I honestly can't believe Stef doesn't have more subscribers with the production quality of his videos. Seeing EYZ go on long journeys like this is so cool to see!
@@StefanDrury I know you probably haven't been told this and it may seem a bit weird but I did a school project on your channel, as we were assigned to choose a "celebrity" that produces or acts in films/videos. You were just such a good example of an amazing creator
So nice to have a 'TH-camr' not spend the entire video yelling at me to subscribe to the channel or promoting products. Wonderful video mate. Well done. Brilliant.
I follow all posts and often have great pleasure to watch them but this episode was particularly pleasant, even more for the French pilot I am, discovering your beautiful landscapes, your ADs, the phraseology, the simple and welcoming relationship between airmen in Australia. Just love it. Thanks a lot for the work you do and I guess the big amount of time it requires. We are grateful to you for this pleasure moment in our days :-)
@@VictorsVector There are videos by "Flugabenteuer" who is an Austrian aviator. He did a lenghy multi episode France trip with a DA40. The video is in English though.
@@VictorsVector Hi, I'm in France and have a (modest) channel which I use to show my flights in my Jodel Mascaret, seaplanes and other aircraft I can get my hands on... Best wishes from The Flying Frog!
I saw this on FlightRadar the other day. Was browsing FlightRadar and saw your flight from Broken Hill to home base. Followed a bit and listened on LiveATC. Great work Stef.
Over 10 and a half hours single pilot, well done mate. I generally get extra crew on long flights 😊 Wow, your videos are getting better and better. I watch everything, on both channels, but don’t always comment (sorry). I truly think you should have a million subscribers based on the quality of your videos. You tell a great story and your editing is great. I’ve been flying for 40 years and listen to everything you say and often learn something new. Keep it up mate. I wasn’t expecting an overseas trip so soon so I’m looking forward to the next episode. 🎉
I love all your videos, Stef, but this one just hit different. The storytelling and editing are unmatched. These videos make me feel like I’m with you, along for the adventure. As a maker of underwhelming TH-cam videos myself I hope to be able to craft a story half as well as you do. Cheers and safe travels.
Very cool Stef, I did a C206 ferry Perth to Cairns 30 years ago, no GPS, no autopilot. I still reflect on this as one of my greatest adventures. Airline flying now, still love flying and love my job. You have just inspired me to get back in a lightie.
Absolutely great video, Stef! As an Aussie who has done almost all of his flying in the US, I love to see the GA views of Australia. Funny that ATC picked up that you were doing a video😊
Awesome video Stef. I love how I used to watch these trip videos and get excited for what was to come in the future. Now I can watch them and understand every little technical detail you talk about. Absolutely love trips like this where it’s just you and the plane (and some music 😅) for hours on end with gorgeous scenery. How lucky are we…
@@ireneuszpyc6684 All of life involves risk… Stef goes on adventures and chooses to take calculated risks, mitigating it wherever possible with safety gear, and careful planning, prodicing wonderful videos of the process and of his travels.
Great trip. I recall driving to Leigh Creek once back a few decades and it was a hell of a trip. It's weird seeing it as simply the first stop on your massive journey. Hope to watch a lot more of these videos from you.
Brilliant video Stef. EYZ gets up and boogies. I ferry a rebuilt 206 from Parafield to Darwin in the 90s. I flew Tennant to Darwin direct last leg. Agree was too long. But overnighted in Alice so total flight was 13.8 hours. Will be following you.

At 6:35 I went straight to the comments to see if Jacqui has commented on you acknowledging her rightness. Wow! That Tennent Creek terminal building newspaper clipping was all about the Lockheed Hudson VH-AGE that crashed there. It used to operate aerial survey for Adastra Aerial Survey's. My dad flew the Hudson for them when that happened - 1966. They were doing a test flight and took the local kid (pictured) up for a ride. An engine failed and for unknown reasons the pilot did a single engine go around on his return, the Hudson rolled over and in they went. So sad. A memorial was placed there in 2016 to mark 50 years as many of the boys family and locals are still there and were involved in recovery. The Hudson is notorious for challenging single engine low speed handling. Opposite rudder on full power with a critical engine failure is 200lbs or 90kg of force on the pedal to keep it straight. Great flight Stef.
Haha, she doesn't watch my General Aviation videos! Yeah that was a sad event, interesting your father was flying for them at the time as well. It definitely needs to be memorialised I'm just not sure if a public airport terminal is the right place for that. No need to scare passengers before they jump on a flight.
Having recently done a road trip Syd to Alice (and back), out via Mildura, back via Broken Hill, seeing the landscape from above was just beautiful! Can't beat those outback colours!

Thanks for the content Stef... definitely enjoyed it. I sniggered though when you said 4 1/2 hours was a long time in the cockpit... try 6+ hours in a single seat glider... that'll get your cockpit endurance up! I do agree though that the Murray is a significant crossing... but for me it's every time I cross back over it I feel a sense of accomplishment at having flown well into NSW and made it home, without touching the ground! Looking forward to more conent.
