- Villingen-Schwenningen is a city located in Germany in the southwest of the Land of Baden-Württemberg. With around 81,000 inhabitants, the municipality is the largest in the Black Forest-Baar district.
The particularity of the city lies in the fact that it consists of two entities corresponding to two formerly independent towns, namely Villingen and Schwenningen. The two former municipalities merged in 1972 to become Villingen-Schwenningen. Another particularity is geographical: between the two old towns less than 5 kilometers apart, runs along a north-south axis the watershed between the North Sea (to the north) and the Black Sea (to the east).

@@jovanbajceta2814 Es gibt schon noch welche und auch schöne, die halt nicht so offensichtlich wie innerhalb Villingens Stadtmauern sind. Aber halt auch leider viele vermeintlich moderne Bausünden aus verschiedenen Jahrzehnten dazwischen gepaart mit fragwürdiger Verkehrsführung an manchen Stellen.

The city is very quiet. Architecture wonderful. Hardly any car traffic in the center. Many pubs, many stores. People anonymous. Everyone goes his own way. No spontaneous new acquaintance of strangers.

The quaint beauty of these German and Austrian villages just blows me away. There is nothing like this in North America, are cities are frankly too ugly and bland to compete with Europe.
