This was so puzzling. Starter was fine, alternator, battery, fuses, relays, immobilizer, ignition switch. Everything was fine and I couldn’t figure out why until I saw the broken apart brushing on the ground and at first didn’t think anything of it. Did more digging and digging and found a video like this where that little tiny brushing was actually the thing holding back my car from starting
lol you saved me i was doing ac on a car at a customers house and after i was done my car wouldn’t start. i roll started it went home saw the missing bushing and 5 cents of wire and some electrical tape fixed her up! thank you so much!
I glue coins on over the open hole! Do that for the same reason I bend cotter pins only one way, and put belts on with the writing a certain direction.
Wait does the brake lights stay on if this is a problem? Bc im having a no turn over issue the honda civic is almost there but doesnt there is a werid problem with the back lights they stay on so what a similar situation.
The grommet that wears out is the same as few already on the car. Door panel, inner fender , core-support cover. They all will fit. Sone better than others, I thin everyone w/ a 5-speed over 150k has had this happen to them.
im glad i found this. but i have a question so if the car is on and you press the Clutch petedle down and nothing happens is that the clitch switch? fyi its a Acura 05 tl new starter and clutch new redone.
My car shows 5-10mph in neutral after installing a new clutch, I can go through the gears with or without the clutch, reverse grinds for some reason, I’m not sure what’s wrong I checked the half shaft and axles all good.
My 91 ef 4 speed is having this exact problem rn but I already checked everything including that top switch and it’s still not starting does that mean it’s bad??
Okay so you seem like the only one that can help me. I just redid the slave and master cylinder in my 2003 Honda civic ex and my clutch pedal still sticks to the floor and does not come back
Based off the info it seems like the system has not been or is not bled correctly or all the way , never rule out a faulty part tho. Quality control on 3rd party parts is abismal
@@WhatTheDuckAutoon a 1997 lude its incredibly hard to reach. i had to back wrap tape on a long screwdriver and stick the penny to it, and douse the other side of the penny in glue and stick it on top of that hole where the bushing broke. can anyone explain why tf there is a hole with a bushing there in the first place?? why not just flat metal to push the button in when you engage the clutch. what point am i missing here?

@@DeyDeysthey have a rubber on the pedal that it wait it hits so you will see the switch coming threw the hole
I put a small nut and bolt on mine and still works same as stock. Just incase you wanna keep the safety aspect to it.

Impossible to replace the top one without replacing what exactly ? 😢 I’m having this same issue and I’m looking for ways to put in the top grommet !
You'd basically have to remove the whole clutch pedal assembly

Put a jumper wire on the unplugged connector from the clutch safety and if it starts it was the switch

Not the saftey switch. If you bypass the cruise switch yes

In the wire pig tail for the clutch saftey switch. Basically closing the loop
