This isn't just a boss theme. It's also the theme of Sonny tearing ZPCI apart after watching them shoot Luis, his then first and only friend. At this time, he was alone against the world, and the odds were stacked against him. It is one of, if not THE soundtrack that defines Sonny games as a whole, hands down and any day of the week.
That's a spot on observation -- I remember trying to convey the emotional tension of that first boss battle within the music. Given the constraints of flash, we reused this boss battle track throughout the game (and series), but I think it held up really well in retrospect.
Interesting thought -- I hadn't really considered that idea, but I had a lot of fun streaming the Sonny 2017 soundtrack creation. You've given me something to consider exploring!

With flash games gone, There are none I'll fondly remember more than Sonny. The soundtrack was one of the HUGE reasons why, with this track being my favourite. It's so slow, menacing and perfect. Thanks for helping make my childhood, David.

Man, I have to say, this song is awesome, when I remember Louis being killed cowardly by the enemies it gets emotional like we as Sonnys We take care of them! For All the Louis in the World! I still have Sonny .SWF FILES (1 and 2) on pc lol
I just want to say that I've come back to these songs from Sonny many times since the game came out and they periodically pop into my head. They're truly beautiful and have left a huge impact on me ever since I first heard them as a kid playing Sonny 1 and 2.
Battling the paladin with this music playing was just so perfect. Hard boss yet the music is what kept me going even after dying and having to restart several times. Only wish this song played when you were battling the baron too. (As well as the bonus fights in the 4th zone.)

Even with the mobile reboot I'd rather see a bundled release of the classic Sonny flash games ported to mobile/console/steam due to the flash situation. The gaming community today deserves to still experience the classic and iconic Sonnny games.

I'm an aspiring composer and while I was playing some random tunes I accidentally played a thing that strongly reminded me of this track. I played Sonny games a lot in my childhood and now as more competent in music I hear so much good stuff in this music. Take the melodies for example, they are SO good and memorable. I realised that a lot of music tricks (like cadences, sus chords and stuff) in my head come from this beautiful music! I'm not enough experienced in music to use it consciously but the very idea comes to my mind. Thank you for planting the seed of epic music in my head! Sonny game and this soundtrack together form such a masterpiece!

I'm an old fan of the sonny game series. It was and still is THE BEST game I had ever had the honor and privilege to play. And this soundtrack, this right here is the reason why I love repeating battles with the bosses even though i was supposed to go to the next map, i love it so much! Its a shame sonny 2017 isn't free but at least i get to enjoy all 3 final encounter themes!

Personally i find the 1st version of this as the best one. It doesn't have various types of instruments playing and it sounds simplistic compared to the other 2 games. No one having to hear this theme, ever would've doubt what it is meant for ant the symbol of it: against the evil ZPCI, that partly started Sonny as a character we know. RESPECT

I find it interesting how different people prefer different versions of the track. My favorite is the 2017 version, but there are unique qualities to each that people gravitate towards!

This then encourages the players to pre-order games that are not even fully finished and even if they are those usually lack content and depth in gameplay...

I believe I played Sonny 3 like 2/3 years ago, it was also really good. If I recall correctly, you needed to download it to play it.

The drums here are more intense than Sonny 2's but Sonny 2 has a sick guitar riff, they both have their respectable aspects!
If this is possible - can we get an full OST of both Sonny 1 and 2 overtime? They are quite short tunes but still are quite a hidden gems of OST’s ;)
