    I'm rewatching this years later while preparing for ENARSI and just to refresh knowledge I haven't needed to use for a while. Thank you for everything you do, Kevin.

    well I found you like one of those teachers who explain much tougher topics with fun stories and real life examples, and it becomes so easy to get your concepts cleared. wow that animation of tunnel was great work and certainly helped. I wish you have similar animation for spanning tree,

    Cool video but i found some problems with your explanation to how to config it.
    imo it should be explained liek this for router 1
    1) create tunel /30 - for router 2 use other ip address from same subnet
    2) tunnel source
    3) tunel destination
    !!!4)add static route to via !!!
    And vice a versa for router 2 config.

  • @vahoramahamadali4915

    well, that's a great video, but I have a couple of questions. did you advertised tunnel address or loopback address in eigrp? if you then why eigrp not advertise those routes with neighbor routers?
    secondly, how to configure a tunnel using a static route in the tunnel itself ??
    I tried to configure a tunnel with OSPF and I advertised loopback interface as well, tunnel came up, up but I couldn't able to ping remote Lan.

    Hey Kevin!
    i want to know why you didnt specifie the tunneling mode ? does the router choose GRE automatically or what ?
    if yes why doesnt it choose another tunneling mode like ISATAP ?

    What is the difference with Vpn ?

    • @jorgeorozco935
      @jorgeorozco935 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is no difference is just that tend to think that VPN comes encrypted by default but different protocols makes it to be encrypted for example IP SEC, mentioned in this video

    Shouldn't your tunnel source be the internet-facing interface and the tunnel destination be the remote routers public IP address? If you use loopback address or local IP address, the routers won't know how to reach each other over the internet. This configuration doesn't make sense.

    • @josephtillman8639
      @josephtillman8639 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah, totally makes sense. It is interesting that in all of my CCNA study, I only ever saw the GRE tunnel implemented as as solution to connect a branch to HQ over the internet. Not a single implementation within an organization's network like you show here. Thank you.

    • @josephtillman8639

      My Tunnel is up and pingable, however traffic still goes through the other routers instead of choosing the tunnel. Using eigrp

    Thanks for this very quick and effective tutorial on what this concept it. I just heard about it 15 minutes ago and now have a thorough understanding of what it's for. More instructional videos ought to emulate your methods. Cheers! :)
