Thank you. I am looking for ways to frost my window for privacy and I do not want to use that spray paint. I will try your technique and I believe it will work.
I find it very easy to take labels off just by soaking them in a little bit of hot water stand up up straight put in a little hot water and those labels fill right off without any kind of anything else just water
WHEN I SAW YOUR VIDEO ON THE ROSES ON WINE SET IT ACTUALLY BLEW MY SOCKS OFF!! ABSOLUTELY THE PRETTIEST ROSES IVE EVER SEEN PAINTED... WHETHER ON GLASS OR WOOD. ETC. THEY WERE BEAUTIFUL... DELL, WHY TYPE IN ALL CAPS? Hasn't anyone shared with you its the equivalent of yelling? I'm pretty certain you don't mean to be yelling at Pamela, right?
Can you put a regular enamel color that is not frosted on first then let it dry for 24 hrs then put the frost medium on it and bake it? Or do I mix the frost medium with the color I want frosted before applying it to the surface?
It sounds very doable, and should work as you can layer the enamels. Many use layers of paint to get opacity so I don't see why layering the frost on would be any different.
I know, I am so disappointed that they discontinued these. They do have just the Frost Effect medium only which maybe you could add a touch of color to with the paint but I haven't tried that yet. I get a bit peeved I try a product then they discontinue it not long after. I guess they follow trends.
Maybe put a touch of white in the clear medium and it will give it a transparent look. I have yet to test it though. I hadn't thought to make it, thanks for the suggestion.
Glass paint has a sealer in it, I have not had any issues with the paint scraping off at all so far. It would scrape off if you took a razor to it but other than that I don't think there is an issue. I always recommend hand washing and not the dishwasher even though glass paints claim to be dishwasher safe.
Since you can paint over it I am sure you can decoupage too. Their is a texture to it that may come through though. But to be honest I have not tried it.
@@PamelaGroppe Is it true that after you spray the frosted glass spray, you cannot draw anything on top after the spray is dry? The spray is quite expensive in my country so I decide not to buy it even though I really want to try.
I don't get it smooth, it is slightly bumpy with the sponge but going over it a second time helps to make it look smoother. The bumpiness doesn't bother me and really doesn't inhibit the beauty of whatever I paint on the frosted glass.
Beautiful! I’m sorry didn’t get the name of the frosted color brand name for There’s a fire in the yellow color? And where would I find that sponge? Or can I use a sponge brush I have a few of those and I got them at the dollar store? Thank you so much
Thank you so much for this video. I typically hate throwing away things that can be reused if cleaned so I recently started collecting all glass jars from pasta sauces and chip dips.. so i have alot 😅 I went on a hunt for painting techniques that i can use to make them stand out as i would like to use them for storing jewelry or candles (most likely battery operated but also real tea lights if it is safe) and your video of all the videos iv watched (iv watched like 10 so far in this hour alone) is the one that best helps me feel like i can do this and this will be fun... i cant wait to start! Also if possible, do you know if it would be safe to put little candles in the jar after painted? Id also love to try doing wine glasses 😍 i dont have any but you def inspired me. LASTLY THE YELLOW GLASS WITH FLOWERS is GORGEOUS. Going to shop for paint now. !! And sponges!!! ❤️❤️
@@PamelaGroppe That was going to be my question. I just emptied 2 peanut butter jars and figured I'd try it (when I have the supplies) instead of recycling.
@@rosemarywilliams5136 I think both Plaid and DecoArt have discontinued this paint. Which is sad. They have a regular frost paint they keep in stock but not the colors. Though you could probably mix the enamels with the frost to make colors.
@@PamelaGroppe I have followed you for years since The first set you painted. I even asked you where I could get some glasses that you painted so I could try to paint them but I remember it involved your hubby or business? and you had no more. Glad it was helpful!

Love this.
REALLY want a method for the inside of glass bottles.
so sorry, but I hope you find something to suit you. I am sure somebody has posted how to do the inside.😀

Do you know when this frosted glass enamel paints will ever be available again??? I love this paint and it hasn’t been available in 2 years 😩 TY

Can you make frosting paint
Maybe put a touch of white in the clear medium and it will give it a transparent look. I have yet to test it though. I hadn't thought to make it, thanks for the suggestion.
Does it scrap off easily once dried? If so, do you recommend some sort of matte sealant?

Oh, can you decoupage over top of the paint.
Since you can paint over it I am sure you can decoupage too. Their is a texture to it that may come through though. But to be honest I have not tried it.
If I want to use a crystal clear acrylic coating overtop of my painting will it ruin the frosted look?
I have not tried that so I am not sure. These are enamels and don't need a top coat.
PAMELA.. IS THE CLEAR FROST MEDIUM THE SAME AS THE COLORS OR IS THAT A DIFFERENT PAINT??
I think it might be the same or maybe you mix the frost medium with the enamels to get a frost look. Hmm, good question.
can you put burning candles in them when finished ?
I don't see why not as this paint is bake able. As far as the glass holding up to heat, I am not sure.
Can I hand draw some flowers with acrylic paint on top after the frosted glass is dry?
Yes, this is how to frost glass before you add your other designs.

So pretty..You make it look so easy. How do you get it so smooth, if i use a sponge its bumpy.if i use a brush there is streaks. Thanks💖

These are Folk Art Frosted Glass, Ceramcoat and Martha Stewart Brands. You can find them on the Plaid Online website.

I need to get busy and do more glass painting videos. I am not that great at it but I can share what I know so far.
Is there anyway to do this on plastic? Not something that would need to be washed just something I need to have a frosted appearance
Yes you could.
@@PamelaGroppe That was going to be my question. I just emptied 2 peanut butter jars and figured I'd try it (when I have the supplies) instead of recycling.
Would it be ok to use frosted spray paint
The frosted spray paint washes off to easily. This paint bakes on to a water proof finish.
Where could you buy all the different colors of this paint?I looked can't find it

I found the plaid frosted pink one you have
At what temperature to you bake them, and for how long?
Can this be done on Mason Jars?
Yes it can be done on any glass surface.
I buy in bulk, this technique us going to be great. No more ugly clear quart canning jars, yeahhhhhhh.
Frosting the glass does add something that makes it more elegant.
dollar tree also carries the makeup sponges
Good to know. I need to try our local Dollar General it is closer to me than Dollar Tree.
Thank you!
You are welcome!

Can you drink out of these?
Though the paints are non-toxic it is always recommended to paint below the rim by 1/4 inch or more if it is drinkware as an extra precaution.
Where can I purchase this paint?
Try Plaid Online or your local hobby stores that may carry it.
