Surprised the BBC ever aired this, given how thoroughly Professor Harvey wiped the floor with her arguments.

Time to revisit this interview and check out how good his prediction was for 2020. We have been asleep for too long.

Now here we are 7 yrs laters, generations are expected to do LESS well than their parents + grandparents' generations. Post-covid life expectancies have declined. Hedge funds are the new landlords. Inflation is manipulated to pump profits and cost increases still outpace wages 😕

Yep, he called it. And we didn't even have to wait 50 years.

    Thanks professor Harvey.
You're a jewel brights the insight of dialectical materialism, which is enough to see all you're seeing, Sense all things in same way!

This is like an interview with anyone who questions the status quo. It allows the other person to answer but leaves no room for the possibility that they are right. Perhaps this is how we achieve incremental change…. By slowly letting in new narratives. It’s better than no alternative narratives that’s for sure.

"The Wall Street is gonna win" best to say.
Imagine this talks in 1435 AD. Professor, I have not heard you giving me examples of successful capitalist society?

David is really struggling to condense vast arguments into bit sizes chunks for a bit sized interviewer and audience.

    seriously
how do you explain to the morbidly rich
that they should prepare to be poor
in order for them to improve even their own prospects for existence.

The harbingers of collapse are everywhere. Israel is committing their final solution, dragging the American empire into a massive war which will collapse the global economy. Commercial real estate in America is beginning to fall apart, all the skyscrapers in US cities are due for refinancing in 2025. They’re already selling for 90% discount rates. Look it up. Private equity groups are buying everything. You can call him whatever you want but endless growth is not sustainable. Good luck

That's a pretty lame comment tbh, she's a journalist just bringing up common talking points about the issue which he answers clearly.

Yes. That’s perfectly obvious. I agree. He’s a globally known, perennially published author, and very popular speaker, podcaster, and so on and forth. However, in her defence, I’d say ( and I’m speaking as a Marxist, firmly in Harvey’s ‘ corner ‘ ) she strikes me as being considerably more erudite than enormous numbers of ‘ tame stream ‘ journalists. Have any of you seen the lamentable and juvenile manner in which Richard D. Wolff was treated when he stepped into the satanic lair that is…Fox ‘ News ‘ !?…

@@jack.a.driscollshe also has a ridiculous grin on her face when he tells her what Marxian analytic is versus a "belief system" as she quite stupidly puts it.
