My friend’s dad taught a bunch of us girls this practice when we were still in high school, in their living room while he was watching nighttime local Indian tv. Such a lasting memory. Thanks for the flashback and refresher in depth. 🙏🦋❤️😊🦚
indeed 👍🏼 and to add to that… this woman wakes up beautiful, she doesn’t have to try, no make up… natural beauty. i don’t know what has happened to the women in the US… but it’s like i’m looking at one of those Brat dolls ….they have gone so extreme, it’s just not attractive… at all. i
I do this for one hour every morning and then as needed. I was instructed in India that if I did this and other pranayama everyday my mental health would improve and it has indeed.
I 'd come back here to write my experience . Firstly Thanks "Prasiddha" for sharing such a beautiful knowledge . I did the "Nadi Shodana" for 4 times as instructed without fail for about some more than 15 days (maybe I left 2times of a day for 2days) , and some few days back I felt the energy of Ida and pingla nadi criscrossing and moving upwards , I also felt energy on "Ajana Chakra" . It was Mind blowing experience . But the energy was very intense .
I don't know why but when I do this alternate nostril breathing HRV breathing style (Not holding breath but doing it 5sec in and 5 sec out) I get so much syncronisation in my life. Like I was singing one song and I heard it immediatly elsewhere. Things like that. This is the only practice which do it for me.
This is the kinda stuff I've been trying to learn the last 5 months! I like the content sometimes I find it hard to find the right practices! Thank you!
Bravo to you!!! I’ve been doing this amazing breath for years. Your presentation on teaching this yogic breath is one of the best I have ever seen. I’m really looking forward to more of your teachings🙏🧘♂️
Thank you for sharing Maa. It becomes quite intense especially when you are doing Nirahara Samnyama, it feels like the whole body is doing Nadi shodana, all your cells get revitalised and powered with divine energy. It is also a powerful technique to heal head aches, centre you mind and blissful sleep if done just before bed. 🙏🏾😇
Namaste, I am so glad I came across your videos looking forward to learning from you. Sure right everyone on TH-cam is teaching but not with the scripture, from the scriptures. Thanks you for doing this and sharing with the world.
I wanted to come back and say that I have been doing this breathing technique in my meditations and it is amazing how cleansing this feels. It seems like it also helps to center me and help with alignment. Thank you!! Please keep type of videos coming. This one has been especially helpful🙏💖🙏 Much love to you, Ma!

Hi there... got 2 questions. Q1. Other videos show that kumbaga is not required during this pranayama. do you think this stage is required? if yes, why? Q2. can we do this pranayama whenever we want ? can we do this for more time like 1 hour or so at a stretch? do you see any sideeffects? please advise...
Namaste mam I have done tribandh(3 locks) 6 years ago. From that time to now, I am suffering from various diseases specially mental and sexual disease. My ida nadi is open most of the time compare to pingala. If I try to do nadi shodhana then it increases my arousal. So I cannot practice it with regularlity Please tell me what should I do 😭😭😭😭😭
Hi Kundalini Yogini... appreciating your value adding video. question: when i try to practice this technique, i can see that one of my nostril has free flow of breathe (left) but its hard to breathe through other nostril (right). So, when i alternatively close the nostrils during practice, i feel some hard feeling in the lungs to breathe itself (only during breathing through right nostril). Is this normal? If any problems in my practice, how can i solve it? Please advise...
Yes that happens when you are congested and the nasal passages aren’t clear. I highly recommend doing daily neti pot with salt water or using nasya drops (Ayurvedic oil) to clear the cavity
Pranaam, Since this is not the authentic NARI SODHON KRIYA, the real Kriya is as Guhya or Gurumukhi so people cannot imagine, in India most Guru's are less taught only to earn money. People are morons, the real Guru will not ask for money, mostly even do not give dikhshas, those who really knows what and why. Joyguru

There is no difference between them in the scriptures. As I show in the video, these are the direct scriptural references. Maybe only modern yoga came up with that love!
@@KundaliniYogini hmm this is interesting because what I wrote on my first comment is what I was taught on my yoga training in a traditional ashram. Shall I ask what the scriptural references say about the anulom vilom? Do they separate them at all?
I think the reason for only using the right hand to do this pranayama is because in Indian culture the left hand is the hand to use as a butt wipe. During meals, people don’t even bring the left hand up, keeping it by the thighs. So they end up using the right hand only to eat. It’s funny to see their apt finger dexterity when getting small pieces of their chapatis. At least this is what I saw in Rishikesh when I was there in 1971. I didn’t see that when I returned in 2018. Also, in those days, over 90% of the people dressed all in white, but now no one does. It’s all due to cell phone, I guess.
I suggest using a Neti pot to flush your nasal passages before you begin this breathing practice or any kind of meditation practice. Learn how to use the neti pot properly first.
Prasiddha, the Dharma is not subject to "cultural appropriation" as it is beyond any specific culture. Yogic technique "downloaded" by ancient rishis can be "channeled" today and I have always read that the 'operator' received the information in their native language - do you not receive spiritual instruction in your language? The particular power of Sanskrit lies in the sounds of the spoken, chanted, or sung language. That being said I do agree with you that an overt link should be maintained wherever possible between yogic practices and the Sanskrit information as this system has been developed in great detail over many years and is still relatively unknown in many places.
Scholar Rajiv Malhotra gives a name for this strategy / phenomenon as the U-Turn theory: "Westerners appropriate Indic ideas through a process called the U-Turn. In its basic form the U-Turn Theory states that a member of the dominant Western culture first whole-heartedly learns the Indic tradition. He or she, for a variety of reasons, then repackages it and projects the knowledge gained from India from within his/her own culture. The next thing you know is that s/he claims these ideas were always an integral part of Western culture. Some, but not all, also start demonizing the source Indic traditions using a lot of pretexts, such as calling them “world negating” or accusing them of “human rights” abuses."
Of course dharma is cosmic law. It is beyond this earthly plane. That being said, that doesn’t give justice to the reality we are currently part of. Colonization and abuse of indigenous knowledge, Vedic tradition and Hinduism have been happening to the nth degree for thousands of years. Not giving credit to the place and people that brought this science to planet earth and kept it alive is not only against dharma, but karmic violence.
Also, there is a HUGE gray zone and danger in saying that anyone in meditation can receive these truths. Yes, again it is absolutely possible and I myself have experienced glimpses of it. But it takes a pure vessel, a completely enlightened being to ACCURATELY map and interpret cosmic knowledge without ego or alterior motives. I see soooooooo many human beings claiming to have cosmic knowledge and spreading extremely corrupt teachings that exploit others. That is why it is so essential to follow the science of enlightenment which was micromanaged and detailed for thousands of years in the tradition of Sanatana Dharma.

Hinduism is not religion. It's way of life
Sanatan dharm ki jai
Radhe radhe jai shri radhe
Correct. It’s the eternal path to truth
is there any treatment available at you for spinal cord injury then please tell me
Do you only do breath retention with full lungs or do you do it at the end of exhale too
I learn this in the 80's using the right thumb n ring finger is that ok?
Prasiddha, What does Nadi Shodana mean? Nadis are energy centers (or maybe pathways as well) right?
And then Shodana?
Yes and Shodana is purification :)
Have you ever done this with the khecari mudra?
what does “shodhana”(searching) means? what nadi are we searching by doing this?
