Cool video guys. Glad the boat work wasn't to bad. The Blacktips are solid right and the big hammerheads are right on their heels eating them. One shorebound crew landed two between 12 and 14 feet and lost a shark that dumped a 130 this week. also the great whites tagged by Ocearch with SAT and acoustic tags have pinged off florida plenty of times. Most of what you find when you search is of the Ocearch SAT tags. Katherine was tagged in 2013 and is a very coastal shark(check out her track!) who is now estimated to be 15-16 feet long and 3500lbs. Katherine even pinged in 20 feet of water just south of Miami a year or two ago. Lydia, Betsy and George also like florida. A few of the sharks that ping a lot have a large twitter following. Kathrine the Shark is just about to hit 50,000 followers! Its hard to find the acoustic pings on the listening stations just off the beaches all along Florida as you mostly end up getting the SAT pings but I did find some info that the great whites mostly come into the shallows off West Palm / Jupiter during the night and they believe it is to feed on the blacktips like the Hammerheads do. just this summer they found the pupping grounds off of long Island, NY and tagged 10 newborns in the 5 to 6 foot and 100lb range. Its going to be interesting following the little ones.
Speaking of epoxy.... the strongest stuff you will ever find is a marine architectural grade epoxy.... great as a filler, waterproofer, adhesive and binder. You can repair everything from cracked hulls to patching water and fuel tanks, it has a 13,000psi strength rating and when cured, you can sand and shape it like wood, but this stuff is as strong, if not stronger than steel..... the best part is, this stuff NEVER BREAKS! It's called Marine Tex. You can get it at any marine supplier, particularly at West Marine. I am in the RV industry and I use this stuff A LOT!
Yep, that is about as many sharks I remember back in the late 1970's at that beach when I went there as a kid. I guess it hasn't changed! It was the Man O War's that I was more afraid of as there stinging tentacles could be yards away from the blue floating air sack. The tanglewood type trees separating the road from the beach didn't exist when I was a kid at both Jupiter and Juno Beaches. You had an unobstructed view of the ocean from the road while driving along.
Epoxy won't cure around wet wood(topside drilled holes). I would cut that piece out, and get that wet or damp wood out. Taiwanese boats have nice layouts, but are made cheaply.
I know this doesn't matter to much but bondo is a great filling compound and it sands very easily I just redid the back bulkhead on one of my customers boat it looks great now this kind of work I do for a living and also a mechanic let me know if you need any advice just let me know I will be glad do help

As for your day of working on the boat, looks like you've got a pretty large project ahead of you.It looks like you have plenty of tools for the job but I'm not so sure on the best methods to proceed with. Something tells me this is not "your first rodeo" with this so march on dude!

Please use epoxy instead of polyester. Epoxy resin does take much longer and costs more but it adheres much better.

usually those shark bite down there are just stitches. we worry more about the ones up here that take limbs...
