    I want to recommend the Icon RXT leaf pack. Just installed it on my Tacoma and man! What a difference. It has Stage 1, 2 and 3 which allows you to install the extra leafs as you add more weight to the truck. I know Deaver is the best, but I couldnt wait 12 weeks (they are 15 minutes from my house) to have them do a custom pack. Check out the Icon leaf pack. Very satisfied.

      Chris G oh nice that sounds like a good kit for sure. I think eventually, if I need to, I’ll get an entirely new leaf pack. I’ll take a look though just so I am more knowledgeable of what’s available on the market

    Truck looks so Fng good leveled!!
    I’m curious, which setting is recommend on the front Shocks for the maximum lift the 5100s provide? I want to stick with the stock coils. I also wanted to add the rear leaf but if it rides rough I rather stick with a 1” block, do you think adding a block in the rear will make the rear feel rough as well?

    • @OFFTHEGRIND
      @OFFTHEGRIND  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the block makes it ride just a little different but it should be pretty close to stock. As for the settings up front with stock springs, you should be able to do the highest setting which I think is 2”. Anymore lift than 2” and you’ll have to get UCAs

      Nick Papa thanks! the 32s look just a little small to me. But I’m starting to get used to it. I did not do any shims or drops and i don’t not have any vibrations.

      @@OFFTHEGRIND After watching your video and doing some reading on Tacoma world I decided to lift the rear with Headstrong progressive 3 leaf AAL. I also used Eibach pro lift kit, driver 1/4 spacer, diff drop and 3 degree rear axle shim and kept my overload leaf in. I was worried that the rear was going to be stiff just like your truck. I am happy to tell you that the rear turned out perfect, I think is better that stock, smoother and very composed over bumps. I hope this helps...

    • @OFFTHEGRIND
      @OFFTHEGRIND  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Enache Papaianache i was off roading with someone recently with the three leaf pack and it was very noisy. The leafs started rotating as well. So keep an eye on that if you’re doing some harder off roading. I also read that the three leaf pack doesn’t use the overload spring and actually decreases payload. Since I haul with my truck a lot I chose to not go that route. I am glad it’s working for you and your use of the truck! I’ve used the truck a lot and I’m very happy with my setup

    Hey man truck looks unreal I have the exact same one. Just one question. What setting did you use on the 5100s? From what I’m ready on the bottom notch and the 887 is suppose to give you 3” of lift. I don’t haul much at all so I don’t want any take really at all. I want to look as level as possible.

    • @OFFTHEGRIND
      @OFFTHEGRIND  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      887’s on the bottom bitch is what I have and it was a 2” lift. If you did that and a one inch block in the back it should look level

  • @doubles259
    @doubles259 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hate to sound stupid but this lift is considered a 2/1 correct? Not 3in lift? I want to do this exact same setup on my 2020. Do you know if the 285/70/17s will rub. I'm looking at a 0 offset wheel. Thanks bud!

    • @OFFTHEGRIND
      @OFFTHEGRIND  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is actually considered a 2/2. You can get the OME 2888 springs for another half inch, but the UCAs are highly recommended at that point.
      The rubbing seems to be a case by case thing. Some people can do 2” lift in the front with zero offset wheels and be fine. Others rub. So that is hard to answer. Sorry

  • @BrooksyTech
    @BrooksyTech 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I know the cab setup effects the lift you get from the spring but I honestly don’t know for the extended cab. Headstrong off road has a chart that tells you how much lift you’ll get with your exact cab/bed setup. For 4 door short bed the 2887 are 2” lift. lol say goodbye to that ratchet your hammering. Grab a breaker bar or box end for that technique

    Nice video. How’s the ride? (Checking next video now)

      I’m the road I think it’s just a little more harsh. But it seems softer off road and over speed bumps.

      DavidJenk253 ahhh. Me and my wife test drove a 2017 Long Bed SR5 and then test drove a 2017 Short Bed Off Road and the short bed off road drove a hell of a lot nicer. Long bed was bouncy/jarring.
      Likely because it was a long bed? Or because the off road has the better shocks?
      I was/am tempted to buy the long bed and install the 5100’s. But if the shocks won’t help, then I guess I will look for a short bed. 🤷🏻‍♂️

      Road 'N Turf the suspension on the off road is definitely better. I don’t know if changing the shocks on there own would help much anyways. I think the bounciness I think is more down to spring rate. Could be wrong but I think that’s the case
      I know for sure the rear felt fine with the 5100 before the add a leaf was installed. The add a leaf made it pretty stiff

      DavidJenk253 I’m going to drag the wife to the dealer today to test drive a couple different trucks and see. But just to be clear, the only suspension difference between the sport and the off road is the shocks? Not a different spring rate.
      Cause if that’s the case, I will likely just do a Sport and then swap the shocks ASAP.
      I don’t go off road, but 4x4 would be nice for eventual snows. And maybe the occasional drive on my lawn.. 😂🤷🏻‍♂️

      Road 'N Turf haha oh I see then. Honestly man I couldn’t tell you for sure. I’d have to do some research to figure out what the exact difference is between the trucks.

    What setting is the 5100?

    • @OFFTHEGRIND
      @OFFTHEGRIND  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s on the stock setting or 0” clip. The OME 2887 springs is what gives it the lift

      vr812 thanks! I just uploaded part two where I install the add a leaf. So the stance is a bit different now

      DavidJenk253 nice set up. Just saw part 2. I like a little bit of that rake for hauling. Now you’re probably debating on 275 or 285 size tire 🤔. The mods don’t stop. Bed rack and roof top tent next.

      vr812 seriously! Haha. Yeah hopefully rack and tent and stuff this summer, but no new tires until these are worn out
