Gorgeous! For those who are concerned about "wasting" the cards and envelopes. ..this could easily be done by recycling junk mail and product packaging. The gesso could be tinted with paint or ink to make it tan or other color if the recyled bits aren't a color they desire.
This is absolutely one of the most brilliant crafting ideas I've ever seen! I bought a Kraft Paper card set aabout 2 years ago, created a lot of 3D-cards, which where no longer fitting into the envelopes. Now I had a whole bunch of envelopes which were useless. Now the finally have a purpose. Can't thank you enough for sharing this with us.

There is nothing wrong with using the card bases and envelopes. You would spend money to use a canvas, so why not use what you did instead? It is up to you.
You are so inspiring to me! At first I wasn't sure about this page with the rice paper florals. It is kind of difficult to do the color for me. Knowing when to stop is the key! Hi, Marta! Beautiful project! I am curious about one thing. When you do things like this, that aren't in a book or journal, what do you end up doing with them after you create them? Do you display some of them? Keep them in a file or folder?

Enjoy watching your videos, you are a very talented artist. Challenge - how about using pastels, oils and plastic in one collage but put the labels/saying crooked instead of straight. Up for the challenge??
This is a spectacular piece !!!! There is no such thing as a waste of papers while making a base for our creations. I like what quite a few artists have said about rules "The first rule is there are no rules".!!! We each do our own thing. I hate naysayers and trolls. If you dont like something just go your way and don't leave thumbs down or hutrtful coments !!!!

I laughed on your reaction to the chalk marker -- that's how I feel all the time on art products I think I'm buying -- those chalk markers are actually great for using in the classroom -- and on those dry erase boards. I have a friend who is a physicist, why we are friends, I have no idea; I feel smart in math because I know the 9 times table -- ha -- but he loves them -- so much cleaner than regular chalk on the boards -- if you still don't like it, donate it to Em's school -- the teachers will be grateful -- I love how this project turned out - and I watched because -- I just bought kraft paper to make an art journal using only kraft paper -- love your channel; you are so inspirational !!!

Thank you for inspiring me so much! I haven't been able to create anything really for 8 years due to bereavement and now I am having a baby too I have felt more creative than ever but haven't known how to get back into artwork but I have missed it so much. I think you have finally kickstarted the end of my mental block! I love the fact that you are finding time for you to create with your newborn baby and have told them to go off for a walk!! Amazing!! You are officially my idol and will make the rest of my pregnancy (3 months to go) and probably the late nights a lot easier. Xxx

I absolutely love the stencil you used on this beautiful project. I went onto the Little Birdie website and it says minimum purchase amount to order is $150.00! Disappointed as I am in the states but I understand. I checked your Etsy shop hoping you offered the stencil but didn't see it.

This is so beautiful Marta. I love the flowers and the gorgeous and bright rainbow of colours. Creating a page with flat decoupage using napkins, rice paper or discourage paper is a lovely technique. I enjoyed watching your video, it was lovely that you got a bit of time to create while the family enjoyed their walk with Hannah.Happy Easter to you and the family xx

Interesting to watch this now since Hannah was only a month old when you did this video. Now she is 11 months, I think. It was great to watch this again, since I just got a package of napkins that I ordered from eBay. I also bought Mod Podge at the store, so I am all set to use floral sections of the napkins for my focal point. This video has also been an excellent review of using sprays for adding color. I like how you use the tube from the ink spray bottle as your "paint brush".
I love how this project turned out for you. You have inspired me to use my napkins which I actually bought for decoupaging some glassware that I got at a second hand shop. I might see if I can add some of my Nuvo mousse in addition to using the ink sprays. Perhaps I will have to save that for another project. I just need to start using it! I have had it nearly a year and not used it. Sigh. I also have distress crayons, gelatos, watercolors, water pencils, and Perfect Pearls to use. New mediums intimidate me.

I have just watched this and I am in awe of what you do. I live in New Zealand and our supplies are limited. I use amazon sometimes for stamps etc but really have to make do with what I can find here. I never thought of using anything other than the ' normal ' canvas or paper. This allows me to let my imagination run wild. Thank you for sharing 🤗

I've seen many of your videos and have learned so much from you. I was drawn to this one because I thought you would be using actual pretty paper napkins. (i have been collecting beautiful napkins for several years, and periodically use them in my mixed media). I'm looking for "different" ways to use paper napkins and hoping someday you could show us a project or 2 using these beautiful pieces of art.
Donna D I loooove using napkins! A wet brush works amazing for "cutting" out your design.

I love this!! I use a glue stick now thanks to you because mod podge is not my friend and I just got clear gesso and love it lol. I tried making my own but it wasn't working so i bit the bullet. Ill have to check out little birdie to see what they have so thank you for the link!
Hi Marta! Very cute project! I was thinking of your cards that come out to 6X6. I finally was able to order envelopes to accommodate the cards, but I have to cut them from my 12x12 cardstock. I have those white Dovecraft chalk markers as well. They also come in light blue. They have a fishy odour that I can't stand.

I love your attitude..your creativity...especially with Emily...she is a sweet thing. My work area is my dining room table. My hutch holds part of my supplies but the rest are in 8.5x11. And 12x12 plastic boxes piles all around the back side of the table on the floor. I live alone and even I get tired of the mess, BUT company%#$×!#÷! That is another story.

I have so many 5 x 7 envelopes right now. Since I am trying to use up the 200+ cards that I made when I tried to sell once (long story) I am not making cards right now. I have many card fronts too (on top of the 200+ cards) that I can incorporate into 8 x 10 canvases or larger if I begine doing 11 x 14 canvases too. I found another box of card fronts the other day. I may use some for cards to send eventually too. I have so many completed cards with envelopes to go with them that I will possibly have more than I need in my lifetime. With some cards I will change the message inside and with no title on the front I can use them for just about any type of greeting card that I might need.
Still I do not need all the envelopes right now, so I will use some to create a new and different piece of art. I think I have many extra 6 x 6 envelopes too. I also bought 5 x 5 envelopes when I was making smaller cards. So....I could combine all three sizes into my art.

The Chalk Marker is for using on blackboards, like you see in pubs where they have a blackboard with the menu hand written. It looks like chalk on a blackboard and can be erased like chalk x
