This truly a wonderful act, and shows the depth and talent of the Australian acrobatic performers in the 1930's. Acts like this set a tradition for Australian acrobats, with their fast spectacular acrobatics. The act is particularly special because of the big roll played by the female performers.
0:24 no kidding... WOW!!!!! Interesting that the 'girls' play slightly more vital roles in the act than I'm used to seeing of that time. They catch as well as hold. Amazing footage!!!!
The brothers were Alf, Tom and Phil, all Australian-born but all deceased now, in the USA. The sister Golda does not apear in this footage. She was a wirewalker but forced to retire due to a critical injury. If you would like to share any more memories, you can contact me at markstleon@bigpond.com.
WOW! I knew the Honey Brothers very well in the 40's and early 50's.They lived with their wives, Mother and Father and at least one sister (Golda). The house was a huge Victorian at Wyckoff Ave and Clinton Ave in Wyckoff NJ. My friend Cy Pendleton and I hung out there. The brothers appeared at least twice on the Ed Sullivan Show. What fun they were!
