To further cement the idea that Emma had magic in her heart through singing, her lights should've flickered when she began to hum as a child. It would've been a small detail, but an important one. If this series ends without showing us where the hell Lily and Maleficent are, I'm going to flip shit...
Rumple took credit for creating the Dark Curse so all would fear him. It's also often times called his curse because he was the one who retrieved it from its hiding spot. I don't think Charming's castle was ever destroyed. Last we saw it was when Snow was setting up her own Dark Curse. Opening a portal only became easy when the Sorcerer's Apprentice got involved.
