I would assume that the parents or at least the mom is the same race so it wouldn't be uncommon for them.
theHedgex1 I don’t think that’s the case. No one in the vampire girls family are vampires, everyone is a normal human. The “monster” girl trait is kinda just something that randomly occurs, like an albino or a disabled child.
One of the most wholesome anime I’ve seen. Do yourself a favour and please watch this, it’ll definitely not fail to put a smile onto your face!

I've always had alot of love and respect for how they did machis animations, they always made sure in just about all her scenes her hands moved her head to respond to the appropriate action instead of just not moving at all or making it seem like her head is moving without it being moved with scene transitions and stuff, like most dullahans in other animes are

Funny fact, Takahashi spent years hoping for a chance to meet a Demi for his studies, without ever realising his niece was a Demi that he had constant access to.

To be fair she is completely the same as a human outside of a few specific scenarios.
It’s really interesting. I took a few years of Japanese. It’s so refreshing to hear the more casual and natural manner of conversing over what learns from books.
This show deserve so much more attention 😩🤔
The writing in this show is amazing! Such great humor, gags and jokes! And Hikari is just way too goddamn cute 🤗 Really wish the dub could be available too, just from an English speakers perspective.
god it has to be terrifying to give birth to a dullahan. “THE BABY IS DECAPITATED BUT ITS STILL SCREAMING” actually if the head is smaller than the rest of the body and nothing is holding it up wouldnt it just slip out really prematurely? no wonder they are so rare.
Or it would fall out screaming and the body could get stuck in there. Or the body could come out and they have to fish out the head
They’re probably born completely attached and their heads come off at a certain age. Since it’s a genetic mutation, some don’t show themselves at birth.
The head comes first.
This show is so much fun to watch :)

It is! I miss it. Introducing the Invisible Girl at the end of the final episode gave me hope for a second season. Hopefully someday it will happen.

I love it when I randomly stumble upon an Animes first episode that I watched months ago cause the intro wakes up a couple of butterflies in my stomach, which can’t wait to make me feel tons of feelings that slept in the past.
