  • It's no secret that everyone wants to cut down their morning routine and look their best, and that's why dry shampoo is such a useful tool. But if you don't use it correctly, it can leave your hair looking dull or even appear white.
    To avoid this dreaded white cast, stylist Caitie Kennedy is here to show us the right way to use dry shampoo. We start with Redken's award-winning Deep Clean Dry Shampoo, which is designed to absorb oil and add volume without leaving a powdery residue.
    To start, Caitie recommends shaking the bottle before spraying it on your roots. This will evenly distribute the product and ensure that it's evenly distributed. Then, hold the can 8-10 inches away from your hair and spray the product in a zig-zag motion.
    Next, Caitie uses her fingertips to massage the product into her roots to blend it into the hair more easily. Lastly, she uses a brush or comb to evenly distribute the product throughout her hair. This will help to ensure that your hair looks natural and has a nice, voluminous look.

      Dry shampoo is best used in between washes to soak up oils at the roots. We recommend using it as needed 1-2 days after wash day!

    I've never used dry shampoo before. After youve put the spray on the roots, how does it get to go on the rest of the hair to the ends?

      We recommend applying the dry shampoo at your roots to soak up any excess oils. 😃

    Would this be useful for cornrows or dreadlocks? They can't be combed but they can be patted with a dry cloth

    Yes, but I have 2b waves and can't brush my hair.
    Using my fingers to try to comb it through makes it feel thick and gross.
    What is a wavy/curly girl suppose to do?! 😕

      Hi Tiana, happy to help- we recommend using a detangler in your hair at night and gently using a wide tooth comb to detangle before adding any other products or stylers. We'll link one of our favorite leave-ins below!

    What about the oil that’s in the hair that’s not at the roots?

    • @user-uc2zm8uv3u
      @user-uc2zm8uv3u  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great question, dry shampoo works best at soaking up excess oil in between washes at the root. It's best applied at the root and worked into the areas that it's needed.

    Where did the powder go? Just disappeared...?

    • @nikirrae8495
      @nikirrae8495 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It soaks up the extra oils then you brush it out. A lot of dry shampoos still show the white residue of the powders though so a lot of people with dark hair struggle finding dry shampoos.

    I have color treated hair (I am a brunette but dyed my hair a burgundy color) and a very oily scalp just wondering how long I should leave it in and which direction to comb or brush my hair (under or over)?
