Mavuika is her friend indeed but there is boundaries with mavuika because she is an archon, Citlali was glad she had us as another friend, but don't know how to face us hence makes her tsundere-ish because she rarely met a long lived being like us before, so like 'do i want to get deeper connection with the traveler? Is that ok? They are not going to die soon like others did right?' bcs she always push people around her so she don't have deeper connection with them and when they died she won't have that much emotional stress. I knew her entire marketing and settings maybe targeted for gooner self-insert Aether mains, but as a character? Kokomi slander is so based of you Having done with iktomi and then watched her teaser, her character makes alot of sense (mostly) We know from the AQ that she is essentially a shut-in, and the tribe shows respect + fear towards her. Her most meaningful connection seems to be ororon rn. Which is kinda like a parent-child, mentor-student thing, not an equal relationship. She also seems to get embarrassed very easily, and seems constantly anxious about what others think about her on the inside. At least for first time impressions + ppl she cares about. BC for other ppl, she's essentially given up to make them see her as her rather than her reputation. To others, she gives off a very cold face with flashes of hot temper. Ik most ppl are calling her gooner bait BC of the iktomi blushing thing, but honestly? With ororon, when she's embarrassed she gets angry to hide it and he can't do anything just like how a parent will get angry at a child rather than admit they are wrong. But BC traveller is an equal to her (after a very long time), she can't do that. Instead, she gets doubly embarrassed and anxious. And even if she does have a crush on the traveller, I get it. Here's a guy who has heard her inner thoughts, and her mess ups and hasn't thought badly of her. It's probably something that happened after so long for her. Also this had build up!!! We had a bunch of heart to hearts with her in the AQ. Most noticeably, ororon singles out traveller as someone who can deal with granny (BC of their equal standing) Her blushing at minor things is no different from her yelling and screaming at a drop of a hat, shes feels things very strongly our granny 😅 shes a chronic overthinker too lol Personally I feel like a better way to have done this would've been to keep things more subtle in iktomi, show us her in her professional setting, and then in her story quest we can meet her in personal settings and see her soften more. Even if they wanted to showcase it in iktomi, they fumbled iktomi's story by: 1) not showing ppl be more fearful towards her to show her isolation 2) at the end I believe to cover up her letting the criminal get away, she kinda pins it on ororon?? That was fucked up and left a bad taste in my mouth Additionally, her gameplay is very cutesy which is simultaneously; 1) funny AF, BC she's so feared while beating ppl with pillows 2) kind of a let down, BC she was hyped to be terrifying (DUALITY OF MAN OM) Tl,dr: Citlali is a compelling character, and her attachment to traveller makes sense from her lore, but the pacing should've been slower to ease the relationship in.
Personally I don’t dislike Citlali, actually Imma go further, I think she is one of the best done characters in Natlan, because everyone else either has one personality trait or basically none, lots of characters just got sidelined in the story (Kinich where you at?) We really don’t get to spend much time with anyone else except her and Mualani and Mavuika, and out of those three I think she was easiest to connect to and feel something for. Mavuika is just flawless which kinda makes her, at least imo, kinda boring, she is basically a strong leader… and nothing else is shown, only told. The only time we saw genuine worry or uncertainty on her face was in the animated short, other than that she is enacting her idealistic and flawed plan that works on luck basically and just saves the day everytime.

Whether aether or lumine, i can understand the story reasoning but it honestly feels like a decent enough cover for the self insert bait-as if the traveler was created first, and then citlali's main character point was made around the traveler, not as if she was created as a separate character free from waifu bait. Her story, even if not unique (like that matters), is sad and bittersweet. She gets to see the children around her grow into adults and elders, but she's also unable to do that herself. She gets to read novels across decades, things she wouldn't have the chance to if she was a normal human (?), but what does a few book series matter over connection and having people you won't always outlive? It's an interesting, decently new story to tell with longer lived characters, similar to furina in the sense of a god or otherwise immortal being desiring nothing more than to be human. There's not a lot that can be done to screw this soon-to-be-trope up, and not even citlali's simpage can completely ruin that. But again, given how much wiggle room genshin leaves for self insert aether players (bcuz you really don't see lumine players doing that, at least if they do they aren't loud and annoying about it), there's a whole list of characters that are implied to simp for the traveler. It wouldn't be perceived nearly as badly if the traveler had a more solid, visible personality rather than the devs trying to make them both a blank slate and a separate character-if it isn't an undertale or deltarune situation with the protagonist being distinctly separate and at conflict with the player, then it probably won't work. Nobody actually hates aether, people gush over him all the time, people can just see the difference between when aether appears as himself and when he's meant to be the player, and that's where the upset is. Not to mention how quick aether mains are to ship and pretend every single person that dares to be a woman in teyvat is obsessed with him, as if being friends is impossible. Hey, if genshin didn't do what they did at the end of the iktomi scrolls event, people probably would've seen this more platonically or as found family, and been less bothered by it. That's really the best version of that pairing, either as a new friend for citlali to have knowing aether/lumine won't keel over from old age before her, or as a family member she can confide endlessly in. Sometimes fanservice isn't necessary, and can ruin things that have a greater potential when left alone. Even Ororon could've made more sense.
I got his C1 recently and tbh I haven’t noticed a difference - however… I did do abyss better after the C1 upgrade so maybe I didn’t notice it but it was there - if that makes sense? I’ve found a VV user, Furina & Xilonen on his team make his damage the most. So is definitely recommend that team comp over his C1. I already had those so put a few wishes onto the banner and got lucky with his c1 but wouldn’t have put more than 50 wishes into it if I hadn’t got lucky. It isn’t needed at all in my opinion.
I like the 2 new characters on the same phase tbh, it forces people to actually think about what characters they want and not stupidly get every character (which 30% of them they end up not using anyway)

i am on 76 pity, should i go for neuvi c1? I don't have Farina, xilonen or R1 but have kazuha, i have 2 DPS, Neuvi and arlechhino.

I got his C1 recently and tbh I haven’t noticed a difference - however… I did do abyss better after the C1 upgrade so maybe I didn’t notice it but it was there - if that makes sense?
I’ve found a VV user, Furina & Xilonen on his team make his damage the most. So is definitely recommend that team comp over his C1.
I already had those so put a few wishes onto the banner and got lucky with his c1 but wouldn’t have put more than 50 wishes into it if I hadn’t got lucky. It isn’t needed at all in my opinion.
depends on if you want to invest into your neuvi , or save in order to pull for another character, to have more team options !

I like the 2 new characters on the same phase tbh, it forces people to actually think about what characters they want and not stupidly get every character (which 30% of them they end up not using anyway)
