Crossbleed is shut as part of shutdown checklist. In response of the fire push button been pushed (damage), it must be closed in order to isolate both side of the bleed system and to avoid bleed/ ac contamination (smoke, fumes, odors).
Due to the bleed system architecture design (APU Bleed feeding line positioned to the left side of the crossbleed valve) in case of ENG 2 failure with damage (ENG2 fire PB pushed) the APU bleed can still be used to supply bleed pressure as long as the crossbleed is set close position PRIOR of selecting APU bleed p/b to position on. This is a very important step to be observed since as per crossbleed logic, when the crossbleed rotary selector is set auto, by setting APU bleed to on will automatically open the crossbleed valve and consequently contaminating the AC system. Another important point is to remember that APU bleed has priority over engine bleed.
Using APU bleed to supply bleed pressure is also very handy in case of immediate return to departure airport under overweight conditions as it allows pack to be supplied from APU bleed and the ENG or ENGINES to achieve best performance (no bleed being tapped from it).
Regarding REV usage when one is inoperative it can still be used, in this case both thrust levers must applied.

Engine Damage when 2 out of 5 options apply: 1. repetitive engine stall, 2.airframe vibration, 3.high EGT, 4.stuck shafts, 5.hydraulic generation of failed engine lost.

An engine failure is considered when:
1. Master switch is set off (without engine damage)
2. Agent 1 is discharged with engine damage
3. Fire extinguished or agent 2 discharge with fire 😊

engine damage is suspected with the following symptoms:
-high EGT above the red line
-mismatch or absence of rotor speeds
-hydraulic system loss
-vibrations
-repeated/uncontrollable engine stalling
If my engine is secured but I m still below engine out acceleration altitude,can I level off to clean the aircraft or wait ?
engine is considered damaged when vibration occured; N1 is 0; EGT is low. X bleed to shut to isolate and prevent smoke from fired engine to the other and to cabin. I still do reverser on landing 1 eng. Anything do I miss? please advise. thanh you, cap.
Hi good job Nam, engine also considered damaged when there is loud explosion and no readings on engine parameters. Crossbleed to shut to prevent contaminated bleed air to enter. And yes reversers can be deployed when landing with one engine. Good answer Nam!
Hello captain, how would the PTU work after switching off the engine master switch of 1 engine ? In FCOM its mentioned PTU will work when the differential pressure is more than 500 psi between Y&G , and both engine master switch should be off or both should be on
PTU should still work as long as there are still hydraulic fluids and pressure left.
