Great video! One thing I wondered with this was how you treat the threading in the midsole? It seems like the threading really soaks up that dye and looks a bit darker than the threading on the upper. Is there a methodology behind that? or is it just a small sacrifice that you have to make to get the overall look better.

How the hell did you figure that out?? Like choosing candle wax dye, then like oh you know what let’s through salon care in this shit, and on top of that it worked?! Astounding

Hey buddy, what would happen if I use the dye directly onto the shoe ? without the salon care 40 ? Also are there any other salon care 40 alternatives, as I don’t get salon care 40 in my region.
I soaked my shoes in coffee and the water was absorbed by the shoe and traveled up to the tongue area, FYI ... it did have some browning effect on the sole but not as much as this
Since this video, there have been several companies making mid sole dye markers, in vintage and sail white or white and black. Do you recommend these? I haven't seen any reviews on how they hold up to wear and age such as hardening and cracking. LMK yalls thoughts, thanks.
Hello there. Can i ask you guys some help? Here in italy i can't find that saloncare 40, but maybe i can find a product that is similar and that do the same job, so, what is the exact name of the product? Is a creme for hair? Is some oxygen creme? Sorry guys, i hope i have explained well!
I just tried this. Looked exactly the same going on but after 18 hours has not absorbed like yours and now I’m struggling to get it off and just looks blotchy within the rough pattern of the rubber. It’s wiped off almost completely around the top smooth edge like it was never there but these Royal 1s seem completely fucked now. Any ideas why it wouldn’t absorb?

Hi I’m about to do this custom, but I had a quick question. If I already wore the shoes and they have some dirt, would it mess with the dye process or is it still safe to proceed?
Yo hopefully you see this! I just tried this on some air force's as kind of a test. I had a mix of 1oz. salon care and .2oz ivory dye. I put it on and wrapped em up, let them sit for about 12 hours. When I went to unwrap them, it was basically like none of the dye or anything had soaked in and it was still as brown as when it was first applied! I was able to wipe a bit of excess off with a damp towel, it evened out the color but it is still extremely dark, like a dark gum color and not ivory at all. What did i do wrong?!
It seems the newer dye from there is a lot more potent. Try taking some acetone to it and it should knock it down. You might want to do a few sessions then assess.
@@VintageKicksGallery Thanks! Acetone has gotten rid of any remaining topical dye and they are no longer dark brown and splotchy. A really even almost light gum color. I was going to try another shoe with like 1oz developer and .05oz dye and a shorter soak.
So I had the same problem I found that like maybe a few ounces of salmon care and 1 drop of the dye works pretty well I just paint it on then rub it off then of it's too yellow use some acetone maybe 2 or 3 coats before I get the look I want
