There are players who only want to play 3 click. So are you saying that they shouldn’t be able to play all of the game? Yeah, I don’t see this happening. The easier approach is to use what they already have in 2K23 - you can set which swing type is allowed for society events. So use that system in Ranked tournaments so there is one for 3 click and one for stick swing.
Yeah I’m pumped for this game as well! I can’t wait! Just from the announcement trailer and what we know regarding the features of this game, I can tell they put in a lot of work into this game and looks like it will worth the wait! I’m pumped that the 3 majors (not including the masters) are able in the game! That is a huge feature to add. When I saw the standard cover before they release any info/trailer, I had a strong feeling majors would be added. The Tiger woods celebration at the bottom of the cover was when Tiger Woods won the 2008 US Open at Torrey Pines and it was also the cover of TWG 2010 where the majors debuted in the EA Tiger woods franchise
I’m just hoping that they nail the ranked tour, make it a level playing field. PvP is what keeps a game going after the initial content cycle and keeps games alive.
I’ll wait for the reviews. However. Any improvements will need to be impressive. Took a lot of time to get to LV50 & current fittings. Plus, getting a swing down! Never invested in the golf balls or attire.
The graphics definitely look significantly better as the comparison between 23 and 25 shows. Whether this is due to an upgraded engine or whether they are just getting more out of the existing engine or this is a reflection of a game focused on current Gen only, I don’t know. The output though looks good if we accept their statement these are all in game graphics or utilizing the in game engine. We will see when it comes out.
If they nail the graphics (which anecdotally look like a big step up), the new swing and shot mechanics, and the ranked tournaments, it is definitely worth it.
They won’t separate them from ranked match play. So get ready to watch them hit laser shots to within a few feet or less of the pin on almost every shot. Sucks to think you’re getting good to only get killed by a stinky 3 clicker.

Most of them are just that good. I play in the same society as Wo Be Killin and have watched his stream. He is just good at the game. 🤷🏼♂️ Every now and again I can get close to him but normally he’s about 5 shots better than me. I use a standard Xbox controller.
From what we've seen of EvoSwing, it looks a lot like MLB The Show's Pinpoint pitch mode. Yet, at the same time, the vertical motion reminds me of Golden Tee- Probably the better of the two comparisons. Golf game, and more similar (though in this case, it's a stick instead of a trackball) to how it actually functions. Genuinely hope it's balanced alongside standard/button swing (As far as I know, in The Show, Meter (button presses only) and Pinpoint have similar, if not the same, break areas on perfect throws- Easier methods, all the way down to Classic, get penalized with larger break areas) or, as said, has separate queues at least for ranked play. Maybe adding incentive (like higher XP) for using/learning EvoSwing/stick would also help?
I'm still playing 2K21. I've never played 2K23 mainly because of the reviews and I can't afford to waste money. I'll be looking to move to a newer updated golf game but as you mentioned about the pay to win, if 2K25 is in trend with what some other gamer devs are doing such as BO6 I want be interested. I'm an old man and I desire quality and realism that is solely about the sport of golf.
What reviews? 2K23 is a solid game and definitely a step up over 21. Let’s see on 25. The upgrades look great and I have some faith that the ranked play will be on a level playing field.

It appears these gaming companies are milking every penny from consumers with esthetics/skins while completly ignorning updating the quality funcutionality of the product. As far as 2K21, I'd continue playing it but there's a message at the start of the game that says as of October 30, 2025, PGA Tour 2K21 online game modes and functionality will no longer be available. So, I'll be in the hunt for a good quality Golf Game to play before then. Thank you for the feedback!

Weekly and Daily Ranked Tournaments - new for 25 Crossplay - new for 25 New swing mechanics - debatable if needed but they did announce within this that there are new shot types which is new for 25 Graphics - did you see the comparison between 23 and 25? Even if you ignore 25’s uplift, if go back to TGC19 and compare it to 23 if is a significant uplift in the swing and course graphics Expanded skill trees - personally I don’t like these in the game, but for those that do this was only introduced into the games with 23 Equipment progression - again I’m not a fan (is this anti glazing?) but for those that do this was only introduced into the game with 23 Pre tournament challenges - new feature which to be fair they stole off EA Top Golf - new in 23 Ranked matches - new in 23 Now you might not like HB games but you have to take a very narrow view to say there are no new features in the game each year.
I’m so over the grinding and powering up. Just give me a PGA ready player and let me play tournaments. I want nothing to do with powering up, buying new clubs, balls, apparel, etc.
Amen! Didn’t need any leveling in the PGA games for Sega, and I can’t even tell you how many hours me and my dad played on those. Just give me realistic scoring and difficulty combined with lots of stat tracking and history keeping.
this is exactly why 23 felt so stale like i grinded to top 100 leaderboard got to top 80 but after that everything just felt stale and not worth playing. plus i think they need to change ranked to no skill number cap and make it that way so if you grind like me to top 100 its not just a battle of who can play/win more games than the other it makes it not even worth playing
Try TGC Tours. It’s great ranked crossplay tournaments which have kept me playing everyday. Much better than the ranked play in 23. Hopefully 25 is using the same format for its ranked play
I assume since they added cross play, that means we can finally play again with our friends live ghost in societies? And I would add that I hope they don't change the putting. They do it every release and then have to dial back to the same old weighted feel.
They haven’t announced any details on the ghosts yet but I don’t see why not. The only changes I would like to see with putting is to iron out the ghost breaks you get occasionally, and to improve putting from off the green which is a little imprecise. Other than that I agree, putting works fine as is.
Always a good plan. The deluxe and legend versions of the game come with 7 days early access so there should be reviews available prior to the games actual release.

equipment affecting your gameplay should absolutely be in the game. i don't think it should just be cosmetic. you should be punished for using blades if you mishit vs the chunky t300 irons imo. makes selecting your clubs actually matter vs just selecting it for the cosmetics.
That’s an interesting idea which would need to be tied into the difficulty levels. Rather than having amateur, pro, master, etc difficulty levels you have the different club types - cavity back, muscle back, blade, etc. What would be good as well would be that there is an advantage to using harder clubs. With blades you have better shot shaping, power, and accuracy if you can hit a perfect shot for example. I don’t think that will be in the game but I think it is a really good idea that could lead to some interesting ‘builds’ that compliment your strengths and manage your weaknesses. I suspect that the power progression for equipment will be an iteration of what we got in 2K23. Fittings or shafts or something that applies to all club types equally. Personally I think it is all a bit artificial but we will see.
What the hell is wrong with the ball types. They’re not free and like real life, you can buy balls with different attributes. Very realistic I think. The BIGGEST PROBLEM with all versions so far is the chipping. It’s far TOO EASY and encourages players to chip on the greens, and doesn’t that start a fight! In one match, my opponent chipped EVERY time he was on the green and sunk it EVERY time first go. No break, no mounds, just chip it straight in. It’s a BIG FAULT and is ruining the experience for those, like me, who want a realistic experience and that includes the challenge of putting. Lastly, a personal thing, I thought it was MUCH better in the Original version where putting had no marker on the swing meter, you had to judge how hard to hit it yourself. If you allow ball types into ranked play you essentially make it pay to win because those ball types cost virtual currency. With regards to chipping on the green, this is not allowed in TGC Tours which is the ranked tournaments in 2K23. At Master difficulty, which is what TGC Tours is played on there is no power bar on any shot. You should try it.
Ah. Not sure you are going to see that with this version. You will need to be online even though it should be possible for them to have at least the official courses available in an offline mode. All relates to the player built courses I am guessing that have to be stored onto their servers. Wouldn’t be possible to have that available in an offline mode. We will see though what they do.

The player designed courses have to be stored on 2Ks servers so online always. It wouldn’t be practical any other way. Societies and ranked play clearly has to be online. The campaign though I presume will be playable offline.

Interesting. I have nearly 1000 hours in 2K23 and I’ve played through the PGA Tour season twice. The vast majority of the time I am playing TGC Tours or Societies because competing against real players is the only real test in the game. So does only have 3 of the 4 Majors have any impact on my enjoyment of the game. No. On top of that, you can play Augusta on 2K games. It just can’t be called that for licensing reasons. So why focus on that as a reason not to move to 2K25 when the rest of the player base will be? I’m curious why that is the game breaker for you?

I rather play PGA Tour The Masters on PS3 with all official courses and mayor tournaments than something that has the PGA name and now for PS5 they added the real mayor's? I call that shady money practices. Why weren't they included in 2k23? It was freaking 2023, answer is "money" that's all they care about, making money out of the games, yes, it's a business, but what about those who for whatever reason can't upgrade to PS5 since the game now is only on current Gen? And I'm one of them and please, don't come at me with the, well, you should've upgraded 4 year's ago without knowing what people go through sometimes. Again, of course is a deal breaker not having all 4 Mayor's, the Master's will be called something else which is understandable because of the license as we had a Mock-up Master's tournament in 2k23 but it's just not authentic. It's pathetic by these companies playing with our heads with stuff that they could have easily added in 2k23 but no, they made us wait 2 year's for this. It's a shame.

EA bought the licenses for the majors previously which is why they didn’t appear in 2K23. EA still retain the license for the Masters as they signed a long term deal in 2021. So no, there are no ‘shady practices’ going on here. Legally 2K couldn’t have done anything other than what they did. And they are definitely not playing with anyone’s heads.
It still hasn't gone back to 3D on VR? What a failure. Doesn't need to work with a swing stick, just a game pad. And the last version has its annoying problems. A notice pops up several times when trying to start an offline single player game with ghost players. Something about something being full? But it doesn't tell me how to fix it. And ghost games are very shallowly done. Can't play against ghosts that aren't using mulligans. At 69 dollars for a simple redo, sounds like a money grab to me.
They have refined the control system, upgraded the graphics, added crossplay societies, added ranked tournaments over a season, revamped the skill system, revamped the stat system, upgraded the player customization, and added 3 of the 4 Majors to the campaign. Much more than a simple redo but up to you whether you want to get it. Why would they release it on VR when the player count on VR is tiny? Commercial suicide.

@@fairway2heavenNot necessarily about dumping the women but more so about having the women play against each other as opposed to having them play against men. There's a reason why it's called the LPGA. Two different associations that should be separate. LPGA shouldn't be removed from the game but should be its own thing like it is in reality. Now I don't keep up with the PGA all that much but I don't believe any of the FedEx Cup events have women and men playing together. I'm pretty sure they only have them play together in events that aren't official FedEx Cup events if I'm not mistaken. If I am then disregard what I said. Edit: Looked it up and they only play together in mixed team events, but there is also no rule that bans females from playing in the PGA. The problem is that officially they are known for playing in the LPGA, not the PGA and within the game they are playing in every single PGA FedEx Cup event, which is not the case in reality. It can happen every so often (like with Lexi Thompson who did) but it's incredibly rare.

As far as I am aware Evo Swing is just an iteration on the stick swing we currently have in 2K23 which works very well.

I'll disagree with the Mayor Championships, only 3 of the 4, another game without The Masters. Will pass on this and stay playing 2K23.

It was freaking 2023, answer is "money" that's all they care about, making money out of the games, yes, it's a business, but what about those who for whatever reason can't upgrade to PS5 since the game now is only on current Gen? And I'm one of them and please, don't come at me with the, well, you should've upgraded 4 year's ago without knowing what people go through sometimes.
Again, of course is a deal breaker not having all 4 Mayor's, the Master's will be called something else which is understandable because of the license as we had a Mock-up Master's tournament in 2k23 but it's just not authentic. It's pathetic by these companies playing with our heads with stuff that they could have easily added in 2k23 but no, they made us wait 2 year's for this. It's a shame.

EA bought the licenses for the majors previously which is why they didn’t appear in 2K23. EA still retain the license for the Masters as they signed a long term deal in 2021.
So no, there are no ‘shady practices’ going on here. Legally 2K couldn’t have done anything other than what they did.

It still hasn't gone back to 3D on VR? What a failure. Doesn't need to work with a swing stick, just a game pad. And the last version has its annoying problems. A notice pops up several times when trying to start an offline single player game with ghost players. Something about something being full? But it doesn't tell me how to fix it. And ghost games are very shallowly done. Can't play against ghosts that aren't using mulligans. At 69 dollars for a simple redo, sounds like a money grab to me.
They have refined the control system, upgraded the graphics, added crossplay societies, added ranked tournaments over a season, revamped the skill system, revamped the stat system, upgraded the player customization, and added 3 of the 4 Majors to the campaign. Much more than a simple redo but up to you whether you want to get it.
Why would they release it on VR when the player count on VR is tiny? Commercial suicide.

@@fairway2heavenNot necessarily about dumping the women but more so about having the women play against each other as opposed to having them play against men. There's a reason why it's called the LPGA. Two different associations that should be separate. LPGA shouldn't be removed from the game but should be its own thing like it is in reality. Now I don't keep up with the PGA all that much but I don't believe any of the FedEx Cup events have women and men playing together. I'm pretty sure they only have them play together in events that aren't official FedEx Cup events if I'm not mistaken. If I am then disregard what I said.
Edit: Looked it up and they only play together in mixed team events, but there is also no rule that bans females from playing in the PGA. The problem is that officially they are known for playing in the LPGA, not the PGA and within the game they are playing in every single PGA FedEx Cup event, which is not the case in reality. It can happen every so often (like with Lexi Thompson who did) but it's incredibly rare.
