    Thank you so much for filming and sharing everything from the moment you get off the plane to you arrive at mainland. My boyfriend is taking off tomorrow from Canada to Shenzhen to visit his hometown and I was really curious and worried about what is all going to happen. This video was very helpful!

      +Andreas Varghjärta ok; just be aware that between presenting yourself to the ferry checkin and the ferry departure must be 60 min if you have checked baggage

    Hong Kong is also a Chinese city that attracted a lot of tourists in the past, but there have been too many violent protests in Hong Kong recently. Tourists are not recommended to stay in Hong Kong. For those who cannot find direct flight to mainland China, I personally recommend transiting through Hong Kong to mainland China. There is a high-speed railway. Tourists can travel from Hong Kong International Airport to Kowloon Station by Airport Express (this is a fast train but not the high-speed railway the media refers to), and then walk along a covered footbridge with good signage to the Hong Kong West Kowloon Station, which is the high-speed railway station. There are always sufficient seats on high-speed railway trains, so there is no need to reserve in advance. I recommend travelling by High Speed Rail to Futian Station which is in the CBD of Shenzhen. Then, tourists can certainly visit some other cities such as Shanghai, Chongqing and Xi'an.

    I was told that you had to be a transfer passenger in order to board this ferry to Macao, otherwise you will need to go thru immigration and once you are thru you will not be abler to get back to the ferry. This is a huge problem, because you will have to take land transportation to another ferry in HK in order to get on the ferry.

      Each pax arriving at HKG is allowed to take this ferry to Macau (if the pax has the right to enter Macau immigration-wise); pax can buy the ferry ticket at the counter before immigration

    Nice video indeed. By early 2018, Shekou New Ferry Point is like a brand new airport ....... a feeder bus take you to the nearest Metro / MRT / Subway station where you start to join the world famous Shenzhen Metro System and the famous national HSR.

    Great video. I have a question - I'll be living in china on a Z visa but I'm hoping to visit Hong Kong regularly. Will I need to apply for another separate visa to go back and forth from HK to Mainland? I'll be living just on the border.

    Informative video, I am finding a way to get to Shenzhen from HK airport and this seems to be the answer! How much is the ferry ticket?

    There are too many violent protests in Hong Kong. Tourists are not recommended to stay in Hong Kong. Instead, they can consider transiting through Hong Kong to Macau, Shenzhen and Zhuhai (a city in Guangdong province).

    If arriving at 7:20pm (19:20) on a Monday night, how much time do I need to give myself before the Ferry departs? Is 2 hours enough, or should I leave more time? Thanks for any experienced advice, and the helpful video.

    Haven't you tried CBX (Cross-Border Xpress in San Diego) yet? It's like Skypier, expect that you have to go to US exit control first and go to Mexico Immigration after crossing the bridge

    is the baggage from the plane moved into ferry straight forward?

    • @doc7austin
      @doc7austin  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Michael Ellowave yes, it is; the ferry companies will collect the bags themselves from the baggage claim at HKG after immigration, transfer the bags onto the ferry and then release the bags at Shenzhen Shekou port; the downside: you need to check in at least 60 minutes before departure of the ferry

    How would you be able to collect your luggage before immigration to access to the Ferry?

    • @doc7austin
      @doc7austin  8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The ferry company will pick up the bags after immigration, transfer it to the ferry, deliver it to pax at Shekou Shenzhen port right before Mainland China immigration/customs

    quick question. it's the only thing I can seem to find NO information on anywhere.
    If i have a checked bag, do I pick up the checked bag BEFORE I go to get my ferry ticket, or AFTER?
    I've been to HK airport before but not to take the ferry.
    If anyone can answer this in the next few days that would be awesome.
    Thanks

      i did see some answers to this below. according to what I read below, the ferry company is going to pick up my bags on the other side. How do they know which bags are mine? on the other hand I pushed my ferry ride back 3 hours from my landing just to be safe of getting everything in order.
      Do you think it would be possible to go through immigration, get my bags and then go to the ferry office or is that not possible?

    • @doc7austin
      @doc7austin  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The checked-in bags are delivered at the destination ferry port (e.g. Shekou, Macau ...) after you leave the ferry and before you pass through Mainland China/Macau entry customs and immigration checkpoint

    • @doc7austin
      @doc7austin  7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      you need to report to the ferry ticket desk at least one hour before the ferry departure. You need to hand them your baggage receipt from the airline. The ticket desk is located in airside arrival, before the Hong Kong entry immigration checkpoints; the ferry company staff is picking up your bag in the Hong Kong airport baggage claim area for you; you don't need to do anything

      awesome. great to know. thanks much for this quick reply. now i wish I didnt push my ferry ticket till 3 hours after arrival. any chance they would let me take an earlier one you think?

    • @christiansprenger6021
      @christiansprenger6021 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      So that means I do not have to prebook the ferry but can just, on my arrival, purchase the ticket, wait for one hour, board the ferry and pick up the luggage in Shenzhen?
      Sounds pretty need.
      Any link of information of the ferry?
