I play what i think of as "I Am Legend" Mode where it's sprinter zombies but they're only active at night. Can spend the day looting and picking zombies off before rushing home before 8pm. Gets very tense, especially if you crash on the way home and have sneak back before nightfall.
@@menh292 Sure, canonically the virus hits around the 6-7 July so I start the game a day later with abundant loot and regular helicopters/events. Virus transmission is bites only, zombie type is sprinters with super strength and only active at night and I always start injured and in a doctor's office (like how 28 days later starts). That's how I play but there's so many options I'd recommend playing with the settings menu and seeing what's the most fun for you.
@kailen You'll always get fucked trying to find a sledgehammer though. At least I do. I've played for over 50 hours and I have never found a sledgehammer in the game. I'm seriously considering that the spawning might be bugged. 50 hours isn't a lot compared to most people who play this game of course. But 50 hours is just way too long without being able to find of the most useful items in the game. I did regret not having chosen electrician though. Scoured through literally all houses and libraries, or places with bookshelves in west point and didn't found a single magazine. I then read you could find them in mailboxes, so went through all houses again and eventually found it. But jesus christ...
I kinda wish that they added a type of zombie between “Fast Shamblers” and “Sprinters”. Like, a zombie that you could outrun by jogging, but still had to move faster then a simple walk to avoid.
A run with the strongest, best hearing, sight and memory but slowest zombies, population and respawn cranked up to 11 would be a fun challenge! One would think that it's easy but you end up not being able to visit some places at all unless very well prepared
I've tried it, but honestly when you have shamblers you just lure them out with alarms and never fight as you can walk away even when exhausted. It's frustrating more than fun
Another great way to play is use rewarding night combat along with night time sprinters. You can use the dying light night sounds mod to add some extra fear. The zombies have normal hearing, poor sight, normal toughness and strength, plus fast shambles during the day. But during the night they have pinpoint hearing, great sight, tough, extra strength, and obviously sprint. Night fall changes depending on the seasons so you’ll have to adapt to the time change as well. I personally play with damage severity set to high and no infection for the player. Being the last person alive but immune to the disease.
Just wanted to say I appreciate everything you do on this channel and you're the reason I gave this game a chance. On a side note in reference to any content you are planning or if you are looking for ideas for new videos, I think a good challenge would be if you make the zombie pop 5-10% sprinters and leave the rest as fast shamblers but increase the overall pop and memory of the zombies. In my opinion this would create the additional problem of you having to defend your property if an area has not been cleared and it adds increased intensity since you cant always expect to be allowed to just turn and shoot because of the sprinters, additionally I think this would remove the bug problem or lighten it at the very least ( the bug I'm referring too is the zombies tripping over one another when sprinting after a grab attempt) I know this is a long read but if you're still here at the end whoever you are I'd love to hear your input and if you're reading this Predz big thanks to you no matter what you decide to do for your future series!
I've been following 3 zomboid series and this include yours, you guys doing three different runs and I enjoy most of yours cos this game play is the closest to what I have been playing for days. Keep them episodes coming! I'm enjoying the small steps to survive. Have fun!
Imo saliva-only infection when playing with sprinters is a good move. In normal PZ, it's harder to make fuck ups that get you hit; but with sprinters, the games controls are just kind of...bad. It's not built for it. Like the keys to transition from running to sprinting are clunky asf. If you set your alt sprint to be hold down instead of toggle, tapping alt will actually slow your person down for a fraction of a second. Saliva-only infection is just a little compensatory cushion that won't even save your most of the time, as most deaths result from you being surrounded and torn to shreds lol
What would be neat is adding defensive traps like spikes, barbed wire to slow zombies down and that actually work and not just for show or cosmetics, kind of like 7dtd, the infected or the forest.
Hey man, Super psyched to see you making more content. I love your chill vibes and was following since day one of the 1000 days challenge. Its remarkable how much your quality and skill has improved since then. You are one of the only PZ creators I watch, and I always am happy to see more videos from you, good stuff, man.
Your format is great, the right amount of speaking, quiet time, fast forwarding, and my favorite; no screaming. Jesus I can't stand the players who scream like they're actually being attacked IRL.
I drop pop to .15 on sprinter playthroughs but buff them immensely by letting them open doors, also lower loot drastically forcing a nomadic style of play, altogether creating a dope 28 Days Later like game 🤘
great video bro! only criticism i could offer is to maybe include a running day counter in the corner of the screen to help keep the timeline more clear
Wanting to get into this game after the 1000 days video! What would the best traits in your opinion! Would love to see a 100 days of this! Maybe a challenge where you can only use what you make?
Honestly don't think too much about how to play the game "in the best way possible". Just get into it! Try different things. Learn what all the traits do. Find out what it is you like vs don't like. You have a specific playstyle that differs from other people, so the kind of traits you take will also differ. Also depending on what your settings are they will change too. For example I've started playing with 10% sprinters, and my trait selection is totally different from when I play with regular fast shamblers. The best thing to do is to learn the trait system by heart so that you can choose and change your traits with relative ease depending on how you are playing.
Helpful tip: If u have panic you can sit down and fast forward time and this will reduce panic when you for example have the klaustrophobic trait. I mean with this method of sitting next to a bed in a small bedroom it is possible to sleep without betablockers. Also nice video and big respect for the attempt of 100 days sprinters. Can not wait for the 1000 days actually sprinters. You would be a mad man if you do this ;)
if you really hate your community, remember randomizing the zombies behaviors is always an option. from shamblers to sprinters to crawlers, to fast shamblers as well as durability thrown in makes every encounter a nightmare. That being said, i'm perfectly happy with the shambling and massive zombies that are still littering LV and Valley Station for some reason was balls to the wall packed with zeds.
I've been playing with sprinters, but they are only active during the day, I also use the pitch-black setting during the night. You are either getting swarmed in daylight or fumbling around in the dark.
I'm halfway through the video and I look at you watch. Almost noon, in Kentucky, in August, and it's 60 degrees????? Did the seasons start sprinting too?!?!

I think higher pop with zombie behavior tweaks is more interesting, like upping the rally group numbers and follow sound distance, with increased meta events and so on, so there are bigger more active herds
I agree with the fact that the full sprinters is not interesting, which is why I've gotten into using 10% sprinters. I like that most of the gameplay follows using tactics you'll use for regular fast shamblers, but you also need to change your fighting style to accommodate those sprinters coming at you. There's a lot more watching your six, checking doors and corners, and having to peel back when sprinters come out of a horde. You also need to take different traits so you have to build a character that emphasizes sprinting speed and fitness, rather than building a fighting unit lmao. If you haven't given it a try I would certainly recommend it.

i really hate the claustrophobic trait.
like who panics while being in an open room? answer. no one thats actually lived in a house. maybe tribal people would.
but overall its a terribly handled perk and one of the worst in the game.
Im claustrophobic and i dont feel any fear in small rooms. I guess its because i know i can leave at any time. True claustrophobia sets in when in a tight space with no way out
