Jerry West and Shaq are still not ready, still grieving, in deep pain, disbelief. Shows the depth of their relationships with Kobe Their hearts are broken

What? It's been not even two days of course they are grieving and will be for quite a while and it will never leave them. I am more concerned about the parents.....of Kobe, his wife and the other parents that lost a child. Losing a child is the hardest thing to ever go through and it never leaves you and you never get over it.

relivec - They haven't even been able to fully process any of this yet and they will never be the same again. As Eagleye17 18 says - Losing a child is the worst kind of pain. My friend's mom died by suicide a few years after losing her son. I never fully understood the depth of her pain and heartache until just before she passed but she kept a lot of her suffering in silence and isolation. I pray for Vanessa, Kobe's parents and the rest of the family and friends. 24 forever.....

Kobe has stated many times that Jerry West was his mentor. Yes he patterned his game off of MJ but it was Jerry West who mentored him as an NBA Player.

      Even Shaq looks bad..
      Such a tragedy..
      But now it strucks me..
If these 3 gentleman feel like this, how in the world his wife and kids feel?
      His parents??
      Omg..
Why did they fly in such terrible weather that day?

One thing that bothers me is..
Kobe got it done.. He did everything he wanted in his career, he came close to MJ, he did literally everything..

Rico Lucas: Actually he looks much worse in this interview. The media needs to back off ,and give him the space and time he needs to get over Kobe's passing. Mr Ballmer should give him the rest of the year off ,until he can come to accept what has happened. A few more interviews like this could be the end for Mr. West.

I will never forget the 2008 NBA finals where my Celtics were champs. These finals where amazing, I have been watching it again lately and trying to cope with the pain. I always looked up for Bryant and for me he was always the face of Lakers, even though Shaq made history there, as well as Chamberlain, Kareem and many others, Bryant was the modern face of Lakers. He was the one who made me care for the Lakers. I remember as well their title in 2009 finals against the Magic. I will be watching these games again as well, just to remember, I was rooting for the Lakers in that finals.
Even my Celtics being rivals with the Lakers, I always appreciate watching Kobe playing, I always valued his commitment to the team, 20 years of career and he never left the Lakers, that's amazing.
I just want to say that, no matter what happens, Kobe will never be forgotten. Legends never die. Kobe made a legacy so huge that even 40 years from now people will be talking about him.
As the saying goes, you only truly die when the last person that remembers you die as well. Kobe is immortal, he will be immortalized in the basketball history. Such a tragedy man, I have no words to say. I send my regards and prayers for the Bryant family
