“Interesting” in English has no related secondary meaning. Good things can be interesting, bad things can be interesting, anything can be interesting if you find that the subject gets your attention and you are curious to know more about it.
Thank you for an excellent video! Right now I am studying Chinese every day. I'm at an advanced beginner level, so this topic was perfect for my abilities. I like the way you mix Chinese and English. Your spoken Chinese is clear and natural -- I can understand it! I subscribed to your channel and I hope you post many more videos like this. 非常好!
啦啦,这个视频很有意思。 但是恐怕我还是没有把”有意思”用对。 我也想要知道我是否把”恐怕”放到句子里正确的地方。 当然,我祝你的TH-cam频道成功! Although I’m not exactly a Chinese learner, it has gotten rusty as I haven’t been speaking it much. Your channel is very helpful for people like me and I appreciate it greatly.
哇!你的句子非常好!!!👍 It just needs a small adjustment to make the grammar more accurate:我也想知道我是否把”恐怕“放到了句子里正确的地方(or:位置wèi zhì ) Thanks so much for your kind comment!!!
This is also a lesson in English. Unfortunately, the English hypocrite meaning of "interesting" has invaded my maternal language. In the 90s no one would use interesting to express disinterest. Another reason to learn Chinese
I would say that interesting can be thought of as different and therefore worthy of further investigation or attention, which can be good or bad.
Hi Greg. Thanks for explaining that! I really appreciate it.

好的,没问题👍
A doctor can say "that disease can kill a person in one day, that is very interesting!"
I don’t know if it’s regional difference but 有意思 can surely mean interesting in a bad way, exactly as in English.
