    I went to a local G league tryout back in 2009 and 2012 for the Orlando Magic affiliate team. Honestly it was great experience it was held in the Orlando Magic practice facility. I did pretty good can’t say I stood out but still I held my own out there. But yeah honestly looking back I don’t think it was a legit opportunity I agree with Dre. But still it was fun experience felt like a pro for a day. Like Dre said it’s your choice to do it just know the odds of making is slim to none

    It really is more than just a game... its about who will make that organization the most money. This will dictate who gets the most chances of exposure and opportunity to show off their game. You can be a great basketball player but just not be marketing material. This video was very informative. It put the league into perspective for me and kept me informed. All in all, it helped me remember why I play the game and that is to enjoy competing and strengthen both my body and mind while spending quality time with friends and family!

    As someone who played a lot of ball in HS but never took ball seriously until recently, I may do this just for the experience. I didn't even play for the school my senior year. Coaches and guys I know that got D1 offers and scholarships have told me over the years that I could have easily played D1. I'd probably try out just so I don't have any regrets when I'm 60 lol.

    I have scouted with FIBA & CBA. This is such a great video. The only real local try-out success is Jon Simmons. But the key is to get into the G-League draft pool and get picked in the top 10. The goal is always be networking. Beg a real agent to sign you or work with you. Your phone is the best agent. Check out all the FIBA sanction leagues. CBA is always looking for talent and they pay on time! Good Luck KD Lee.

  • @amplescramblelogic2049
    @amplescramblelogic2049 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Great video and great information. I would like to like the league expand by eight teams because so many great players never get the opportunity they deserve. This years draft really got to me as I was scouting several players that are NBA ready that go overlooked or went undrafted and are way better than some of the big names we hear about: Jose Perez out of Manhattan, Jarred Houston out of Emerson College, Ryghe Lyons out of Nicholls State, Jaizec Lottie out of Flagler College. Also Jordan Usher and Charlie Moore went undrafted among with many others. These guys should not be placed in a "holding tank" when they already have the talent and if "iron sharpens iron" wouldn't it be better to go against first rate talent ? Good stuff and thanks for keeping it real man.

    • @DreB
      @DreB  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The league is the leagues because not everyone can get in. So no, I reject this idea. No one “deserves” to be in the NBA (or overseas) - you earn it by out-performing the competition. That’s how life works. It’s a performance-based business. Not a deserving-based business. I appreciate your feedback, but this is a feminine argument. Masculinity doesn’t want handouts; we want to conquer and win.

    • @amplescramblelogic2049
      @amplescramblelogic2049 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DreB What I am saying brother, is if you are not given the opportunity to showcase your skills during Summer League (e.g., Jordan Usher, Michael DeVoe, Charlie Moore, etc.), then it's not performance based. I've watched so many of these drafted players chuck up bricks, take bad shots, exhibit poor defensive skills, etc. while more deserving and talented players were forced to become spectators.
      No one wants a handout; all of these guys worked their tails off for the same opportunities and thankfully the Warriors had enough sense to pick up Trevion Williams.

      Aim to attend an American college, where you can play and develop, rather the a G- League tryout. Much better chance you actually succeed + you probably need the seasoning anyway. The GLeague is not some random pickup game that anyone can just walk into. And no, you do not and can not train 8hrs a day, that’s physically impossible if you’re actually doing anything in that time. That statement combined with your others tells me you Liliet have very little chance of making the GLeague. Hope this helps you; it will if you listen. Watch my other videos and learn. I have shared plenty on these topics.

    A friend of mine was drafted first overall in the G league draft. He is 7’0 and played well. Played in three summer leagues but said the NBA is very political and the best players don’t always get called. Big men don’t get called up unless they can shoot. The NBA has changed. It’s boring to me because all they do is shoot three’s. I can watch that in pickup games. The 80s and 90s had the best basketball.

    • @DreB
      @DreB  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      “Best” is relative; I’m sure your friend thinks highly of his game but it’s the decision makers’ opinion that matters, not his. If he’s as good as you’re saying, he will make a great living in pro ball for a long time.
