ZeRo, the best in the world; won 56 tournaments in a row, some without dropping games. Few able to scratch him. A tournament winning streak seemingly impossible to break. Finally broken by one of his greatest rivals, and best friend.
2016 Silverado I’m saying I don’t see how it’s in anyways deep therefore I don’t think his commentating is intelligent, deep and meaningful like everyone acts. Nice try at being condescending yet failing at reading comprehension. Take your own advice.
Cameron Reese It’s not supposed to be deep. It’s supposed to be hype. Hyped up commentators that make you feel like they’re as interested as you are in the match make a big portion of every games’ esports popularity.
Great documentation of ZeRo's dominance and the set up was incredible. You guys are great at setting up storylines. Side note: EE is a legend, this man brings out creative hype on the fly almost every time he commentates
Don’t see how people can hate on these two players (zero and nairo). We need hype players like nairo and optimal players like zero to keep the game fun and exciting for spectators.
It's shifting in a more balanced area honestly. I doubt he'll ever have problems of serious hate or anything of that nature due to the number of his fans heavily outweighing the number of people that dislike him, although it's definitely notable that this year, his reputation among the community is often challenged by a lot of people disliking his way of killing with rage ZSS or simply bandwagoning hate because well known hype player. This mostly happens because of fanbases dedicated to these players, and due to Nairo's huge fanbase, it often gains a bad rep because there's so many Naifus defending him which people overreact about. Some people like Nairo but the Naifus, some people dislike both. Nine times out of ten it's always for petty reason(s). Unless a player has done some literal to offend you, or generally has an attitude you don't like then it's understandable but otherwise, for those that are friendly/approachable and give back to the community, it's mostly baseless.
Yeah but at the same time many of us hold this mentality of being sick and tired of seeing the same person at number 1 all the time, especially if you're not a fan in the first place. Eventually you try to look for an excuse to justify your hatred/dislike when there technically isn't one. I imagine this makes up a large portion of haters for ZeRo, plus combined with his mastery of the neutral, which pisses people off because they want back & forth action most of the time or flashy play with high risk (Nairo). I personally I'm not a fan of ZeRo but definitely don't hate him, got mad respect for the guy for his dedication to Smash and his tolerance to take the crap he gets. Would be nice if in 2018, people can grow up a little and actually appreciate the smart playstyles shown to us all from more than one angle.
I love it when esports athletes show a sense of humbleness and humility. Just as in other sports, shit talking might be "hype", but respect speaks volumes
It shows you just how dominant of a force he is/was, and how he pushes the game forward by pushing his opponents and friends to improve their respective gameplay.
I know what you mean but in this case it's not Gonzalo Barrios and Nairobi Qeuzada, it's ZeRo and Nairo, battling for the top. This is just about their accomplishments and I still respect them for this
Solar Aqua true but I feel a little bad for ZeRo. His situation wasn’t as bad as the others, but he’s on a visa, he could get deported. And I don’t know how that would affect Vanessa.
The sheer sportsmanship between them is admirable. No salt. Just pure respect, it's rare in the FGC. Take a moment and appreciate this. And be excellent to each other, no matter what level you're at in any game. Respect goes a long way and you'll learn more from that than being emotive.
I've been waiting for this....we need some more Smash stuff! This was really well done and I hope you guys continue to put more of these ICONIC series out.
Toxic Lightning lol. The joke is the word "chamionship" instead of "championship. This is an inside joke involving ally, as Ally's EVO trophy mistakenly said "chamion" instead of "champion". It's been a running gag and has also been referenced during civil war.
There's one moment that makes me love zero. When he lost. He was happy that he did. He raised the opponent's hand up and let the world know that he has lost for the first time in a while. The respect of that moment makes me love him more then i do already
Who the hell is [REDACTED]? [REDACTED] got a 67 winstreak before losing to ESAM's ZSS. Edit: Sorry boys, turns out I was wrong. Dabuz, Void, MKLeo or Larry Lurr got the streak.
Zero got a 67 tournament streak Nario ended the win streak Esam never picked up zzs I think he played pikachu and samus. I hope this helps clear things.
Yoooo I've been watching this channel to learn about other esports sc new cause I'm a smash fan, but I'm glad to see that there's smash content aswell! Hope there's more in the works!
Really hope to see more smash videos on here. The best one I can think of are Mango's 2014 summer where he became the GOAT. Emphasis on MLG, Evo, and Big House. Also Leffen's GOML 2016 insane run or PPMD at Apex 2015, the last tournament he won before his departure. Or even Armada reclaiming best player. This was definitely the best Smash 4 story to put. But there are other good ones coming I'm sure.
Amazing vid! On an unrelated note you guys should make a video about commentators for some of these iconic events, sometimes the commentary is what makes the moment memorable not even the gameplay.
This is and will always be one of the greatest rivalries in Smash history. Sad asf and extremely disappointing on how their careers ended, but glad I witnessed Nairo rise in MLG 2015.
MLG 2015 Grand Finals was the match that got me into watching competitive Smash. I never understood sports fans because I was never interested in any sports. But watching that, I finally understood. I found my sport.
bro mad respect to zero for showing such good sportsmanship. Gave this man a hug, shook his hand, and then raised his fist in the air like "bro you deserve this pop off, go crazy."
i think it's natural for people when seeing someone completely dominating to want them to lose and thus root for the underdogs, it's more entertaining to us as humans. i don't think anyone ever really hated zero as a person but rather they hated his win streak and wanted someone to break it knowing how hype it would be
I hope you guys keep making awesome content like this. Suggestion: Evo 2014. BlazBlue Top 3. Galileo's amazing run, and one of the greatest Grand Finals in history.
"We dont need shovel knight in the game. Nairo digging graves him damn self."
Greatest line ever!
EE is the best commentator across all esports. I'm not even mainly a sm4sh fan but some of his quotes are amazing
This line was godlike
I mean I still want Shovel Knight in smash, but great line nonetheless
ovaloctopus8 “skeet skeet, watergun. Zero your time is done”

You said it, Hydro. And yeah, Nairo and Naifus get some hate. Prominent example is Twitch chat, but it's not too bad.
zero got hate due to him stating the Diddy Kong was trash and than maining him once the tier list was showing Diddy was a top tier character.

Whatever you think about Zer0 you gotta respect him gracefully acepting his loss, hugging and holding up niaros hand
Thinking about it, most iconic moments in Smash 4 involve Zero in some capacity
It shows you just how dominant of a force he is/was, and how he pushes the game forward by pushing his opponents and friends to improve their respective gameplay.
ZeRo is Smash 4.
Including his long-awaited exposure and permanent departure from Smash.

ICONIC Esports Moments: Nairo Ends His Own Incredible Career - MLG 2020 (Smash)

Oh there was Destruction alright. Destruction of their careers.
Great vid mate, shows that Smash 4 has some fantastic Esports moments too
Y’all remember the time Samsora got a 56 tournament win streak in Smash 4 but MKLeo broke it
I have not heard that
Damn. Being the best has its con. Everyone is out for you and when someone finally defeats you you’ll have to remember it for the rest of your life.

Disagree. M2K had a clear stranglehold on brawl.
Near the end of Brawl Nairo was undoubtedly the best.
Overall, I can see M2K holding the title though despite the final rankings saying otherwise.

Pretty sure Armada was #1 at melee.
