Paper makes all the difference with watercolor. It’s day and night. Beautiful work ❤️

This came out so beautiful and I like how you talked about your thought process throughout the entire thing. It's so good to have you back 😊

Thank you so much! I really appreciate the support. I feel very rusty at this whole video making business xD

I love this! So glad you were happy with the end result 😊 feels so comforting to watch you create and talk about the process 🥰

Aww, thank you! I have to say that lately I'm much happier with the results. I'm still able to point out things that I could have done better but that doesn't cast a shadow over my mood anymore xD

I love these layered illustrations! Makes me want to play with vellum 💜

    •  3 ปีที่แล้ว

Vellum is such a versatile material!! It needs extra care because it's easily affected by heat and moisture but it's so ethereal. I love it >

I love the transparency effect, so elegant and delicate. I wish there was some color in the background o make the whole more coherent, but still the details are mesmerizing. Good choice with that last gold touch.

That is a very good tip. I had to stop fiddling with it because I was getting impatient but some nice bg would be good for next time!

This is gorgeous. In the card making world it’s called decoupage cutting out pieces and layering then at different heights creating a 3D image. But you have taken it much further .I would suggest a small sharp set of scissors to do this if you do it on a regular basis it makes the cutting out easier than with the big scissors.I absolutely love this .I am just getting back into watercolours .Trust me you will get better with practice ,as with everything .🥰

    •  3 ปีที่แล้ว

Oooh, interesting! the more you know! I assume I got this idea back in the day when I frequented scrapbooking fairs with a friend of mine xD I do have a couple pairs of tiny scissors and I used to love using them but for some reason they feel too tiny now and I gravitate towards big scissors. Things change quickly here, though so who knows what I will use in the next collage painting xD And good luck with you watercolor practices!

A bit sad to hear you don't enjoy watercolor anymore (I think that is how I found your channel), but as I said before, your style is unique and it goes way beyond the medium you are using, so I will continue to enjoy your videos. Glad to see you back :D

    •  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Aww, thank you! I think I associate bad moods with watercolor, so I'm hoping that with enough practice that will go away. Truth be told I've never enjoyed watercolors. I like the result, but the painting process itself was very stressful. But these days I realise where my problem was so I can start fixing it :)

@ The most important thing is for you to enjoy what you are doing. There are many mediums that have results similar to watercolor so I guess you can experiment and see if you like any better (I mean inks, watercolor pencils, markers, etc).

Awesome video, I really like the gold details and it's perfect not too much ❤️

    •  3 ปีที่แล้ว

I'm glad! The gold details can either make or break an artwork, in my opinion. It's so easy to overdo it when it's fun to make xD

I think this type of illustration is a collage ? even if you draw on the paper.

    • @mangeusedelivres

also the plumes are a perfect addition I think :) it makes it look humid

    •  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Thank you for not saying moist xD and thank you for the suggestion. OF COURSE, it's a collage! I just never connected the two. Collage illustration is what I will call it from now on :)

Its simply called 3D paper art. No fancy name, which is a pity considering what beautiful artwork you do.

    •  3 ปีที่แล้ว

I did some research about collage art but nothing fits entirely. A 3D collage is the closest I think. I've settled for collage art in general and hoping it fits somewhere in that category. At least it rolls of your tongue easier xD

    •  3 ปีที่แล้ว

Love it!! Reminds me of Avengers a lot xD
