    Great analysis JT. It was very clear to me there was miscommunication with Lockett on that whole drive. He's too good of a receiver in these clutch situations. They were just not on the same page. DK used his size and athleticism on his catches. JSN is just a freak, I don't think people grasp how insanely hard a finger tip over the shoulder catch is the rain! JSN made a similar catch in better weather in the Rose Bowl against Utah.

    Crazy how much that last completion to metcalf looks like the last interception by hurts to end the game.

    As a fan of NFL football one of my favorite things about watching a game is when you see a player have a "Hero's Journey" type of game. This is what we all had the pleasure of watching unfold for Drew Lock and the Seahawks during the week 15 game against the Eagles. The skill level of the the team in the key moments when it was needed the most was top tier. The Seahawks secondary, Julian Love ran across the width of the field to intercept a pass. Jaxon Smith-Njigba ran full speed into the end zone to catch the winning pass on his fingertips with a defender on him. Then there was Drew Lock who found himself on the bench as a backup quarterback in the NFL. Only minutes before the game he found out he was the next man up. And then late in the game with two minutes or so left to go, Geno Smith and his teammates let him know he was the man they believed in to get the job done. Drew Lock along with his teammates rose to the occasion driving down the length of what I believe was 98 yards in the rain. What a joy to watch all of these men come together, each one giving his all for the team. It's more than winning a football game. In that moment it was the human drama of the hero's journey playing itself out. And I loved the after game interview by Drew Lock because he was completely himself and vulnerable. I love NFL football!!!
    For the record, this is coming from a 49ers fan.

      @cadburybabies 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      That was really well-stated. I too love the “hero’s journey” often exhibited in the NFL. Purdy’s journey was short but it was an odyssey nonetheless. This season has seen so many of these journeys. Here in the Pacific Northwest alone we have both Geno and Drew as well as Jake Browning from U-Dub. It’s been a great year.
      Like you, I am also more of a fan of the sport than I am of my chosen tribe. I’ve been a member of Bills Mafia since 1986 but I will root for many players if I like their personality and their story, often at the expense of my team. It feels so much better to root for than root against.

      @pnwseahawksgirl 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Did you see Lock's interview by Lisa Salters post game? He was so articulate about what it felt like to doubt yourself, sitting on the bench wondering if you still have it. It was truly one of the best post game interviews I've ever seen.

      I was born, raised, and stayed in Seattle.. so I’m a Hawks fan for life but I (like you) totally enjoy the NFL as a whole. I watch, and enjoy, almost any/all games. If it’s a Sunday, Monday, or Thursday night I can watch and have fun.
      On another note, congrats on the divisional title… Y’all totally deserve it this year. The team Shanahan has put together is like an freakin Avengers movie.🤣 So many talented/skilled players. It’s wild how good they are.

      I think it's the way he reacted after the missed throw. I don't think he likes Lockett "calling out" Lock there. Sort of a "what the hell sort of throw was that???" as he sort of throws his arms down. Overall Lockett is never like that so I was surprised to see it, maybe like someone above said, they just weren't on the same page & Tyler was finally getting a bit frustrated.

    If I'm not mistaken, the seahwks really rushed the play after metcalfs weird juggling catch. Could be wrong, but i think thats why that play looked so weird.
    Hate that Lockett wasnt on the same page as Lock on this drive. Hes been an amazing receiver that has been the key to many a game winning drive in his own right but it wasnt clear watching this drive. I cant beleive they didnt flag the defense for yanking him to the ground on the penultimate play there. I think it looked like he was taking it upfield more because he fell forward in that direction.
    Fun watch though. I didnt realize how much pressure lock was under this whole drive. That first slant to metcalf that was thrown too low, lock is getting hit and his throw was definitely affected there.

    Couple thoughts - on the MNF broadcast, Aikman insisted that first completion to Metcalf could have been a 90 yard TD if Lock threw it higher so he could catch and run.
    As for Lockett… sometimes the backup QB has chemistry with different receivers than the starter does. It makes sense, the backup QB is not getting as many reps, he’s throwing more with the depth WRs and maybe even doing a little work on the scout team.
