This came into my feed today, Feb 5, 2022 and Bea passed almost 13 years ago! Makes me cry. I am so thankful that we have these memories in the palm of our hands.
As much as I think the internet & that lead to the social media age which has not been good for people I am grateful to yt to relive moments like this b/c unless u caught it on tv live or a re run or taped something it was gone. I've discovered so many things that I wasnt born for or too young to have watched. Who knew even releasing shows on dvd would become passe. U can watch anything on yt or buy any season of a show & it's at ur fingertips instead of having to drag out the box sets & searching for a season or episode u like which I was still doing only 7 years ago. Everything is on streaming anyway but yt is the best thing about the internet in terms of entertainment
It touched my heart to not only see Bea and Rosie enjoy singing the theme song, but also for the audience to join in and have a great time by having a singalong. That Maude theme song was so wonderful!
@@elizabethpugh117 : Definitely. Great gospel-style tune. (And the more bluesy, soulful, end theme was great, too.) And if we're talking about great funky '70s TV theme songs, let's not forget Sanford & Son! :-D
I'm a 40 year old black man who feels he just lost a loved one. It hits cats like myself hard because I was alive to see all her shows that made her famous to begin with. I was there and seen them come on and sat glued to the Television when Maude came on back in the 70's. and I seen some of her stage shows in vagas as well as being a huge fan of The Golden Girls. You know..... How many of us will be able to say we left a mark on several generations of people.. Remarkable. Timeless. Now rest...
I agree bea arthur is the most talented woman she.s smart she.s funny and she.s sweet and there will be no another bea arthur i also love bea arthur no matter how shes look or how she sounds i will always love her and rest in peace bea arthur we will always love you
I enjoyed this so much that I got chills! I’m 42 and I remember watching reruns when I was 10. The same age Rosie said she was watching it. Anything Bea Arthur was in was worth watching. She’s truly missed ❤️
I absolutely love Bea Arthur one of the best comedy actors of all time. Loved this video. Rosie did a fabulous job singing. Loved the Maude theme song. Miss you Bea but you will never be forgotten. Thanks for being a friend
A true comedic genious in every sense. The Golden Girls is my favorite show of all time. Such a sad day, but her memory will live on forever. Thanks Bea for the many years of laughter and smiles you brought me and will continue to do so on my Golden Girls and Maude DVD'S. RIP.
I was born in 1966 a literally cut my teeth watching shows like Maude, Mary Tyler Moore, Rhoda, and Good Times, with independent working women highlighted. It really shaped who I am. Got a degree and a career before I got married and my daughters are doing the same. Maude and other shows like it are American treasures.
It's great seeing actors being proud of their work. Most days, actors shun their past work and don't want anything to do with it. It seems like in order to have longevity with your career, you need to embrace it all.
B will forever be my favorite . I too have been watching her since All In The Family and her show, Maude and I still watch them today. good clean fun and laughter, something that lacking in a lot of today's sitcoms.
So sad...my sincere condolences go out to her loved ones. She was pure class and brought Joy and Laughter into my life when there was little to laugh about knowing your next Act will be pain free and Light!!!! Peace Denise Canada
Rest in Peace Beatrice Arthur. She was a fantastic actress. I truly enjoyed watching her on Maude, and my favorite, The Golden Girls. She was a true leading lady, and now an television icon. Rest in Peace!
Bea looked like my mother- same hair too! My grandmother, mother and Aunt all looked like Bea in some form! That’s why I love Bea! She reminds me of all of them plus she was funny and lovely!
We were so fortunate to be living when Bea Arthur (Maude/Dorothy), Betty White (Sue Ann Nivens/Rose), Rue McClanahan (Vivian/Blanche), and Estelle Getty (Sophia) all came into our lives via TV! Those were the days guys and gals! Sure, do miss them! 🥹😢😢
I have always loved Bea Arthur. She was a guiding force to all of us who want to change the world in some way! She was also a true comedic genius and I ABSOLUTELY LOVED her on Maude and The Golden Girls. RIP Bea Arthur, you will be missed dearly.
The golden girls proves if u have serious talent u can still work in any venue & tg the people at nbc did think a show about women north of 50 could be great & come on everyone loves the golden girls! I saw a clip of bea & betty white in the 70s way before the GG & both were singing & tap dances like no problem looking like it was so easy. I feel that when their is less channels not as many platforms u water down the talent. These legends like bea & betty I'm sure took singing dancing acting lessons & their humor & delivery was not " old " in the 80s they were hysterical. I was maybe 4 or 5 when it premiered so by 89 I was watching the re runs & the show which thrived on a sat night at 9! Usually that's where they put shows to die off on sat night b/c people are out. Thursday was always where the powerhouse lineups were. I think sun through Thursdays had to be the best for a show. I recall growing pains & mr belvedere when they were limping along at the end went to sat nights & as a little kid we were usually at cousins & went away so did not watch anything on sat. I think most people & they werent looking for the kiddos to be watching but that what 18 to 49 demo
"Joan of Arc with the Lord to guide her, She was a sister who really cooked" I thought that was just a dark joke on family guy, can't believe that it was the actual lyrics from the real song
I love when Bea plays Maude🤣. That series is hysterically funny🤣😂🤣 The funny thing is, my grandmother looked exactly like "Maude" during that time period 😂 Equal hair and clothes 😂😂😂
An Absolutely Beautiful Interview. It's so uplifting it bought Happy Tears to My Eyes. Bea Arthur was Such a Class Act, and not only that, She Served in The United States Marine Corps!!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸💞
I completely agreed with everything Bea Arthur stood for and believed in, including the opinions of the characters she played. She was a fantastic talent and a wonderful person. I have never seen or heard anything otherwise.
I am truly heartbroken I am so glad I saw you a few years ago in Provincetown doing your 1 woman act, you will truly be missed by all. Say hello to Estelle Getty for the rest of us untill we get there to see you again and let the laughter begin...RIP..
"Maude" will go down as one of the most important sitcoms in history. The social topics it covered were way ahead of its time.

I love that. Bea was great as Maude and Dorothy. Rosie singing the theme to her was fun and mad respect.
Loved that theme song. RIP Donny Hathaway and Bea Arthur

Funky, gospel, etc. themes of the 1970s. Does any present TV show have an edgy or interesting theme? I can't think of any. Have we become boring?
