  • Welcome to our Cunard Queen Elizabeth Full Ship Tour, where we will take you on a tour of the ship with "live" chat and commentary from us.
    This was our very first cruise aboard Cunard's Queen Elizabeth and we have to admit we have some big preconceptions of what a Cunard cruise would be, we are happy to say, we were VERY wrong, it was a great cruise.
    As usual with our videos, our commentary is done in a single take to give you our honest, non-scripted opinions. And as always our videos and all content is shot by us, in 4K and no stock images are used..
    If you like our content, and we hope you do, please consider subscribing, we put new videos out EVERY Sunday, and if you could hit the Like Button too this will help us massively as we grow our channel, and if you really want to, hit to notification bell button to be told when our new videos are published.
    Thanks, Linzi & Mark

    Hello Linzi and Mark, I have only recently discovered your site and would like to say how much I enjoy your down to earth "chatty" format. Each cruise vlogger are different and I certainly enjoy your style. I cruised many years ago on P&O Canberra with my dad (who was a guest entertainer on board) and eventually managed to take my wife on a cruise a few years ago. Unfortunately health problems and the pandemic have stopped us going again but watching channels such as yours keeps me both entertained and up to date for the time when we can go again. So thank you so much for all of your efforts. I am sure you have googled it by now, but the chairs on the promenade deck are called steamer chairs I beleive!

      Thank you Clifford and no we hadn't Googled Steamer Chairs yet.
      We are so happy you've enjoyed our videos and that they've helped and we really hope you and your wife manage to get back on a cruise again soon. Thanks again for watching and taking time to comment too. Linzi and Mark

    I'm glad to have stumbled upon your video. I'll have to watch any others you do. I sailed trans-Atlantic twice on the QE2 in the 1970s. Cunard definitely puts guest experience first in everything from food to stateroom amenities, and the staff is incredible.

      You are absolutely right when it comes to the staff. They really do shine so much. And as for the food, it was our first time on Cunard so we can’t directly compare to what it was like when you sailed trans-Atlantic on QE2 but we loved it. As you will have gathered if you’ve watched our Cunard food review yet?

    Thank you for your very informative tour of Queen Elizabeth, it was great. It's the only Cunard ship we haven't been on as yet. We are booked to go on her in July so it was nice to see her before hand. Apparently Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria are very similar to each other. Please let me know Lindsay if you remembered the name of those lovely wooden chairs x

      @SuiteNatured  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you Dan, and we'd heard from Cunard veterans that Elizabeth & Victoria are very similar too. That won't stop us trying Victoria though.
      And we can't claim to have remembered the chairs ourselves but some other lovely viewers told us that they are Steamer Chairs :)
      We are positive you'll love Elizabeth in June and hopefully weather will be a little kinder for you too. Linzi & Mark

    For the table tennis not racquets or bats but paddles. The promenade deck loungers, would you call it a longer or chaise? I don't know. I'd call it a posh lounge chair, lol. Love your videos. To the Mrs. Are you from Liverpool or further North? Your accent just reminds me so much of one of my besties ♥️😀♥️

    • @SuiteNatured
      @SuiteNatured  ปีที่แล้ว

      We always called them lounge chairs. Although we have been told the "proper" name is Steamer Chairs, although we tend to refer to them still as lounge or deck chairs. Whatever you want to call them, they are comfy and a lovely place to spend a few hours relaxing, with a book or listening to some music on headphones. As long as the weather is nice. Less plesent in the rain 😂
      We are both from West Yorkshire in a city called Bradford. It's in between Leeds and Manchester but virtually the same height north-wise on the UK map as Liverpool. Have a lovely day Barbara, Linzi and Mark

    Hi!!! Such a great video!!! Thanks!!! Planning our first Cruise....sooo many options... its overwhelming!! Love the look and even the formality of Cunard! Celebrity and Holland seam wonderful too! We are young active 70years old(young😉!) Wich one would you suggest? Would appreciate your opinion! Thanks a million!!!❤❤❤

    • @SuiteNatured
      @SuiteNatured  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you Frank. Oh a first timer :)
      You are so right, there are a crazy amount of options for cruising, even if you are a seasoned cruiser, let alone if it is your first time.
      So based only on what you have said, young active in 70's and maybe the formality too, here are our recommendations, and why.
      Cunard and Holland America, are the closest to what many preconceive cruising to be. Very stylish, elegant, semi/formal. Incredible service, even a ballroom and traditional white gloved Afternoon Teas. They have not gimmicks features or experiences, such as water slides, escape rooms, zip lines, surfing, sky diving or go-kart tracks. They have much more traditional entertainment, including the shows (which we feel need to be brought up a few decades). Food tends to be very elegant too, with casual options of course, such as the buffet. But this is very traditional, elegant cruise experience. Not in a bad way, as you will have seen in our Cunard reviews, in fact we were surprised how much we adored it, and will be sailing with them again.
      Is this a great first time cruise experience, we are not 100% convinced, and will it possibly taint other experiences, maybe. But having said that, you will have an amazing, unforgettable cruise, if you prefer that more traditional approach to a cruise holiday. .
      It took us around 20 cruises until we went on a Cunard one. Having said that we have met people who have only ever, and would only ever sail Cunard. Which we think is a shame, as variety is the spice of life, and we would encourage people to try as many as possible. If you try one, and it is not your exact cup of tea, then you know not to do it again.
      So let's look at some other options.
      Celebrity for sure we would recommend, we love them, and any of the ships from Silhouette to Eclipse, to the new Edge class ones, Edge, Apex and Beyond. All are stunning, the food is wide ranging, and amazing, the décor and art across the ship amazing also. The entertainment shows tend to be better (in our opinion) too, as they are more modern, but in a great way. They also still have enrichment talks, and classes, but definitely a wider range of entertainment than say Cunard. Nearly all of their cruises, if not all, are also all inclusive, which means your drinks package, gratuities and WIFI (if these matter to you) are part of the package. Of course they will happily take more money from you to upgrade further, including paid speciality restaurants (which applies to all major cruise lines apart from Virgin and the Ultra Cruise lines such as Regent), but Celebrity is a VERY solid choice, and would be our recommendation apart from one thing. The price. Right now Celebrity is very expensive (again in our opinion) compared to Cunard, Princess or Virgin. But you get what you pay for, and if you are willing to pay a bit more for the cruise, then you would not go wrong with this as a first cruise. It is also one that would let you move either way on your 2nd cruise, for instance to try Cunard/Holland America, or the other way and to try someone like MSC or P&O.
      Our next recommendation would be Princess Cruises. In many ways VERY similar to Celebrity. Modern ships, amazing food, service, great restaurant and bar choice, really good entertainment options. Their Princess Plus Package is probably the best value in cruising right now, giving you your drinks (to $12.95 a drink), gratuities and WIFI, and the new Princess Premier (which we are trying in August) look fantastic too. Princess is also more in line, price wise (and maybe even a bit less) with Cunard. A very easy line to be as active, or chilled as you want to be. Again a solid favourite of ours, and at the time of typing our next upcoming cruise (Enchanted in August).
      Our final recommendation, to throw something different in the mix would be Virgin Voyages (either ship as they are nearly identical). Our perception, before cruising Virgin, mainly due to how they advertise, was that it was like an Ibiza party boat, aimed at 20 somethings. The reality is, it isn't. I would say on both of our cruises over 30% of the passengers were well north of 60, and we spoke to some in their 90's who were having the time of their lives. Sure there is more lively entertainment if you want it, that goes on to the early hours, and the mornings tend to be quieter, more fitness or relaxation based activities. Where Virgin really shines though is it's culinary experiences. There is no traditional main dining room, instead lots of restaurants, everyone included in the price, all of which are amazing. From the Wake Seafood and Steakhouse, to Pink Agave Modern Mexican, Gunbae Korean BBQ to traditional Italian, vegetarian restaurant and so much more. We love the food on board Virgin, it is amazing. And if you just want to relax, it is very easy to do so on board. Entertainment is very much on the VERY modern side, even the theatre is not traditional. You will see things such as a Cirque Du type take on West Side Story, Singing Octopus Goddess and more. It is both amazing and bizarre, but we have yet to meet anyone who did not love Virgin.
      So to try and wrap up for you and give you an actual recommendation. You absolutely should try everyone of the ones we have mentioned above, but we, on balance, for a first time cruiser, would recommend Princess for your first one, it would be Celebrity, bar the price, then Cunard, Virgin and Holland America in any order you fancy.
      Anyway this was a very long reply, sorry, but we hope it helps, and welcome to the world of cruising. Have a lovely day Frank, Linzi & Mark

    It looks like a lovely ship, BUT, after watching this and other videos it's quite clear we'll be trying Celebrity next, not Cunard. We tend towards more informal, appreciate good food, but enjoy more modern decor and at least somewhat bigger ships than Cunard has.
    We're making a point of broadening our horizons and cruising on several different cruise lines this year and next, and seeing if any favorites come out of that. We've been on NCL, RCL, and MSC so far, and will be going on Carnival and Virgin (as well as a couple more NCL) this year and next. We still have one cruise to fill for later next year and I'm increasingly certain it's going to be Celebrity.

    • @SuiteNatured
      @SuiteNatured  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Eddie, thanks for watching, and letting us know what you thought of Cunard.
      We get it, we really do, we put off going on Cunard for years, having started out with RCL, and then cruised with most of the major cruise lines now. It is really hard to compare Cunard to other ships, having done Celebrity a few times ourselves, we certainly get the allure of the new experiences, and the Edge class ships are phenomenal, and the "all inclusive" aspect of Celebrity is appealing too. Honestly, we love Cunard & Celebrity, but they are different experiences, not in a bad way, but in a great way. Maybe, the upcoming Queen Anne from Cunard, might fit the bill better for you? It goes on sale in May 2022, for cruising in 2024, so we'd said it is worth at least looking at the details when they come out.
      On your upcoming cruise, Virgin is AMAZING (you might have seen some of our stuff on it already), and on the surface about as far removed from Cunard as you could get, but when you dig down into the service & food, they have similar ethos about leaving their sailors/passengers, with great memories for years to come. • @SuiteNatured
      @SuiteNatured  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Ann
      You are right it’s not cheap at $69 (£56) a day per person but when we compare it to P&O (£40/$50) which although cheaper the range of drinks is far less and for us far worse value. Royal Caribbean have a seemingly variable package at the moment which they seem to change the price on a per cruise basis and we’ve seen as high as $80 a day!!
      Right now in our opinion Princess or Celebrity probably have the best drinks package deals but none are what we class as cheap nowadays. Ultimately it comes down to how much you drink (alcoholic and non alcoholic) and whether you prefer to pre pay /budget we guess. Personally, and it can only be that, Cunards worked out for us but it would be better still at $10-15 a day cheaper.
      Interesting to hear the QE and QV had better afternoon teas. We would have assumed QM would be the same? Strange. Good to hear everything else was good on her though. Have a lovely day. Linzi and Mark
