I finally managed to force myself to do a low honor playthrough, was tough being so rude. I didn't even know this version of the song existed until I heard it then and there for the first time as Arthur was riding to his last mission. Gave me chills and I've been playing and replaying this game since it came out.
I 100% the game about a month ago, and now I recently started a low honor playthrough. I already felt terrible killing the train guards that were in Cornwalls private boxcar at the end of the train robbery. Yep, low honor isn't going to happen for me. I should probably take break from this game for a while, the 100% completion has drained me. I 100% rdr1 and undead nightmare too.
As a logo on one of my 'T' shirts says, "If your path leads you to hell, walk around as though you own the place" which I think Arthur would accomplish easily.😀
Yea, it definitely fits the vibe, I like how they didn't use many, if any, high pitched instruments in this. It's just really low, dark sounding drones and synths which fits the dark and low down nature of a low honor play through.
2:36 this for me is the biggest difference in the songs. Typically my fav part of the harmonica comes in. Instead here it’s that sinister sounding noise. Very well made game
I can’t bring myself to ever complete a low honor play through, but this is by far my favorite version. It’s crazy how they could make essentially the same song convey completely different feelings
@@FormerlyEpicjcatDon't worry, lol. I just did a low honor playthrough for the first time recently. When I hit chapter 6 I worked on raising my honor as much as possible so that Arthur could "redeem" himself
Imagine you got the low honor version of that‘s the way its is, but Arthur redeems himself by helping John so he gets high honor Unshaken. That‘s the canon ending for me (even though Mr Morgan was always a good man)
To me this song gives two themes. One that, while the high honor version is in a sense rewarding you for your selfless actions and letting you reflect on them with a sense of pride This song makes you look at yourself and see that you made mistakes, Horrible mistakes and now it was time to pay. But it wasn’t too late. There was still one last chance to make things right with the melody played at the end. As if it were imploring you to dig yourself out of the Hell you made for yourself. And two, that no matter how good some of us may think we are. There is a dark side. And we have to struggle and fight to avoid succumbing to that darkness and becoming better people. IMO. That’s the way it is.
This was the only version I knew when I completed the game 4 years ago on low honour. Wow so emotional, this game could be a Netflix series. No game has ever given me the nostalgia and emotional feeling this game did.
This was the last ride/ending I got first time and I have no regrets. I was a cold killer and stayed true to going after the money, this theme was perfect to sum that up.
This song makes me think on all the bad choices and mistakes I've made. I'm with you Arthur, I've lived a bad life too. I'm sorry Ryder and Zack. I could have been a better friend, I should have. I could have supported you when you needed someone, now you're gone and I can't even tell you sorry. I'm trying to be better person, but I have a long way to go.
If a RDR2 movie comes out This better be the trailer music because holy shit this just evoked all the emotions back into me that playing this beautiful magnificent game Brought me the first time.
i physically cannot bring myself to doing the low honor ending no matter what Edit: I got the low honor ending and got shot by micah, balling my eyes out rn 😭😭😭😭
Basically what I did to get this song, was be just a bit under mid honour. I then selected help John which gave me more honour after this song and got the good ending. It works really well if you want the music and it's just a sad feeling this low honour version.
Both high honor and low honor have their own way to be deep as you play the game focusing on one of them from the start to the end. This low honor reflects how Arthur is corrupted by his bad and evil actions before, the game feels like Arthur knows that his time is over, the memories when he did bad things to people come in, and he has to finish his last job once and for all with all he had. He accepts his fate and tries to face it with the same way he faced people and their problems. Now high honor Arthur feels he can die in peace, with no regrets or bad feelings because of how many good things he did for the others. High honor theme reflects peace, harmony and mission complete, like a good ending. Arthur knows that he'll die, and he decides to give all he got to save the last people that needs him and try to fix the trouble between the gang to make things clear. High honor Arthur: I'll die in an hour, but there's still someone who needs me, besides, I have to talk to Dutch. Low honor Arthur: I'll die in an hour, but I must have a big chat with Dutch about the time he turned on me and also tell him about Micah and deal with this two, once and for all. We can see how Arthur thinks about Dutch just after getting back to Van Horn. In Guarma, he saw that Dutch was acting crazier than before and he starts to suspect him, but after Guarma he becomes angry with Dutch, even more after he turned his back when he most needed him. Arthur's intention was to kill Micah so badly and kill Dutch after Micah, not likely just get after Dutch and kill him, but firstly have a conversation with him to see if he still is going to say the same things he usually does, since Arthur was doubting that when he was trying to involve with the natives, always saying the same thing that even John perceived that too before. This could seem to Arthur that Dutch were still crazy and he would not try to change himself, I believe since we are talking about low honor Arthur, he would probably duel or take other severe actions against Dutch.
playing rdr2 with low honor is not hard, but playing low honor the "true way" is what really made me change my perspective on this game, the game goes from you being a nice and caring guy who will go out of their way to help; to a person whos out for one thing... to survive, but the things you do on the way is scary
Thanks for this. I much prefer the sound of the low honor song. The only problem is that it is shorter than the high honor version and you cannot seem to purchase it. I have the soundtrack from iTunes which includes the high honor song but you cannot find the low honor version which is an oversight in my opinion. I am loving the outro here as it extends the song nicely.
