Patched 1.31: The kettenkrad communication cables upgrade no longer give boosted resources. It gives a capture rate bonus and extra vision around the flag of the point once captured.
A word of advice for newer players: When capturing on the opponent's side, don't fall into the 'capture at all costs' pitfall. Even if you are about to complete the capture, losing a squad or multiple models for it is often not worth the few seconds of ressources denied. Instead, try to neutralize the point (when it goes back to white) and get to the closest and heaviest cover. It'll force your opponent into 2 situations where you'll win a lot more: -Either the opponent will try to capture the point which means his units will have to get closer and often outside of cover where you can deal some good damage. -Or he'll stay behind cover to fight your squad which means he won't be able to capture until your squad retreats which may even force him to send another squad and it denies the ressource even longer than if you capped and retreated.

I'm looking forward to the new game economy and the utility vehicle cap bonus I think plays a good part in it. The wait to cap crowd might be getting a rude awakening when opponents rush your major fuel/muni points and take out the ketten helped by the resource deficit you run yourself into at the start. On the other hand, the cool thing about that delayed capping order is you'll see axis wehrmacht rush manpower/vp more often than just both the fuel points on the map.

Hey, two questions regarding the attack-move command (Default Key: Q): 1. Can this be used to swap targets? So if two enemy units are in range of my unit, does using attack-move on/near one of them have my squad prioritize them? If yes: Does this also hold true for MGs, Mortars and PAKs? 2. Does a unit "chase" after a unit they have engaged when I used attack-move? In case I simply right-clicked an enemy; if that enemy retreats, my unit will chase them down, which is not desireable. Will attack-move keep my unit glued to their spot until further commands (which would be desireable)? This is especially important to prevent MGs from packing up.
Is there a difference between capping with all character models standing in the circle vs only one model? This way you could get even closer to the next point to cap
The beta was ridiculous. I don't know if they've updated it, but you could combine the Ketten upgrade with an obs point and a scout car if I remember right and go from +5 fuel on one point to like +20.

I still can't over how similar it looks to previous games. I don't know what i expected but this looks like basically an interface mod. Granted, previous games already looked great so it's not a problem anyway.
Right ... new game ... we need to break out the day1 CoH2 tutorials again ... :DDDDD The literally single only thing here that is new is the information-bit about exact cap-speeds and the Kettenkrad-upgrade

Yes, thats so sad. Yesterday i wasnt aware of that change. Lose the whole game within minutes cause my early routine was ruined^^'

I only play singleplayer and yet this were actually useful for the campaign..

Ketten upgrade seems OP already haha. I hope the Ket can't spot mines while moving again either, that seemed pretty ridiculous in CoH1
