I have the same take as Broussard, very much not smart to play everyone but at the same time, I like the concept of toughness and “we(for better for worse) give 100% all the time” type mentality. I have the same thought on the 4th downs. Your scared shitless the whole time but love the mentality.
You’re simply not watching the games if you think it’s only KOC. Darnold is playing ELITE football. Doing things that most QB’s aren’t gonna do, making throws consistently that most can’t, pocket mobility that most don’t have
The Vikings should definitely keep Darnold. He's exceeded expectations and is having a Geno-esque resurgence. Based on his history, they don't have to sign him to a big contract and even have leverage over him because of KOC helping him. There's literally no other team where he has this much talent and great coaching around him. Plus, if Darnold falters, then they can still fall back on the rookie that they've been teaching behind him.
Nick Wright you are a wise man, my friend. 👏 I think your comments on the Vikings and Sam Darnold are SPOT ON, and should be the way the Vikings handle this off-season.
Hey Sean Mcvay is the first coach in NFL history to be able to make the playoffs while his team was 3 games under .500 in back to back year's. A lot more interesting than Cowboys being terrible. He also the only other Coach aside from Andy Reid to win a SB since 2017( may be off a year or 2)
All time great season? Cut it out lol, he had a very good season, keep it at that. Marino had the all time greatest season 48 TDs, 5,084 yards, 109.7 passer rating in 1984!
So, on Sunday, Baker Mayfield was the 5th QB in NFL history to have 350+ pass yards, 5+ TDs, 150+ passer rating, and 80+ completion percentage. Next week, he is gonna be the 10th QB in NFL history to have a 40+ TD season…and we’re talking about how the irrelevant Cowboys are 7-9?
JJ McCarthy still hasn't played a single regular season game. He's probably better than Darnold, but it's in no way guaranteed. Particularly not as a 1st year starter. The Vikings feel like they're approaching SBOB territory. They are going to wind up with aging weapons and poached coaches if they wait a few more years for JJ to develop.
If they have JJ though they can afford to keep this core team together for years into the future. They don’t have to pay him for years, are the Vikings really old? I feel like they’re pretty young, they’re not the 49ers age wise where they may have to soft rebuild soon.
Someone will pay darnold. Do we forget someone paid Daniel Jones after a 15 td season? Someone paid cousins multiple times. Someone severely overpaid Dak after 1 playoff win in 8+/- seasons with stacked teams.

It's obvious that Nick never played meaningful sports. Several reasons for this: They have to prepare like they are playing because they dont know until Sunday afternoon. At that point it is too late to change course. You can only sit so many players and field a team. Depending on who sits you increase the chance of the remaining players getting injured. Then you are in worse shape in the "important " game. Winning gives an edge. It means that you win if you tie. It is unlikely but all edges are helpful. The Lions offense is very timing and precision based. They need to keep it going to be at their best.
