for “average people”? I know some do 20-50 but others are up to 500+

Coffe Roaster has THE worst Rulebook I’ve ever seen. Presumably translated verbatim from Japanese so it made zero sense. Sold it before I even played it.
