    Hearing your comments on these locks makes me feel glad that most homes in Switzerland are using Kaba locks. They also have way nastier locks as well :D

    For Switzerland, a KABA 8 is a very low security Lock, for Houses or Flats we have locks, that are way more complicated (up to 44 Pins).

    Fantastic work on the KABA! I had a hard time with mine...
    Great that you could dissemble it. Mine has as press-fitted pin which hold the plug.

      Thanks. This one wasn't too bad... First open in about 3 minutes... But I had done my research ahead of time. I knew there were no security pins, and I knew these locks like hard tension. That knowledge gives a huge advantage IMO.

    So switzerland has not bad locks, considering that most of the kabas used on doors have more than 8 Pins...and cuts on the side etc...

    Great job and video. Kaba 8 got nice key. Just smooth surface with dimples of various size, no grooves.

      Thanks. Good thing there's no warding. That would have been brutal.

    Here from 1432. You and Bosnian Bill have inspired me to dip my toe into the waters of locksport... I see some big sharks down there just waiting to be picked...

    Wow hearing early LPL is so... Nice. Genuine. They seem so eager in some ways that I haven't seen.

    Excellent picking and gutting, on a complex and tough lock.

    Nicely picked. Also it's a good looking pinning tray, you did a great job on it.

      de Ronchopathe Apparently easy to rake though if you have the right rake.

    Could you give this a re-visit in the future, maybe explain the technique how the key can be inserted reversed, and check if the lock can be raked open?

    I live in Zurich Switzerland now since 2018, and most apartments are kaba, and even tho I live in a one bedroom apartment (big still, but for one person to maximum a couple), and I was given 3 keys. But if I were to move out, even if one is lost, they have to replace the lock on the door and change all keys, which would cost up to 500 francs... I never knew they could get picked that easy, or even at all!

    • @lwlx
      @lwlx 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This guy is probably one of the best pickers world wide. No normal thief would be able to achieve this with that speed, dont worry.

    • @TheEndtimeTheory
      @TheEndtimeTheory 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Usually they replace ALL the locks in the building, not just the one for your apartment (as your key is most likely not just working on your apartment door but also the main entrance, garage door and what not), which would then cost thousands of francs depending on the size of the building. This happened to a friend of mine - his insurance paid most of it though.

      Im from Zurich too : ) But I can assure you, buildings use Kaba Star, the top security lock from Kaba. Kaba 8 is mostly used for office drawers and cabinets.

    buen trabajo una cerradura interesante.el montaje tiene que ser mas complicado de lo normal.SALUDOS

      @lockpickinglawyer  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +adrian leon Gracias . Asamblea no era tan difícil como pensé que sería. Abrí el tubo de plástico para que sea un ajuste perfecto ... lo que se necesitaba debido a la precisión de la cerradura.
