I picked up a couple of the CR multi page shadow books when they were on sale for $9.99 & really enjoyed depotting all my CR palettes & organizing them into color families like you did here. I don't have the storage or the vanity space for really large palettes to be convenient so I like the format of the CR books & double sided custom palettes I have purchased from Etsy. Of course I don't have near the amount of singles that you do but it works for me & my limited space to have a more curated collection(it has to fit in 2 desk drawers, 1 shallow & 1 deep). I like having the pans organized by color family since it's easier to judge one color against another when they are in close proximity & it's also easier to track what you have multiples of or what shades/textures you may be lacking. A piece of wax paper keeps the shadows from getting all over the inside cover or mirror of the magnetic palette :) Helps keep things cleaner.
I love the CR book of shadows palette. So convenient and I keep all my most treasured singles in it :)

The pink abh pallete (5:27) with the rainbow and colourpop (6:10 ish) palette that you briefly opened with the pastels are really pretty, what is in them? Also YES you absolutely should do more
I love the cleaning/organizing videos. It inspires me to clean and reminds me to utilize my single shadows more often. I also enjoy getting a peek at other peoples single shadow collections and seeing them organized in the rainbow order you did them is so satisfying.
There's something so absolutely satisfying about watching you organize your shadows by color. Like ASMR but for my eyeballs

Lauren if you mirror the warm Looxi palette you can put them next to each other and it will have a continued gradient (not required - but might help with your organising)

Yay, chill single shadow organization! I have 3 of those Coloured Raine palettes and I wish I bought more before they were discontinued. 😭
So satisfying! I could watch this for hours.
I take a clean and sort "fit" every now and then, especially when I add new "inventory." I don't sort by brand and like to work outside on a sunny day when I can get a true color swatch and grade everything by color, and undertone. Mattes are stored and stored together. Shimmers, duo-chrome, and multi chrome are graded by dominant color and stored together. Prefer singles to pallets. Will sucker for them from time to time and end up giving them away. I also do something similar with my lipsticks. Kinda sort my jewelry and clothes in a similar fashion. Call me utterly mad but I find it relaxing.

okay I usually watch a video then comment however I have a confession to make. I was so excited to see this. So what did I do? I nearly fell off my chair ahehem...doing a wiggle happy dance shouting YEAH! I am not happy with all the CT scans to figure out why I look 9 months pregnant. Going for another for my sinuses. This made my day so thank you for doing these type of videos. I create my own customized palettes. You created a depot monster. hahaha! 😆🤪🥰😍😘

How many singles do you have now? I have to say, I love my singles collection, and most of it comes from learning how to depot from you. Putting just a few in a small magnetic palette can really help with the decision fatigue.

Idk how you make your color coordinated shadows so perfect? I have hundreds of singles also, and I DO put them by brand, and try to do it by color.., but it never looks like that! Lol

For me personally I tend to use powder eyeshadow for years. I will only discard it if it has a noticeable smell or off look (like mould/wierd texture), or it's no longer performing the way I expect. I think you're not meant to use eyeshadow longer than a couple years probably though. 😶

Most companies usually specify the shelf life BUT they don't really go bad that quickly. Once there's no change in colour payoff, texture or smell, it's still good. I spray my palettes with 70% isopropyl alcohol maybe 3-4 times a year for good measure. Cleaning your brushes regularly also helps.

Loved this video. Um… can you turn this activity into an app?!?! How awesome would it be to have an app where you can build your own palettes using real shades from multiple brands. Brands could provide permission for app to use color shades and names. Essentially the app provides platform users to creates a wishlist of shades, but saves it in palette form the user creates. User can build as many palettes in their personal collection. This makes it easier to remember which singles to purchase and which ones they already own. App could be sold for hopefully cheap and also provide affiliate link for discount when purchasing from brand sites.
