I think Black is the rarest color tp see in these Ram Chargers I always seem to see lighter colors in them etc. This is a very nice SUV and looks Great with these wheels i think they are factory wheels but am not sure. The Dodge Ramcharger is a large sport utility vehicle built by Dodge from 1974 to 1993 (and 1999 to 2001 in Mexico), and based on a shortened-wheelbase version of the Dodge D Series/Ram pickup truck chassis. A Plymouth version, named the Trailduster and offered from 1974 to 1981, was Plymouth's only SUV.
The Ramcharger was primarily produced as a full-time four wheel drive vehicle, although a two wheel drive version was available starting in 1975. During development, it was known as the "Rhino".[1] 1974 through 1980 models have a removable hard top, although dealer-installed soft tops were available. The first year model differs from the others in that its door pillars are attached to a removable roof.
Like many vehicles, the Ramcharger was used in rallying, although its use was very limited. It did have some success, as demonstrated by achieving first place at Sno*Drift in 1975. In 1978 and 1979 the 360 CID's horsepower was bumped up to 195 horsepower (145 kW). 1978 was the last year for the 440 CID, which by then only put out 215 horsepower (160 kW).
The vehicle was usually powered by a Chrysler LA engine, the most common being the 318 cu in (5.2 L) V8. Optional was the 360 cu in (5.9 L) V8 and even big-block B series 400 cu in (6.6 L) V8 and RB 440 cu in (7.2 L) V8 were offered in the early years. Initially a normally aspirated carburetor, in 1988 the 318 gained throttle-body fuel injection with the 360 following in 1989. Power output for the TBI 318 was 230 horsepower (170 kW) and 280 lb (130 kg)-ft of torque. The TBI 360 had 240 hp (180 kW) and 283 to 295 lb·ft (400 N·m). In 1992 the multiport fuel injected Magnum 318 was the standard engine while the LA 360 with TBI was still offered. In 1993 the Magnum 360 replaced the LA engine version.
Many manual transmissions were offered throughout the years, starting with the A-230 three-speed and ending with the A-535 five-speed in 1992. The NP435 "granny gear" 4 speed was the most common in 4WD models, as well as the close ratio version, the NP445. In 1988 the clutch was converted from a mechanical linkage to a hydraulic system. Automatic transmission models had the Chrysler Loadflite TF-727A or B until, in 1991, it was replaced with the A-500/A-518 four-speed.
Axles were Dana 44 front and 9¼" rear. Full time 4WD models (1973--1979) were equipped with the full time version of the Dana 44 that had no provision for locking hubs and had a front wheel bearing design with a somewhat dubious reputation. In 1980 when the part time 4WD system was introduced, the front Dana 44 was equipped with a more conventional front wheel bearing design and automatic locking hubs. Late in the 1984 model year the Dana 44 was switched to a CAD (Center Axle Disconnect) version. The CAD Dana 44 was vacuum actuated by a switch on the transfer case and powered by engine vacuum. The CAD Dana 44 was carried on until the end of Ramcharger production in 1993. Users often ran into problems with the CAD system. The vacuum switch on the transfer case would occasionally fail and either leave the CAD engaged or not engage the CAD at all. Limited slip differentials were available for the 9¼" rear axle. It should also be noted that the full time 4WD versions used a 5 on 4½" wheel bolt circle and the part time models used a 5 on 5½" bolt circle

Its white, and its RWD.
Im going to put a posi-trac on it and make it 4WD and some 33x13 all terain tires on it.
It runs a 318 chrysler v8 with an aftermarket carberauter (4 port jet!!!)
I bought it from some guy for $700
All I have had to do so far is new distributor, spark plugs, starter, and a brake hose.
It is my first vehicle so I'm proud of it.
Had a red 85 Ramcharger back in the day. Loved it. 1st gear was a towing gear (granny) and it would climb anything.

I have an '93 Ramcharger I bought from Emery County Sheriff Dept.(Utah-was unit 50) in May of 2012. An LE version, 360 Magnum, all options, black with grey interior- they had a dash cover & seat covers (with special vinyl section stitched in so the gun butts & hammers wouldn't dig into the seat foam). My combo MPG is 14.2, highway cruising 70 MPH steady gets 17. Still have the Unity "Stratolite" spotlight. Neat rig...been a weird year for vehicles. Got a nice '90 Jag VDP and a '76 Travco 320 (with 26K original miles) for free. The roof vent is stock
my 318 has a half a million miles and still runs good.the only motor better may be a slant 6.

A dodge ram is a pickup, the ramcharger is an suv as u can see, theyre built on a shortbed ram frame, maybe cut dow a few inches? Either way its an oversized station wagon that has a transfer case. Non the less they are bad ass!!! I want one for long trips with the wife and boys cause theyre heavy and ride amazingly and if i dropped a diesel in one with a six speed it would get around 30+ with the right engine trans and gear combo
My friend Aaron has a 1987 Dodge RamCharger LE 150 with gray and silver exterior and red interior. It used to be his grandfather's truck. Beautiful truck just like this one you were showing. This is my favorite generation of the Ram and RamCharger.

Sweet looking rig. One thing I think Dodge should've offered with the Ramcharger, particularly by the time this year came around, would've been a Cummins Turbo Diesel, just like the Ram 2500 and 3500 pickup truck.

As far as I know, the 318 and 360 are the same except for the top end. Don't quote me on that. I have a '99 Ram with a 318 in it, 245,000 miles and counting. You can't hurt a magnum

I believe the pickups are called d150. We had two ramchargers growing up. 1 86 and 1 89 prospector. the prispecor had factiry roll bar the other did not. They were pretty decent 4x4. Both of ours had 318
the picks have both a "d" and "w" variation. the D variation is the rear wheel drive 2WD version, and the W variation is the 4WD version

How are you sir, I collect these trucks and I'm actually restoring 3 at the time. Both my 92 short beds have 5 speed nv4500 factory gearboxes, I think all 92 came like that, specs on my short beds are 230 hp-390 lbs or 380, the rear 9.25 is actually a dana 60. Please check out my 84 royale prospector also a very rare model.
Its a 4x4 manual locking hubs all leafs not for sale but awesome truck i love it never selling it just just looking for ppl with my truck and has the dixie horn on it :)

Wow they used the "Ram Tough" slogan back then! They use that today! Whoever gets this truck will get one with a good engine! The 318 is a great engine, my '94 Jeep Grand Cherokee has it, and it's a powerful and reliable engine!

Cereal Marshmallows Nathan, if I had a few hand full of you trucks, and cars here in Calais, I could sell them for double what your getting for them. The Canadians love going South to Florida, and Texas to but stuff, and they pay triple what your asking, because you can't find these diamonds up here anymore. Rust has taken them away. A ram like this would sell for 8k easy, and Jeeps are going in the 10k range. Any early 2 door mopar late 60's to early 70's are gold. Like I said this stuff your selling is rare back east, and there is money to be made.

I miss the days when glove compartments had locks on them now all the new cars trucks and suv's don't have locks on them, which I think is stupid if you had some documents or a weapon for self defense like a gun ot a tazor.. you would be able to put it in the glove compartment and lock it up which gave you an extra level of security.

no that's when we officially got rid of it because with the money my dad got for helping out his company in new Orleans we got a dodge 3500 pickup megacab
he stopped using it before that though and was using an old f250 for a short time but he hated it
he got a second one but it ended up getting junked after hurricane Katrina

Don't know wbat the hell you're looking at. The aw150 ramcharger is a kin to the ram d150 pickup. Half tom pickup frame l. 318 or 360 v8. 2 or 4 wheel drive.
