It strangely reminds me of Tucson..
This has the styling of a Traverse and Terrain. The headlights are Hyundai like. The Equinox finally got the interior it needed, but the 1.5L is still underpowered. At least the AWD comes with a 8 speed.
It’s either this or potentially the new Envision for me. Unless I can be convinced of something better.

I think it looks too much like chevy dragged the dimensions of the Trax out in a design that looks good in a compact suv but not a midsized family vehicle
It doesn't look like it has any identity, which is something that I though chevy vehicles always had until recently when they unveiled the 2025 Tahoe and suburban
Why did headlights stop being a design feature on cars and all just become these squinty slim LED strips?
That’s because these are DRLs and the actual headlights are down below. The DRLs are quite bright though, but that’s not always the case for all vehicles.

As far as looks are concerned, this is hands-down a huge improvement over the previous generation. The outgoing equinox looks like a cobblestone on wheels.
Excellent video. Coming from a 4Runner, I do like the design changes. My only problem is that dealers in the mid-west only seem to stock them with black interiors... a deal breaker for me.

I agree with most of your comments. The old exterior design still holds up pretty well, which is probably why it's still selling so well, but I don't like the shape of the window after the C pillar. The new design (to me) looks like a grown-up, beefier Trax --- which is a good thing. Even the new interior looks like a nicer version of the Trax. I agree with you that the AWD is the way to go in order to avoid the CVT... and I also wish that it had 200 HP... or at least 220 lbs.-feet of torque. I like the exterior look of the EV version even better, but this one is acceptable to me. But I think Chevy could have saved some $ by offering the same styling on both the EV & ICE models. That way, maybe they could have used the savings to offer a hybrid version as well!
They should just give the blazer a v8 lower it and call it a day.

I am not a fan of the back passenger windows. They might grow on me over time with a two tone color (red and black).
The problem with the equinox now is the blazer. The equinox looks like a blazer. The blazer offers more luxury and power though. These will be highly sought after in rental agencies.

The 2025 looks so much better than the current. The current Equinox looks like a boring grocery getter for a lady who just started her retirement. I am extremely disappointed that the FWD model has a CVT. I don't need AWD, but I don't want a CVT. I feel like Chevy adds unnecessary downgrades to all of their vehicles to make you get an additional package that you do not want. I have a 2023 Blazer LT now and really like it, but the decision to put that ugly gray/silver plastic trim on the front and rear bumper is exactly what I am talking about. It doesn't fit the color scheme and the only way to not have it is to upgrade to an RS or Premium. You also can't paint it or wrap it because it is textured plastic.

The Malibu and 2023 traverse are my favorite Chevy cars. Trucks look nice and so does the bolt… overall good designs just mediocre engineering.

I'm sure Chevy could've squeezed more power out of that 1.5T. This all-new model certainly looks bigger and heavier. After all, Hyundai can get 200hp out of a 1.6T and Toyota 300hp out of the same displacement with one less cylinder.
I disagree on power, this is a soccer mom car that will spend most of its life in parking lots, purchased by people who don’t care about cars and only care about “upright visibility” and “ease of getting in and out.” Well, and of course tech features. I think the rugged tires look dumb, especially for what this vehicle is and the demographic of people who will buy them.
Maybe I’m being a bit harsh, but I’m tired of crossovers and SUVs and I think we’ve reached our peak and it’s quite honestly boring. It’s time we come up with a more interesting solution to automotive mobility. Trucks and SUVs aren’t it.

Motorcycles have more power than this- seems bizarre when EV’s have So much more Performance and modern styling compared to this.
