  • We're The People Series Feat. Chad Kackert
    Season 2 | Episode 4
    About.
Chad Kackert lives in Dallas, TX where he trains and coaches CrossFit. Growing up in Simi Valley, CA, Chad was a standout football player for the Grace Brethren Lancers. His talents and hard work led him to compete in college, NFL, and CFL, where he led the Toronto Argonauts to the 100th Grey Cup National Championship.
After having a devastating injury that kept him out for two years... Chad had been thinking more seriously about what life would look like after football. While training for what would probably be his last season of playing professionally... His friend invited him to try CrossFit.
And, without knowing it at the time, that was the moment his life would change for the better.
“So, when I left I realized, ‘Hey… What if it’s okay to be wrong?’ And that was the shift… That was the paradigm shift… Where it was like… Instead of being so stuck to what you’ve been told why don’t you just open your mind? And if you’re wrong you might actually learn something…” - Chad Kackert

As a life long Toronto Argonaut fan, I can truly say that I have never cheered for a player as much as I did for Chad Kackert. I wanted him to get the ball on every down. He proved himself as one of the best in that Grey Cup game. Football is a mean sport and many careers are cut short. I hope he does well in whatever he does in life.

I remember playing against Chad in high school. Definitely the best running back I ever played against. Good luck with the rest of your life Chad.

Very cool and that's a nice compliment for Chad. What high school did you go to? We both went to Grace Brethren.

Very cool and inspirational video. Always great to see anyone, particularly former pro athletes, find another purpose and path after their careers are over
