@Pennies_on_the_dollar yes the lack of end rows. I typed that wrong lol. End rows are a trick when you've gotta cultivate. Most farmers think it's blasphemy not to plant them 😆
Great video of everything that's gone on. As for your 1086. I didn't think it smoked all that bad. I've seen turbo seals to the point where it smoked like it was naturally aspirated lol. Keep in mind doing heavy work with a older tractor like that. You may get it to smoke a little bit and burn some carbon buildup off . But once you get it good and hot it should run a little cleaner. After all, most guys forget that they were designed to do a certain amount of work and be worked hard
Thank you AJ, it has been a road so far!! The ole gal never lets me down, and I need to give her some love!! It does LOVE to "slobber" alot when doing small chore work, and that doesn't help at all. I finally pulled the hoses off after checking the return and the cheapo turbo has A LOT of play in tht impeller, so I'm sure the seals are going quick. Hello Mr Tom, as far as I can tell yes sir it should. I have it sealed up in buckets. Not sure that right, but should keep tht critters out of it. I was able to get the majority of my remaining seed planted yesterday 😁 (Future video) . The population worked great, had about what I should have had left over. Thank you sir for always being here, I really appreciate that!! Hope things are well your way!! 😁😁🇺🇸🇺🇸👍👍
@@hilltopmachineworks2131 Man yeah, we are up that way sometimes. Would love to stop in sometime and see your shop up close!! Thank you again Mr Tom and good to hear you got that job completed!!
Hey Nelson! Now THAT is a ROCK! I'm glad I haven't hit anything like that up here (fingers crossed)! I'm impressed at how well the tractor pulled that chisel plow with no fluid or weights. I'm sure it felt different from the cab but on the video it looked like it handled it really well! I hope everything went well to get that last bit planted. Just out of curiosity, what is a normal corn seed population for your area? Here I think normal is somewhere around 32,000 per acre, but I think I remember Old Rivers Farm in Georgia saying he planted somewhere around 20,000 per acre there, but his soil and climate are very different from here. It's almost time to get old Glenda ready for wheat! Never a shortage of stuff to do LOL! Very cool seeing the progress in the farm, and how far you have come since you started! Hope you have a good one, Nelson!
Let me just say Evan, I face planted the front windshield when that one got tugged on 🤣🤣🤣They had to dig that up when they did the sewer line. Nothing remotely close to that anywhere on the farm ever!! I wonder if the tongue length played a factor, because short of the rock, and the stump it never really grunted. I was so impressed, especially with those racing slicks!! It was smooth in there actually!! Most around here are between 29-32k from what I have heard. I was shooting for around 23-26k the first time, which I failed miserably on. After more reading and talking I settled on about 24k for the second round. Not sure my virgin ground would take much more. Time will tell, that seed went in this afternoon 😉😉 OMG I know, boy I am so far behind with her and a working head 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ Always putting the cart before the horse 🤣🤣🤣 Thank you Evan for the kind words on the video and progress. It has been a long 4 years but we finally made it!! Thank you my friend for always being here, I really appreciate that!! Hope things are well your way sir!! 👍👍😁😁🇺🇸🇺🇸🌽🌽
@@Pennies_on_the_dollar There's a line across the small field at my friend's house where a county tile ditch goes through. A few years before I started farming it the county dug it up and replaced the clay tile with plastic and they just buried all the old tile, and I did more of it up every year with the plow. Some of the pieces are pretty big it must have been a heck of a tile. They would hit so hard it would disengage the hand clutch on the WD45 and in the sudden stop you eat the steering wheel! My oldest son Sam was riding with me when I plowed it the first time I sort of squished him a little bit between me and the wheel, I felt so bad 😥 he was ok though
@@evanaustin2636 That is a common thing it seems to bury trash like that, especially for the agency doing it 🤬 My goodness, I bet that was a sudden stop for y'all both. Thank goodness he was ok,but I bet that tile just keeps giving every year 😳 I had two really spots and could fit the life of me figure out why. I was able to get the majority of my remaining seed planted yesterday 😁 (Future video) . The population worked great, had about what I should have had left over. Thank you sir for always being here, I really appreciate that!! Hope things are well your way!! 😁😁🇺🇸🇺🇸👍👍
@@Pennies_on_the_dollar That is good. Just plugging along up here. It was slow for me in April, but just wrapped up a nice paying job so that is good.
@@hilltopmachineworks2131 Man yeah, we are up that way sometimes. Would love to stop in sometime and see your shop up close!! Thank you again Mr Tom and good to hear you got that job completed!!
@@Pennies_on_the_dollar that sounds great. Khaos loves visitors. You have to throw his toy though. Lol.
@hilltopmachineworks2131 🤣🤣😉😉👍👍👍
I farm up in Pennsylvania
Man yeah, that is awesome!! Hope the weather is holding out for y'all!! 😁😁
Time will tell, that seed went in this afternoon 😉😉
OMG I know, boy I am so far behind with her and a working head 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ Always putting the cart before the horse 🤣🤣🤣 Thank you Evan for the kind words on the video and progress.
Then I remembered that's where two previous manholes were they dug up and put mud back in as backfill🧐🤬 Crazy things Evan!! Thank you my friend for the conversations, really enjoy them 😁😁👍👍
