Naruto and Boruto are similar in many ways, but in a majority of ways, they couldn’t be more different. Naruto was always neglected and this caused him to crave attention and to be almost overly protective of the bonds he could make. On the other hand, Boruto was a brat, and he never needed to struggle for attention. He was the son of the Hero of the Leaf, as well as Hokage. He never needed to struggle for the love he got, and as such, became slightly spoiled. I won’t deny the growth Boruto has displayed in the series, but he was a real work in progress. He is far more mature than Naruto, but early on didn’t take being a Shinobi seriously. He was prideful and had no care for teamwork, believing the only power required would be his own. And when his power was not enough, he wouldn’t be above using something considered cheating to achieve his goals. While Boruto eventually grows out of this, the start is important, because we’re going to be making Boruto and Naruto trade places. Boruto will take Naruto’s place in Part 1 and 2 of the original Naruto series, while Naruto takes Boruto’s place in The Next Generation series. Let’s see how it affects the series from this point on.

I don’t know how many time I have to say this to people the shadow clone Justu and clone jutsu are different things Sakura states in ep 5 part 1 that clone jutsu is what was in the academy exam that Naruto failed in ep 1 the clone jutsu is basically clone illusions as Sakura showed in her fight against ino shadow clones are physical clones that can actually hit people and can physically touch objects which is what separates the two I’m not hating or anything it just gets me mad when people confuse the two
And in this time line boruto would do the bare minimum to pass the genin meaning Boruto never learns shadow clones, just having the clone jutsu (which I think he could do by training a bit since kurama is restricting his chakra control).
And as Boruto doesn't have the shadow clones or any elemental release as no one would teach him including kakashi (as he didn't with Sasuke), Boruto whose also physically weaker than naruto would be fodderized by everyone in the show.
bro, I feel you. Shadow clones and clone jutsu are definitely different. Shadow clones are the real deal, while clone jutsu are just illusions. Gotta get that distinction right.

I don’t know if you have or haven’t watched part 1 of Naruto but shadow clones aren’t what Naruto had an issue with it was specifically the bushin(clone) technique. They are very different, a shadow clone has substance and a physical form. The bushin(clone) that Naruto was having trouble with was a basic illusion that can’t fight and has no physicality. The reason Naruto had such a hard time with it was that he quite literally had too much chakra and too little control. It’s even heavily suspected that he might have so much chakra that he could never use the bushin(clone) technique.
I’m sorry for the essay but someone needs to tell you difference because it’s why Naruto failed the test initially.

If boruto had the same body as naruto nothing would change, I assume its that boruto has the same genetics as he does in Canon but he's living naruto's life instead of his own.

Facts
Not really, boruto would have more chalra control but I stress boruto would have 0 affinity training or technique like naruto he wouldn't even know what they are.
Boruto would be a master of taijutsu naturally and chakra control even with kurama which nerfs that he'd still be above anyone except sasuke. Sasuke and boruto would be rivals in the academy but because boruto basically has no motivation to train he'd train probably less than naruto did. Boruto is also innately smart but with no hinata teaching him he's only above average in his class in terms of iq.
But as boruto never struggles in the academy that means boruto could perform a normal clone e rank and pass having not stolen the scroll and learned the shadow clones.
With no shadow clones the land of waves are a lot harder for everyone it changes with the mirrors as boruto and sasuke would be hit more often and boruto would be forced to go rage mode way earlier punching haku.
Haku would still die as well as zabuza nothing really changes until training of the chuuin exams kakashi dumps boruto on ebisu and boruto learns water walking and summoning jutus much quicker than naruto did still having to tap into the fox's power and with the rest of the time he physically trains.
Boruto would lose against neji not having shadow clones.

@@aq7a22 yes but the clones taught in the academy are not shadow clones, because they are not solid and cannot deal damage. Also anything more than a single shadow clone falls under the category of the multi shadow clone jutsu if im not mistaken.

umm amagi i cant help but notice that boruto can still only make 4 clones in this what if. i think that kinda doesnt make much sense boruto should have a WHOLE lot more chakra than he did in canon hes a jinchuriki and is also half uzumaki unlike in canon where he is only atleast 25% uzumaki and since genetics play a huge role in dictating how huge ur chakra reserve is initially i find it hard to believe that boruto can still only make 4 shadow clones in this what if. is there something else stopping him from making more at once?
If boruto did get the genetics of naruto nothing would actually change, chakra control is tied with genetics just as much as reserves are. And even if that's not true and bortuo got naruto reserves boruto would be weaker than naruto is as his chakra control is worse than naruto if the same level of chakra is equalised.
@@nani4249 how can borutos Chakra control be worse than Naruto they should be at the same level in Chakra control naruto never rlly trained his control until he became genin and Kakashi made him tree climb. The shadow clone technique does not require Chakra control to use it just requires large chakra reserves that's why it's a forbidden jutsu because without the chakra reserves of atleast jonin using it would kill u from chakra exhaustion.....naruto could spam them cause he had chakra reserves greater than a kage at that point and it should be the almost the same case for boruto
@dawnraxplays2706 I idea that naruto and sasuke learned the tree walking skill relatively at the same rate goes to show narutos chakra control is high.
Just as you say naruto didn't train however somewhat kept to with sasuke who had been training since he was 6. Boruto started his training very young and before the land of waves boruto had done probably 10 or more times training than naruto had done, so boruto without that training plus having kurama plus having at least 4 or 5 times more reserve would for me place boruto chakra control especially if he doesn't train in it below even narutos. Of course head canon but your basically reducing boruto chakra control by 5 times given those circumstances. (Compared to what bortuo was in canon when he left the academy).
Tbh this is just Naruto’s story all over again with slight changes to the pretty much same end goal

How they can be just switched and why Boruto will be have his personality, just because? I mean Naruto and Boruto became who they are cause of the environment, while they was kids mostly, so if we just name Naruto Boruto and gave him his looks it be just another Naruto cause his childhood didnt changes if compare to one Naruto had. But maybe you want change a lot of things to make Boruto-Naruto there a golden boy with alive Minato and Kushina and etc, to make him more like he was in original timeline with Naruto and Hinata.
