welcome to Iran dear Syfia :) I'm from Iran and I live in Tehran. you must know that you have been in the old and poor districts of Tehran and they are undeveloped. I suggest you visit central and northern districts as well because they are the main face of Tehran. visit symbols of Tehran like Azadi square and Milad tower. have a nice journey :)
i would definitely visit palladium mall, tajrish bazar, and grand bazar of tehran, saadabad palace, golestan palace, darband, and definitely go SPU resturant
I think a lot of people in western countries do want to understand daily lives and true culture in Iran. I personally don't want to be stereotyped about Iran because of news from media.
You know, in every country that I visite, I always want to visite the old towns if they have, because that's where you see how that town/city started out in thebeginning! I don't travel to go to see modern buildings or shoppingmalls, I just want to see the original, the real and old that has a history. If I ever come to Iran I will search on google for the old places, and I'll walk around and enjoy everything, doesn't matter if it looks old and tarnished and poor, as long as it has a history!
Hi Syifa Like your unbiased episodes and your love of travel. A lot of your worries and fear expressed in your talking about of Iran stems from western propaganda and the imposed sanctions. Iran is a very nice place it is one of the modern cradles of civilisations, especially science, and helped to spread Islam. I visited Iran before you were even born, 1973, and the last one was in 2009. I have seen the difference and fully understand Iranian worries, doubts, ambitions, etc. By the way, I visited Indonesia in 1972 on medical assignment and spent six month in Jambi/Sumatra. I enjoyed it very much and loved the Indonesian as if no other people on planet. Best wishes in your work, travel and life.
Thank you so much for watching and for your kind comment. Much much appreciated! I will try my best to do that :) Don't get your hopes high but wish me luck.
Yay, your first Iran video! Thanks for the candid views. A lot of it reminds me of Cairo - the cars, the crazy traffic (although it's a lot less crazy in Tehran), the juice shops, the sweet shops... Can't wait for the next video! Ohhhhh, and I'd loooove to try that food!
Thanks so much Kris. I was jetlagged in this video and was exhauted from the previous day. I tried my best to put together a little bit of something eventhough it's not the best. Thank you so much for watching and for your kind comment. Much much appreciated!
For a tourist who travels to Iran for the first time and doesnt have any tour guide or any friend here, to start from Tehran city will be confusing. Althogh the flights directly come to Tehran but you can arrange to go to smaller cities Like Isfahan and Shiraz cities where you can also visit other tourists more quickly and also become familiar with the Iranian culture, architecture, traditions, foods, shared taxis, bus lines, hospitability ... Then you will be able to visit and tolerate the traffic of a big and very crowded city like Tehran.
If I may be so bold, I'd like to confess that I not only watch your videos for the beautiful world you cover in your vlogs, but also to see you and what you feel about it all, or just to hear you talk one way, you are absolutely amazing and my heart sends thousands of dua to you evey time I see you, may you get every good in this world and after, may Allah protect and increase every blessing you have,
It is honestly difficult to keep vlogging, keep the enthusiasm while traveling. I dont know if I can live up to your hopes but thank you for watching and for your kind comment, Karima.
Good job for not crying in this video, stay strong. For future videos, talk about the sites you saw, the people you talked to and most importantly the food you ate.
Syifa Adriana No worries, it’s good to see some raw emotion. Good luck with the trip. Did you see my last comment? It was a stupid joke, just try to cheer you up.
Have a nice trip! I'm Iranian so you please feel free to ask me anything about it :) That part of Tehran is one of the oldest parts of the city.(near University of Tehran) I live in Canada and I miss there so much after watching your video...
Wonder what's their daily diet like? Flour, rice, bread ,fruit and their tea or coffee .your video show a restaurant with high ceiling and colourful painting, GREAT! Can't wait to see more of it, 2 thumbs up.
Will you have issues travelling to other western countries like US etc now that you have an Iranian stamp on your passport? I heard it could be an issue.
Yes I have heard such issue with the USA, however I dont think it is an issue anymore. Even if so, I havent had any plans to go to the USA yet.. Thank you Tao for watching!
But for example in Israel,Greece,Turkey,Germany, they don't put stamps in the passports anymore,at least not in mine. I think it is sad,it used to be fun to have the passport full of stamps!
Excited for more videos, we are always interested to see the reality of the world you show us. Please ignore comments who clearly have never travelled and do not know how tiring it is to fly, not to mention the culture shock that always happens in any new place.
Wow I think your so brave to go on this new adventure. Quite a lot to take in on your first day and maybe hard to be sure of your new surroundings but I’m sure you will have an amazing time . Good luck Syifa and stay safe. Oh and the music is great but can we hear more of the sounds of the city too 😃
MashaAllah Sayifa you are doing well! You are beautiful, you are dynamic in what you are doing in your magestic travels, and you are a wonderful role model for many other young Muslim sisters. May Allah(swt) keep you safe in all of your travels! You should definatly go and visit the Shrine Prophet Muhammad's(saww) grandson(as). Visit Imam Redha(as)
Kak kalo travel ke iran itu banyak peraturan2 yang harus di lakukan ga? dan muslim disana kan berbeda aliran dengan di indonesia apakah ada masalah buat beribadah di sana?
Hi Syifa I can no longer travel, thanks for sharing, I travel with you, peace and respect has Indonesia China Iran and to the other peoples love and happyness, your appetite will still travel Hihihi .
Nooo, no food vlog yet.. Probably when I am in Vietnam I'll make one or two. Thank you so much for watching and for your kind comment. Much much appreciated!
Why did you take off your video about the airport security forced you to take off your hijab. I was trying to share it to my friend about this issue, but couldn’t find it anymore.
Dear Amy, I privated the video because the comments are getting too ridiculous and very harsh as well as hurtful. I also don't want to create the extreme impression of China. However, in reality, it happened, which is understandable since it is in Xinjiang. Thank you for your support xoxo
+Syifa Adriana The title of that video of yours is confusing, making people think you were told to take off your hijab by your school officers or some random people on the street in China. Intentionally or not, you omitted "at airport" in your title. Now you are playing victim, saying other people's comments "ridiculous, harsh, hurtful"? That's ridiculous. As mature and educated adults, we are all supposed to be responsible for what we say and do, aren't we?
I agree. But the honest truth is even the school that I am working for asked me to remove my hijab while working. And I have been doing that for a year now. I never once mentioned it because it will create misunderstanding for people who dont understand. The truth is also, I have travelled withing China with and WITHOUT hijab, and I am not playing victim that everytime I use hijab, the way security officer check me is getting even more stricter. You wont understand how it makes someone feel eventhough some people say it is only a hijab. And I am not playing victim by saying that people’s comments are ridiculous harsh and hurtful, because I accept 50 percent of the criticism. However, there’s a great difference being a critic and a bully. Put yourself in my shoes, and probably one day you will understand. Everyone is going through different journey, always be kind.
+Syifa Adriana The issue with that video of yours is your lack of clarity writing the title. We all know how strict airport security could be nowadays and why it has to be that way. Though all your video about your China experience are mostly quite positive, this time somehow you made it sound like "They mistreated me in China". That "sudden change of event" made those care about you concerned, quite understandably. On the other hand, I believe, you do know very well that western media are constantly spreading stories of Muslims being mistreated in China and many people around the world believe their propaganda. So it shouldn't be a surprise for you that some Chinese quite rightfully, resent the misconception you created. Also, when you saw the confusion you created, why did you not give some thought and have the title fixed. Now you are telling us you did make compromise in quite a few occasions in China? Actually that's no surprise for anyone. It is quite obvious that, as an educated independent woman, you don't seem fit for a typical "good woman" your religion defined at all. Then why this fuss about some common type of airport security check every one might have to go through anywhere in the world, not just in China? Or, are you saying you could not handle it any longer, not much because of your Muslim identity, but simply because you were not in a good mood that day at airport? Yeah, too bad. Like it or not, this world is a harsh place and each of us poor commoners all just has to suck it up. Cheers.
BBB 43065 Can't you read? She is forced to open the hijab NOT ONLY at the airport, but ALSO at her work place. So the title is very suitable. You don't even realize she was still protecting China good name. I imagine she could've told the world worse about china discrimination, but unlike you, she has restrain.
Hello,i live in iran,i will be in tehran 2 days later and after that i will be in isfahan city, my wife and i will be happy to see you in isfahan city, How can we contact you or see you, Have a great trip Bye
Syifa Adriana Its a good news,we hope to see you in isfahan city, any way i have to leave to tehran tonight, if you can come to my shope i will be happy, Have good trip
I olso like to trip to different countries with my family, but because of my business i cant be in different place, how can you do it,can you give us some advice? Thanks
sister why you hav'nt visited darband? its an amazing place, and dear next time kindly take help from some one who can guide you to explore iran, there is a lot of lot intresting things in tehran,
Are you going to go Dubai, Egypt, or maybe Morocco. I can now imagine a visit to Saudi Arabia. I have been to some countries here and am interested in your perspective. My first impression, what a difference from China. The women especially. Can't wait till next installment. Stay safe, watch the water, as mom would say.
No, Richard. I have to save a lot of money to do that hahahaha. I can do a bit of comparison but I have been here in Iran for about a week. I can’t tell much since I am only traveling :-)
Thanks Richard. I privated some old videos that I no longer consider relevant, but you can watch all of my Iran videos here th-cam.com/play/PLonhezuZQT1bTPLHiKzhSjtgppitcnCsJ.html
Yea everything looks old especially the cars on the road and the infrastructure,it’s due to its sanctions and high amount of taxes on imported things, but u can still see the modern Tehran if u go to downtown Tehran, hows the food?and is it easy to communicate with people at the shops and hotel ,enjoy your time 👍👍
Try not to go to streets tomorrow, at least not till the evening. I don't want to make you anxious though but like I said no one knows what will happen tomorrow.
Love the rich culture of Iran... Ironically you don't look different amongst our Iranian brothers and sisters.. Sooooooooo beautiful i must say.. Talking about Iran..😉😊🌹❤👌
You said that you were upset about taking off hijab in China province airport...But you respect separation of men n women in Iran...So how does it add up to your equation?
If I go to Iran...the culture for men is to wear long hijab n gown then I have to follow suit..Whatever cover as i use to if the law or rule state otherwise..I can't be ignorant.. Because every country has its own criteria...If China is flexible n allow hijab not to be taken off..Then China will be another Germany or France
Much like when I traveled around before I moved to China. In Iran, a lot of people speak English more than in China. It's actually easier to travel around for non-local.
All the best to you in Iran.this is another muslim country that practices syariah laws, that's why there's a separate section for men and women in public places.a modern country but the peoples' mentality is still conservative.anyway good luck to you whilst you are there....
Some area in Tehran are far more modern and less religious. I wish to capture more moderate looking Iranian along the way as I have been seeing them so many times and I don't vlog around as much. Thank you so much for watching and for your kind comment. Much much appreciated!
I am so happy you visited Iran! We need more lovely tourists like you!
welcome to Iran dear Syfia :)
I'm from Iran and I live in Tehran. you must know that you have been in the old and poor districts of Tehran and they are undeveloped. I suggest you visit central and northern districts as well because they are the main face of Tehran.
visit symbols of Tehran like Azadi square and Milad tower.
have a nice journey :)
So much Culture and history in Iran , explore , have fun , Enjoy. People are very nice .
Apart from the hectic road traffic, everything seems to be at a gentler pace.
Hope you'll accomplish everything you wanted to do/see in Iran!
Thank you so much for your positive and kind support. I very much appreciate that!
i would definitely visit palladium mall, tajrish bazar, and grand bazar of tehran, saadabad palace, golestan palace, darband, and definitely go SPU resturant

Love how you break the stereotypes about Iran in the most positive way.
Hi Syifa

your travel vlog is one of the best because it is so pure and simple

The only annoying thing is the traffic system, ironically less accident happen there than here in Canada.
I've never been to Iran, I wish you will show us a realistic view of the country in your next vlogs. best of luck, stay safe.
It is honestly difficult to keep vlogging, keep the enthusiasm while traveling. I dont know if I can live up to your hopes but thank you for watching and for your kind comment, Karima.

On the street even while vlogging almost everyone ignored you. Perhaps not as much an obvious foreigner as in China but still interesting.

Please come to India Bangalore city
On the surface, I feel it looks very much like a small city in China, do you think so?
most definitely no.. it is a completely different place.
Have you been there?
no. I am watching the video as you are.
No, Tehran is huge and very populated. There are many areas that is more modern but I havent got the chance to record everything.
why do u choose to videotape the most rundown places of Iran?
may i know the traffic compare with Jakarta and tehran which one u feel worse? just curious since u r from Jakarta but u think Tehran traffic is bad

The issue with that video of yours is your lack of clarity writing the title. We all know how strict airport security could be nowadays and why it has to be that way. I only traveled to Iran for 3 weeks. I will be coming back to China in March :) Thank you for your kind comment. :D
You missed the most important Chinese New Year, the most important festival in China.
Dear Syifa Adrina, I would like to invite you to visit Bangladesh and to make lots of videos.
Mba katanya semua cewek disana harus pake hijab ya ? Walaupun bukan islam ?
You were in old part of tehran ,didn't show north part with modern look.
How do you get around not being able to speak Persian?
whhusa cats can get around without being able to speak Persian as well. It's INSTINCT and ppl will always help if you ask. Cheers.
Much like when I traveled around before I moved to China. In Iran, a lot of people speak English more than in China. It's actually easier to travel around for non-local.
@Zac, LOL cats and dogs speak universal languages and don't need to ride the bus and pay for things.
North of Tehran is Modern go to there
Up north of Iran is actually more modern.
even city center, she stays almost out of Tehran
Thank you Jack for your recommendation. I am not able to do the North this time as it is winter, probably next time when I am back :)
Syifa Adriana no problem i just want to correct what i said. I meant the north of Tehran. Not the north of Iran where caspian sea is.
I correct you brother 😂

Mba sendirian d sana? Sewa travel guide apa kemana2 sendiri aja?
Iya mbak sendiri aja.. Krn gak memaksa harus begini begitu. Traveling dan buat video kayak gini cukup melelahkan..
