Pretty sure the theme at 4:43 is one of the unused tracks, and the one at 6:44 is the Communist theme. I remember the Communist theme having a chorus and anvils.
@@maccaebus That's correct; the hidden tracks were arranged in no particular order (just scattered throughout to help fill the dead space added to make this work with hotkeys). The theme at 4:43 *was* going to be the original communist theme, however!
@@maccaebus Corrected and thank you, I booted up the game again to try and check but was having trouble proccing the communist theme so I took a guess on it. Edit: "Flashpoint Infinity" by the way is how I'm still playing Colony (or more accurately: Sonny 2, LEGO World Builder, Super Mario Bros Crossover and Heli Attack 3) in 2021 if you were wondering.
@@Ultrox007 Thanks for updating that! I didn't want to spoil the timestamps of those tracks in the description, but had hoped someone would paste them down in the comments. Mission accomplished!
Been looking for a place to finally hear the different faction themes alongside the rest of the track. This is such a cool way of having all the variable themes in one place, thank you!
This game did not deserve this man's level of musical talent. This gives me so many flashbacks to the all the 1v1 matches I played of this! Guitar solo on Slow Loop 1 is just excellent...
Yep; most of the games I've done for Armor Games and/or with Krin have at least something that went unused. I had completely forgotten about those unused faction themes until I revisited this to put together the video!
honestly colony was probably one of my most favorite flash games. and honestly this is very fitting soundtrack and to my surpise you're the creator of soda dungeon 2 soundtrack. because i didn't know that the same ost artist behind colony flash game worked on ost for soda dungeon 2. honestly fan of your work.
I always loved dynamic OSTs, and it's nice to see an upload of one that is user-operable. (Shame we won't get the same from Universe at War or Killer Instinct)
I hadn't thought to arrange it in a way that allowed interactivity in this way until I saw a playable piano on TH-cam. I've got a few other soundtracks that might work nicely in this fashion!
Following the flash memory hole brought me back here and boy, am I glad to see you're still going. This soundtrack rocks! Any chance we could get a medley of the combat parts? I'd love to drop that on a playlist. -Or three.
@@DavidOrrMusic I rate it! Any chance you could do the same to the ambience tracks? It's got a really nice, moody, industrial feel that I'd love to use for some DnD ambience.
Such good memories with this. The way the ingame resource growth was tied to the various ideologies/factions, and how the music complimented that just makes it all the better. Capitalism - Money Communism - Manpower Fascist - Energy Monarchist - Special Points (that purple currency, or whatever) Pretty sure I heard some of the unused bits in the Monarchist version of the music also. I very vividly remember there being a fourth faction in this game. I however usually played Fascist for the Roman and Scout spam.
Yep -- Sonny 2 had a very early draft of a track that didn't make it into the final game. As I recall we felt it was a bit too JRPG battle sounding; we were going for something a bit more cinematic. The 2017 Sonny also had a partial written battle track that got scrapped; looking back at it I kind of wish we had included it. Not sure if I'd upload them here on their own, but perhaps include them in some sort of "making of" video if there were interest in that!
@David Orr It would be really nice to have the files for each of the loops, I would use it for my battle tech roll20 group, would be fun being able to mix and match them on your own pc.
I wish you could still play Colony multiplayer. :( Used to be my favorite game to play on Browser. I’d pay for Vultr servers for this game if I could. Edit: Does anyone know how I could contact the dev..?
Not sure there is an answer right now; there are some initiatives to port flash games to Ruffle.rs for modern playing, but I'm not sure if multiplayer would be included in that.

Hidden Tracks at...
1:42 Capitalist Theme
3:45 Fascist Theme
4:43 Bonus Unused Theme 1
6:44 Communist Theme
9:44 Bonus Unused Theme 2
Dang you're quick haha

I never realized the OST was so short ! The dynamic looping was so good !

Thanks!
Colony is still alive to this day! This soundtrack will never David Orr and nor will Colony! ;)
It is? Even with ArmorGames on the decline?
@@nathanw8936 the community has brought it back
@@TheTiberianWolf How do they play it now?
@@nathanw8936The community host the server now and u can get an app that runs the game fine.
Thank you so much for this, i have been a listening this OST for years while working, great work.

There's an idea; Maybe I'll upload one of those 1 hour videos with the battle segments randomly combined!
@@DavidOrrMusic I rate it! Any chance you could do the same to the ambience tracks? It's got a really nice, moody, industrial feel that I'd love to use for some DnD ambience.
man i wish the fascist motif was its own song; its so deliciously villainous and reminds me of a modern version of the Akatsuki theme
Objectively Colony is the best game and its soundtrack
I'll give it
a fucking army of Prides out of armada of Black Queens
just went back and played some of this gem, now i got this to bop to as well
Thanks for uploading it
Thanks for listening!
Omg!! This is the OG!! Much love from those whose childhoods were from armor games

Damn... Childhood memory's... Ty.
HOLY THROWBACK I COMPLETELY FORGOT THIS GAME
Wow that's actually kinda cool, didn't know youtube could do that.
Hm... interesting idea. Now I can imaging to be DJ by myself :D
Do you have a higher quality / sample rate version of these?
Now I can die... I guess?
But it would be great if the music don't stop, and that we would be able to listen to it all the time!
I've got a 1 hour version of both the ambient and the battle music in the cards; maybe that'll do?
@@DavidOrrMusic Maybe a complete version?
Awesome!
Thanks!
Were there unused bits to the Sonny soundtrack? Would you ever upload them?

@@DavidOrrMusic people will definitely want to hear unreleased sonny tracks, one of the best games for me cos. of music.
I love the communist theme. I wish it was longer
Thanks! Sadly these themes were only short melodies, but maybe we'll get a chance to revisit this soundtrack someday!
