  • We'll look at the new hatchet chainsaw from milwaukee. Is it a must have or a gimmick? Is it quality? Lets take a look.

    I love how a chainsaw review starts with bandaged finger.

    Thanks for keeping it honest. I apreciate tool reviews that try to find faults in tools. Constructive criticism for the tool company, and goes to show you’re not a paid actor/ fanboy

      Nope, not paid. Bought the tool with the same deals anyone else could get.
      That said, In all honesty I’m genuinely all about Milwaukee and Snap-on Tools. I strive for objectivity. Glad it showed. Thank you.

    Work for a stihl dealer. The reason you can't find them is that they sell out as soon as they get them. We can only order 2 a day. However I'm the mechanic and I waited to get the Milwaukee its a much better tool in almost every way. Also use thick oil for the bar/chain. Bar oil pours like honey.

      Well there we have it guys, straight from the Stihl mechanic.

    I purchased this item because the gardening contractors that have been pruning my shrubbery done a very lazy job. I now have oversized hedges and small trees with thick branches. Im also disabled so I dont have much stamina and strength to use manual tools I once did. This tool is expensive but gave me the ability to prune the plants the way I wanted and not left with a garden that looked neglected.

    I have a ton of overgrowth in my yard, and bought my hatchet for the same reason you did, and I have zero complaints. I put it through its paces the first day, and it did everything I asked of it. I will mention, since you asked, that I used canola oil based on a recommendation, since I'm using branches from one tree for a parrot stand, and I didn't want to run the risk of introducing something toxic into his environment. I'm still hoping I didn't do the wrong thing using that kind of oil, but my hatchet seemed to perform very well, so I suppose it's okay. I think I made a good purchase.

    According to the price, these are high quality tools. I've seen a few people compare hacksaws to chainsaws, but it's apples and oranges. Hacksaws are for pipes. If I took my recip' out to the forest, my arms would fall off from the vibrations. Chainsawing hurts my elbows as it is.

    Can't thank you enough for this video! Since this little saw is a newer product, was hesitant to purchase. Been struggling and frustrated with the Makita Sawzall and now I know why! Bought a pole saw (not the DIY type -😆) But I'm 5'2 and it's a little unwieldy for me. Found your super helpful video and on my way to Home Depot. Thanks again!

    I have the Stihl but the battery platform is just not there...switched to the m12 hatchet and love it, I already have plenty of 6.0 batteries so it was a no brainer

    I bought my Hackzall specifically for cutting the Coyote Willow that takes over my yard every year. I used a good quality pruning blade in the Hackzall. After buying the Hatchet, I can say the Hatchet is hands-down a better tool for pruning in every way over the Hackzall! I can't say I miss the Hackzall vibrating my hand to numbness either. The Hatchet cuts faster, smoother, easier, bigger and longer. Love it! It has a permanent place in my camp gear, and aboard my RZR. As for bar oil; since I already have it, I use Stihl oil. It's thicker, AND super sticky, which is what you need for a chain. The Hatchet's 1.7oz reservoir doesn't last very long, and the Hatchet seems to use quite a bit of oil even when using a proper thick bar/chain oil. I can imagine having to refill it every third cut if you're using a thin oil...

      I got some Stihl oil as well. Honestly it all lasts about the same.

    I use a multi-material blade on smaller branches (more cutting,less vibration) , and a Diablo pruning blade on bigger branches.

    Great video like many others have said, I like the honest feedback, good, bad, or ugly, and your insights along with a worthwhile and very helpful comparison/ contrast with the M-18 Fuel Hackzall. Regarding the Hackzall blades, I’m wondering if you’ve tried any of the Milwaukee Ax Blades with Carbide teeth, and If so, what was your impression?

    It's fun to use I'd say it's more of a practical toyish tool . It's nice for cutting small campfire wood. One handed operation is nice. I think they need to make a arborist 1 handed m18 14" saw

  • @kartboarder22g17
    @kartboarder22g17 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I don't have a one handed recip but have to pull out the two handed recip but then it is nice to hold the branch with another hand and yes all the bucking you get doesn't make it that fun. I bought one of these to see if it will be better. I dont have a need for a large chainsaw so this fit the bill.

    I've read that with this power-hungry tool, you'll appreciate the extra power afforded by a 6AH battery. With a 4AH battery, there's a bit too much voltage sag.

    • @texacajundiy
      @texacajundiy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m sure the 6ah would be nice, but I have one heavily landscaped acre. Trimmed the whole thing with one 4ah battery & what happy with the output.

    • @WeldingForJesus
      @WeldingForJesus 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not having tried this particular tool, I would say the 4 and the 6 differ more in runtime than in power output, same way as the 2 vs the 3ah

    Hi, I am writing to you from Italy, I am in love with Milwaukee products, I own several tools, from socket wrenches, flat wrenches, M12 Fuel impact drill, I was considering buying this little M12 saw to power some shafts but I'm not sure if it is a product that is worth the (high) price it costs, do you recommend this little saw or is it a waste of money? I would not like it to be a toy instead of a valid tool, can you honestly advise me?

    • @texacajundiy
      @texacajundiy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I only use sawzall/jigsaw type tools as a last resort. That said, sometimes they are just the right tool.
      The m12 saw has good stroke length and good power. The newer ones have a slave gear that counters the strain on the drive gear (they can take more abuse). I’m 240# and muscular. If I’m not aggressively holding it, when it binds it pulls me around.

    Well, the non-fuel M12 hackzall is a useless piece of rubbish, poor even at it's designed tasks. I've never tried a fuel hackzall but I can't imagine it being much better.
    I really like my M12 hatchet, it's trimmed up my yard and 2-3 friends yards and everyone has been really happy with the performance and results.

    • @tylermcelwain
      @tylermcelwain 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you never tried it how could you know? Look at some comparison videos

    • @barrylinkiewich9688
      @barrylinkiewich9688 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tylermcelwain I own the regular, non-Fuel Hackzall and I am confident that since the fuel version operates in exactly the same way, just slightly more efficiently and a little more powerful it's not going to be a revolutionary difference.
      And how are you going to tell me to watch some comparison videos? I'm commenting on a damn comparison video.
      A hackzall is a hackzall is a hackzall and they make a poor tree trimmer.

    The chain look too big for it size
    I still prefer Stihl MS120c with slimmer chains.
