What app did you have to go on and why did you not need a visa? I’m planning a trip soon and will have a layover in Tokyo.
I have a US Citizenship, so I don't require a visa to enter the country (I'd check if your country is visa exempt) While going through immigration, we had to scan a QR code and fill in our details here: www.vjw.digital.go.jp/main/#/vjwplo001
I also noticed the website has a chat option that maybe you could try out!

Hi Shubhi, First your video was really good. I will have a layover @ Haneda Airport as well while traveling to the USA. I have a USA tourist VISA, Please tell me how did you cross Japan immigration? You mentioned some app in the video...can you please provide more info to how to exit the airport without a Japan transit VISA? Thanks.

@@shubhigautam Baba - you need to be a citizen of the 4 dozen or so Japan visa waiver countries. This includes the US and the ritz countries... if you're from India - still need visa you do Baba.

I trust you are US citizens sir/madam? And it was a breeze (no Visa) to go through immigration? Was there a line and how long did it take you to go through security and immigration?
Yessssir I am! There was a bit of a line actually - we were probably waiting for 45mins-1hour. But still had more than enough time to roam around :)
