@@theedgar1959 Hello Illinois! Yep, I still love the 540. It's a reliable machine, deep, and stable. Preset modes are all you need and they are all subtly different. I can usually call the coin with the VDI. I run the sensitivity about 70%ish to cut down on chatter in trashy areas. The 12 inch coil is highly sensitive to tiny targets so I rarely use the 8 inch but I'm glad I have it if I need it. Yep, i'd buy one again for sure. Minelab customer service is top notch by the way. Hello. What exploration mode and settings do you suggest for more depth? What is the maximum depth of the Vanquish for a large metal such as a 30/30 or 40/40 copper plate?
Steel or iron based alloys like nails reads 19/20. Copper 22. A coke can 26-27. A 2cm diameter penny I hit at over 30 cm in beach sand with jewelry mode. Can also pick up a similar old cupro nickel coin at the same depth. One can also hit a silver threepence at almost 20 cm. Even if it's under a rock and sand. Big coins can be detected deeper.
Have. One of these you can detect the real small targets been at it for a long time it’s nice to bring one out instead the 600 or etrac

maximum depth ??
30-40cm is about as deep as you can expect with the Vanquish
the 340 was a lot of fun. turn on and go. found the 540 on ebay for $64 and change. the 340 was $60 on craigslist. lot of fun. have a good day
