- Hi - welcome to this weeks mass making workshop. This week, we are making these great and fantastically quick and easy pockets for junk journals. These can be altered to include any style of papers and decorating, just experiment! Hope you manage to craft along, and get some serious mass making done with me during these workshops which I am hoping to upload every Tuesday. We have been camping as a family for over 40 years and still love it. All our three boys, grown men now, enjoy it and still go camping when they can. The stories we could tell, from the tent taking off in the wind because we’d faced it the wrong way or the holiday we arrived to find all our sleeping gear had gotten wet in transit, we wouldn’t give it up for anything. Now that we’re older we have a fully self contained caravan that doesn’t need electricity. We go off for years at a time though because of family illness and now the virus we’re stationary at the moment. Off as soon as the virus allows us, to Aussies we’re called grey nomads. We travel on as we want, work when we need to and don’t have to answer to anyone. We love the lifestyle. Thanks for the lovely chatty video and your mass make idea.
Oh gosh, I hope our tent doesn’t take off in the wind! Lol I hadn’t even thought of that! Sounds like great memories though. Wow, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the sound of your lifestyle, I can see why you can’t wait to get on the road again x
Hi Tina, awesome pockets! Congratulations to your son. I think a lot of us Mom’s, that are a bit older than you, and have older children can totally sympathise with you being nervous. You’ll be just as nervous when your 13 year old and your Daughter get their license. That feeling never goes away!

My family did a similar camping trip years ago when the teens all had jobs and we couldn't really get away. Such fun. Great memories.
We call them campers :-) We also take vacations instead of holidays.

Beautiful pockets and another great mass make! Loving the camping stories they remind me of all the fun we had when our children were young. Well I remember the midnight dash home when thunder and lightning struck, the kids asleep in the back of the van, and the windshield wipers working high speed and my husband and I laughing at our hope for good weather, 🤣.

They’re so pretty. I will have to make these❣️❣️. Thanks for the camping stories. We had a used motor home when our kids were little. It was great because we didn’t waste money going to restaurants when our kids wouldn’t eat but a bite. And we could take our dog. 👍😂We had some great adventures and my kids, who are all in their 40’s now, have wonderful memories of those days. Thanks for sharing . ❤️Eloise

Was mesmerized by all the beautiful papers. Great idea, thanks! Camping: been there done that. Never again. I love my own bathroom too much. Grew up in the country and loved being outside, yard work, flowers, big veggie garden, clearing fence lines, whatever but then you go inside to your bathroom and a nice shower. Now if we could afford one of those $100,000 campers with a full house inside...... I'm jealous of your post office hours, heck anymore some close an hour for lunch, closed at 4pm.
Lol, yes how awesome would one of those campers be, definitely that would bring camping to a whole new level. Yes we are lucky to have better opening hours for our post office, just wish they would be open when they say they will x

Beautiful pockets and I loved your stories as always. We had a big tent and all the cooking stuff when our children were young. Hubby insisted on camping even in the rain, said the fishing was still good. He wasn't the one in the tent with 2 miserable children and a Boston Terrier that was afraid of rain. I can laugh about it now, but back then I discovered where the term "not a happy camper" came from LOL! Thanks for sharing another great mass making idea!

Love those pockets...so simple but so versatile. Here in the states you can always find used camping equipment either in the ads in the papers or on resale sites online. People get all the equipment, try it once or twice and then decide camping is not for them, so end up selling it all and you can find some really good bargains. Great fun Tina.

What a great video! Love listening to your stories!!! My hubby & I used to go bicycle camping....EVERYTHING YOU NEEDED HAD to be carried on our bikes. We usually chose the fall to travel up to Minnesota or Wisconsin...it was either heaven or hell depending on the weather😄! Now in our 70s we make it easier on us by staying in a motel!
Lol, Jan, our car is piled high, I can't even imagine balancing a quarter of our things on our bicycles!!!! lol. Yes, a motel/hotel is definitely the better option x

I just found you because of Natasha's video about 10 crafty questions. That video touched my heart. That's the most I have ever seen a fellow crafter open up about themselves, their life experiences, and their reasons for the love for crafting!! Very inspiring for a crafter, but also a great reminder of how blessed I've been in my life.

You had me laughing at trying to get tent in the bag and how the other campers must of been entertained because my family has been through the same thing and our tent ended up in the box it came in from the store, with the bag neatly tucked in beside it!!! HAHAHA
In the US we call a camper that you drive an RV short for recreational vehicle, and if you pull something behind a truck/vehicle it's called a camper.
I grew up in Elkhart, Indiana which is the RV capitol of the world. I've lived in the state of Michigan since 1990, which is only 15 minutes from the Indiana state line/Elkhart, Indiana. My family--mom, 2 brothers, and sister and their families still live in Elkhart, Indiana. I'm the black sheep I suppose because I'm the only one to live in Michigan....and for other reasons lol

Your story about the tent brought back memories of my dad folding up our tent. He would lay on it to try to get the air out of it. I loved tent camping. I come from a camping family. My parents still have a camp site that they rent all year and are spending this whole summer there. They're retired now. But, I forgot about folding the tent up until you mentioned it. lol

Good morning Tina! I always watch! Every morning you brighten my day! Thank you for your kind words on my montage video! We call them campers here in the states, we’ve been going to the sand dunes since I was very little and we always enjoy the time in the sand! ❤️ hopefully in 2022 we will be able to get to the big sand dines in Southern California those are a wonderful break from the cold winters here! We used to have one tent when the boys were younger. Now we have smaller tents. My husband and one son still fish and camp for one or two nights. I went once last year. I was waiting to hear what you made on the second night for dinner. Fish and chips sounds really good for tonight's dinner. I buy sweet potato fries instead of potato fries. I know what you mean about how long the mail is taking. Much love to you and the family ❤❤❤

Camping was our holiday years ago we had a massive tent and a VW camper as myself and my husband with 5 children we loved it x

Thanks so much! I hadn’t seen the original video. I just made two pockets from some coffee dyed paper I had handy. Love the idea of no measuring. I’ve been wanting to use up some paper I have and this will be quick and easy.

I am sure someone else has already told you, but in the states we generally call them campers (though there are individual names for specific types & sizes. It would be so much easier to call them caravans 😊). TFS your video & story of your trip!

Love these pockets!!!! We are lucky to have a camper on a nearby lake to get away to. All we have to do is turn on the water and relax! The foods all stay there and the electricity is always on. It is my HAPPY PLACE. And 40 feet long with a huge screen in porch. That is all the Holiday we are going to get this year.

I don't go camping unless I have an actual camper, sleeping in a hot tent on the ground is just not for me.
Some places here have cabins that you can rent. And you can rent a camper here as well.

My partner had to do the same last week and he's off again next week. I'm on annual leave now will be back at work after eeek be first time in nearly 5 months I'm going to need to be retrained I can't even remember how to talk to people haha
For now stick with site 8 miles away buy a little burner and kettle like you say everything very uncertain at the moment.
We had a week booked in Devon for June which was odvisly cancelled I have rebooked for next June.

I've a post-office near me actually the same it drives me crazy and they was even bad before lock down.
I've been using your number labels loads the blues greens and browns I'm loving them really lovely set. They go with everything.

The law of camping ....nothing fits back in the bag it came in.....lol. We recently went to replace a sleeping bag and came out with a new tent....awning....chairs...bbq...etc etc. 🤣🤣🤣
Lol, yes it's easily done, those camping shops are full of such clever things!!! None of them will fit back into their bags either but hey ho!!! x

Love the pocket and you used beautiful papers, really easy to make. Maybe a strange question, but I don't really get the mass making. Do you make so many journals to put all these pockets in, because all the same pockets in 1 journal would not be very interesting. Or what do I not understand?
Yes Yvonne, these are just to have a variety of things on hand ready to go in journals. It just makes the process of making a journal much quicker. Yes a journal full of the same sort of pockets would be super boring!!! Lol x

Oh they're really fun Sheila, have fun making some. The papers from the first two were from my Edwardian Emporium and my Victorian Florals Set 3 x

Hi Tina love the beautiful digis you used on these pockets. Is that wet wipe or a dry paper towel you use to wipe down your paper when your gluing? Just wondering...tsmfs🦋
