      I simply want ullmark to bring stable goaltending… no need to be extraordinary, simply constant. We need a new goalie like Craig anderson to bring stability in the net. I saw your tweet about the sens record when having .900% saves/+ and it explains the situation perfectly. How many times have we seen a bad goal last year in the first 2min of the game or when the sens were trailing by 1? Too many and it destroyed their chance at playoffs.

    If he signs an extension July 1st, it's a big win for us! My worry now is the Bruins using that pick to offer sheet Pinto since they seemed to really want him.

    I actually liked Kastelic. Wanted to see him grow here. He was great at faceoffs and is a large dude. Never used his size accordingly though. He should do well in Boston's system.
    All Sens goalies were equally bad. To me that means the team structure is what failed. Korpi will do so much better in Boston and I'm assuming Boston will trade him once he returns to form.

    • @alfiesmullet1311

      I liked Kasti too, but we have Chartier who can fill that 4th line center role just as well

    It’s a fine trade- I’m a bit worried about an expensive extension before he’s shown what he can do here. His career numbers are solid but he’s never played 50 games in a season as a full time starter. Getting out of korpisalos contracts is a win on its own though. I’m not going to get too excited until I see what happens with the rest of the roster which has clearly been the larger issue imo

    • @SENSTALK

      Agreed getting out of Korpi’s contract is the win. The rest we’ll just have to wait and see !

    Happy about it but.....lets not get too excited just yet....remember we were thinking the same when Sens signed Korpisalo....Cam Talbot, Matt Murray.. to be disappointed not long after. Not a bad deal for either. Think SENS got the best of it but Boston can't be mad at what they got, filled in some holes that needed filling.

    • @Admistt
      @Admistt หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      LMAO what holes did they fill? a 4th liner who doesn't really produce? An overpayed goalie, who was one of the worse in the league last year?

    • @Steve-xf4uv
      @Steve-xf4uv หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Admistt The Bruins feel they needed an experienced goalie who could probabvly improve his stats if he was a backup and only playing 40 some games or less. They are a defensive oriented team and that is why they ASKED for Kastelic. This comes from the Bruins not me.

    • @hockeytalk6084
      @hockeytalk6084 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      No disrespect but they didn’t fill any needs they actually shot themselves in the foot. Horrific trade for Boston. They shipped off their best trade asset in exchange for the worst goalie contract in the NHL (that no one else would take, even Boston wouldn’t take it last summer) and their OWN first round pick that they gave away at the deadline last year to get Bertuzzi. In no world is this good for Boston. You guys FLEECED us. And when he resigns in Ottawa it’ll be even more hilariously bad

    Ulmark will not sign long-term unless the Sens commit to a more defensive style, and i don't see that happening, the 1st has solid value, Bruins have a plan, no one was fleeced here

    While I hope that this is a steal I'm cynical. I'll wait and see if Ulmark is good in Ottawa. Korpisalo was supposed to be a great trade too.

    • @hockeytalk6084
      @hockeytalk6084 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It’s an overblown and even demonstrably false idea that Ullmark was only good because of the Bruins defense. He posted a winning record on one of the worst teams in history and has a career 920 save percentage. He was good before he got to Boston
