When Scottie Smalls (Thomas Guiry) moves to a new neighborhood, he manages to make friends with a group of kids who play baseball at the sandlot. Together they go on a series of funny and touching adventures. The boys run into trouble when Smalls borrows a ball from his stepdad that gets hit over a fence.

I had friends like this as a kid
Before the internet age, most kids did. When I was young, it was out the door after saturday morning cartoons, and didnt come back home until the sun went down. No cell phones, and no worries. It was just how things were.

I went to a car show in September 2023 and there was a huge dog sitting on a 1940s or late 1930s pickup truck and it look exactly like the dog in this movie

Benny was the nicest friend ever in this movie.
Like with smalls he did not make fun of him like the other kids did because I’m over thinking you guys can help him instead of making fun of them because If nobody’s teach you something how do you supposed to know how to do it So yeah I’ve been he was a good friend he never made fun of smalls like that actually never made fun of him at all he didn’t laugh at him or anything he tried to help him more
Smalls was a good kid just had never played before. Everybody has to learn some time but smalls was brave enough to play in front of all the other kids
I have a 20 month old son and I am determined to raise him to treat people the way Benny does.

I remember watching in the v theater with my dad as a kid. This movie was a great movie. Im so happy I grew up in an era when movies like this were still made.

This series is so American but when I watch it see my childhood in a small average town in the Middle of Poland somewhere between 1994-1998. I had a perfect childhood even though my parents lived their 20ties in the part of the world which could evaporate because of Americin or Soviet nucs. Who cares. When I was 1 year old I received Lugola liquid because of Chernobyl. Today I would be depressed that I have to give my child medicine for radiation just like in Fallout 2. But back then my parents were pretty happy with their lives so as we kids from Zamoyskiego street. Happy parents have happy kids.

The sandlot wasn’t the movies original title, they were first going to call it “the boys of summer”. They were unable to use that title because there was already a booger with a different story about baseball with the same title and the author threaten to sue director if he didn’t change the name.
