You definitely don't need the wig. Also the unveiling of the dress before the changes, was so genuine. I love it, the dress is and was pretty before and after.
Tip for if you need to sew a multi-colour fabric in future: use a grey that's in the same greyscale value of the overall fabric. It will blend in better compared to trying to match just one colour. The blue watery fabric looks fantastic though!
I love watching makers re-purpose or re-imagine old makes! It's so nice to see costumes being USED and not just stashed away forever after a video. Bien joué!
Dress is gorgeous, the hair dyeing was an epic battle but the kitty under the skirt was my favorite 😍 I totally agree with prioritizing comfortable shoes! ❤️
for hair dye - a non-permanent color will never work on already colored hair! they're meant for blonde and white base hair only, no matter what the packaging claims. the best bet you have would be to have the permanent color sit a while longer on your dark roots so it can have proper lift, or bleaching your hair slightly so the lightness is similar all over, before dyeing
Direct dyes (like Crazy Color or Manic Panic) will have no oxidizers, and work by the pigments sticking into the pores of the hair - the more bleached, dry and burnt the hair the better, the hair being blonde or white just shows the colour better! And they generally will wash out no matter what, but should stick around for like four washes at least. But you can use them to freshen up permanent hair dyed hair, it will just slightly stick to only the dyed parts and only for a bit.
I love how the shoes looked like fish with the googly eyes on them XD My favorite red hair dye is L'oreal Techniques Hi-Color Highlights for Dark hair. It's marketed for dark hair, because it will lighten and deposit color at the same time. No need to pre-lighten. The color is permanent too, and your hair doesn't feel like gritty straw afterwards. It actually makes your hair super soft. If you can get a hold of some, highly recommend! (also make sure you get the "HiLights" version. Mix the Magenta and Red colors for a slightly more berry toned super bright red)
I love seeing costumes and garments repurposed and allowed to live a full life! Whether it's enhancements of a costume to rewear it, or taking pieces and combining them into a new outfit, it's so inspiring to me. You look lovely!!
Your "Warrior Ariel" concept reminds me of "Luxon armor" from an MMORPG that came out in 2005 called "Guild Wars" (Guild Wars 1; Guild Wars 2 released in 2012). The Luxons were a seafaring people originally. Their armor is very ocean inspired in some ways, and incorporates a lot of hard elements like jade, coral, and shell.
I had the opposite experience in Paris during the Olympics. All the locals left and the hotels were so expensive that only a few tourists came, leaving the city weirdly empty and so easy to get around! I loved it 🤩😆 I hope they keep the metro running at night after the Olympics 🤞 Lovely costume, as always! The burned details are such a cool detail!
Such a georgous dress! And I really like to see an old project coming to live. You made the video in a way that it doesn't matter that you do not have video footage of the entire process. Well done!🎉❤
That is such a beautiful gown! You look lovely. The shoes were a brilliant touch! Looks like a lot of fun in the con even if Paris was filling up and becoming overwhelming!
Ariel has been my fav since i was a kid! I had such a huge smile on my face this whole video, i love the entire look so much, you did an incredible job!
The part at 6:15 really made me think I'd love to see you in the phenomenal Christine from Phantom of the opera white dress, or alternatively make a historically accurate Sisi (you know, the Austrian empress.) 🥰🥰
Hi Ariel! I saw a really cool technique for dyeing your shoes where you spray paint layers in different colors in a container of water and then dunk the shoes in. It creates a nice tie-dye effect and you can add touch ups too
If folks want to dye shoes in the future, cannot recommend the Angelus paints (and dyes!) enough, they work on more than just leather and they STAY, great stuff to work with.
Thank you for finally sharing this Arielle dress with us. You mentioned it a lot and I was so curious. About sharing old projects: I do not mind old insta-photos at all because you use them to describe your process as you wold have done with actual video footage. Please feel encouraged to share other old projects if you like - I'd be very interested. I never knew how much holes could improve an outfit but they are perfect to give this "under the sea"vibe. It's always amazing to see your bravery: you have a vision in your mind and are bold enough to "destroy" your costumes to make them even better. I am so very impressed by your work! Thank you for being so inspiring.
Woaaah je suis ravie de tomber sur une française ! Ça fait plaisir ! Ta robe est à tomber parterre ! Bravo ! Quelle créativité ! Je suis tellement fan des écailles !! Ça en jette !
... to press the front of the skirt in/ balance the weight of the success of the skirt; a costuming trick is to add weights hidden in seams. Metal washers or beaded pull chain (plumbing aisle in hardware stores) or even faux pearl bead strings if you don't want to cover it on fabric and want a secret glam detail. Since the front short fabric is so delicate, this would be added to a woven panel behind it... or even use snaps or ribbon to place the weight directly on the hoop itself; as long as the sides of the hoop and skirt attatch so things do not shift during the day. ✨️ That being said; the coatume is already heavy, and it is beautiful as is; so this technique could be saved for a future project. (The beaded pull chain is how they create the luxurious *swish* in the hems of huge capes) ✨️
For the hair die, you can try Arctic Fox. The color fades beautifuly after a few shampoos (6/7) but it is very vibrant at first. I have already tried the Poison one and I was a little surprised by the intensity of the red even though I was not bleached lol Edit: Oui j'aurais pu le faire en Français aussi mais vidéo en Anglais cerveau en Anglais mdr
I so enjoy how these costumes evolve. I always think, on no it is too pretty to: cut, shred, distress, resew, but it always works. Beautiful result. One question, who had the date first the Olympics or the Convention? From what I have heard, locals usually find somewhere else to be if the Olympics in their home town.
Hazariel (Ariel) I just love your content so so sososososo much 🥰🥰🥰 this dress is stunning! You demonstrate so much creative freedom and also technical skills to make your ideas come to life. Your videos are SO inspiring and help me to calm down. 🥰🥰 thank you for sharing your talent and playfulness!!!
I❤ the bum pad closet!😂 Ah so that's where you got the scales project from. 😊 Excited to hear the update on that. Glad you had fun at the competition. Was it difficult to choose? Your not your cat was funny , he's so good to play along. 😅🩷
I love this whole look!! I think the skirt looked amazing when you tried it on sans petticoats as well. Please please please make that Warrior Ariel armor!!! ❤❤❤
19:58 yaaay I was one of those viewers !! Merci pour la photo, c'était un honneur d'avoir pu te rencontrer, ta robe d'Ariel était encore plus impressionnante en vrai :)
If you're looking for a permanent colour for hair that's a bit brighter than what's underneath, I can strongly recommend Garnier Nutrisse Ultra Color shade 6.60 (in English the shade is called "fiery red"). I find the colour comes up lighter than what I would except on my medium brown hair
I know you have recived comments about the hair dye but as a life long crazy colour user and "fire" in particulsr also hairdresser), fire works best on a copper colour . People say to bleach it but you never go lighter than needed and red sticks better to copper/rusty colour. When you say it washed straight out. It didnt. You will always get it coming out in the shower but it sill sticks to your hair :) i also dont go to the hairdresser and didnt even before i trained as one xD
So So cool!!! Damn, I need to go to the Japan Expo again, I haven't been in about 8 years but really didn't want to go this year with the Olympic Chaos x) I love that you did this video reusing and reworking a costume, rather than doing in from scratch :D
Thank you for the idea of dying your shoes! I'm already planning on dying some of my own! Also, maybe they would dye more even if you would weight them down by putting the weight inside of the shoe. ❤
Merci pour les cigales!!!! C'est ce qui me manque le plus l'été! La robe est magnifique et les baskets ont bien tourné :) Pour la teinture rouge, essaie La Riché Directions ou Manic Panic, ca prend mieux que CC
Wow wow wow! What a fantastic Ariel gown. I love all the changes you made to it. And now I know how to fix my petticoat that is way too heavy too! ❤ Also the cat that is not your cat is too adorable. The convention is huge? I had no idea there was such a big one in France! It looked like so much fun!

Really cool. And pleeease, put that warrior Ariel into reality. I looove cosplay armour.
Wariel, if you will.
@DruidBarbariansCampfire My name is Ariel (Ar-ee-el), and that is one step away from Wario. Cursed.
4 different colored threads in the serger to match the shimmer and color shit was genius! seriously
Yes! My mouth dropped open. 😮

As always the "not my cat" is so cute and having a great time, haha
I love watching makers re-purpose or re-imagine old makes! It's so nice to see costumes being USED and not just stashed away forever after a video. Bien joué!
As an Ariel fan since childhood, I NEED TO SEE THAT WARRIOR ARIEL BEFORE I DIE! But I loved the pretty, poofy dress you made, too! So on point!
Dress is gorgeous, the hair dyeing was an epic battle but the kitty under the skirt was my favorite 😍 I totally agree with prioritizing comfortable shoes! ❤️
Yes, the kitty is so cute 🥰
Congratulations on the shoutout from Micarah Tewers! She rec'ed your The Nanny piano skirt video :)
⚠Flashing lights warning for 20:41 to 20:47 ⚠ The gown is absolutely gorgeous, I always love seeing the amazing things you make! ^^
Thank you for saying.

Love the final result, when you ripped the purple edge and then added the lighter purple really brought the whole look together.
I would wear the bodice with jeans like… everyday
With the ruffles pinned onto your black outfit and then 80s perm wig....you sooo need to do 80s party ariel. 😅
I love seeing costumes and garments repurposed and allowed to live a full life! Whether it's enhancements of a costume to rewear it, or taking pieces and combining them into a new outfit, it's so inspiring to me. You look lovely!!

"YOU DIED... your hair" 😂😂❤
The jump scare got me😂❤
It's like you took the Ariel dress of my dreams and made it a reality~! So beautiful~! So amazing~! You're so talented, hard-working and creative~!
The fish bag is iconic!
Yes! You go get those thingamabobs, and you live that dream!
I love that you're revisiting older projects and giving them new life!
As much as I enjoy the dress, those sneakers are extremely COOL!!
No one:

Wariel? (Warrior Ariel) YES PLEASE!
I've wanted to see this dress since the first time I saw it in the background many years ago
That is such a beautiful gown! You look lovely. The shoes were a brilliant touch!

you died your hair lol lol that part was so funny
Great job! I was thinking the wig incarnation at 17:58 would work for a Merida cosplay
The part at 6:15 really made me think I'd love to see you in the phenomenal Christine from Phantom of the opera white dress, or alternatively make a historically accurate Sisi (you know, the Austrian empress.) 🥰🥰
This dress is beautiful, truly, but PLEASE give us warrior!princess Ariel! I beg

Organza on top of sequins. Great idea.
Cat jumpscare 10/10.😅
Love the antics with sewing buddy (the cat so adorable!) and I agree with you on going to conventions for the costumes. So many ideas!
I love your updated Ariel ballgown! It was good to start with but better when you finished!
That cat is so darned cute!
The dress is fabulous! Looks like you had a blast at the contest. Thanks for sharing the adventure with us!
I love Not My Cat so much! ❤
Same! I've become really attached to that cat.😂😂
Makers make the best judges!

Loved it! I would have painted the fish and added pearls to it… but I think yours is more realistic!
I think we're all on our knees begging for a revival of the warrior ariel-ception
For the hair die, you can try Arctic Fox.

I am also team warrior Ariel, I would love to see that! Even more room for chaotic destruction
I was like, I've seen that before! You've made that in the past! And then yeah, you're just upgrading your past

Side note, since your old is white a sparkling you could maybe do a white queen costume from Alice in wonderland? As a quick Halloween project.
"Maybe one more? Let's get them all." had me cracking up!
Oh I love the dress. So many sparkles🤩
The dress is fantastic before and after! (Also lol at Ariel-my-bff-is-a-fish essentially carrying around fish corpses; they know what they did)
@abcabc5630, hehehe, that had occurred to me as well.
when the hair stayed red, I thought this might happen eventually ;)
I love all the changes, definitely for the better! 💜🥐
Hazariel (Ariel) I just love your content so so sososososo much 🥰🥰🥰 this dress is stunning! You demonstrate so much creative freedom and also technical skills to make your ideas come to life. Love LOVE the sneakers. It's so unrealistic to run around in heels all day. The background music in this video is really cool, too!
I just painted some old sneakers with acrylic (spray) paint. Real fun to make.
Such a fantastic and beautiful dress, and such a complicated project! -) also loooove your reaction to Paris xDDD
So joyful and happy!! Love this channel. ❤
Gorgeous dress.
I would love to see knight Ariel!
That dress is absolutely gorgeous!!!!
Directions hairdye is the best! :)

All of it is amazing, the technical skills and the detail, it all makes my mouth water xx
This is truly a perfect costume ❤
Quel boulot incroyable ! Et tes vidéos me font toujours marrer. 😂
Not-your-cat is sooo cuuute
OMG Paris commented on one of your photos! Amazing ♡_♡ !!!! Loves her and u!
I need to watch this unfortunately it needs to wait for a little bit but the intro already rocks!
you're a princess every day!!!!
oef i love that pencil outfit as well!

The one that won is from Night at the museum love that movie
Those fish bags are hunting me 😂
My coworker has same one
Si tu veux de la teinture à cheveux à toute épreuve, le goldwell elumen c'est le best. La seule chose c'est que c'est permanent; pas semi permanent.
So pretty! The scales also make me think of the Venus and Junon dresses from Christian Dior ✨✨👗✨✨
That was exactly the inspo ❤️
@@HazarielAtelierperfect! 😘👌
You could open the sides of both fish and connect them in the position that they hang for a bigger purse
Squeeeeeeeeal, I love this dress!😍
