Surprised by the bad reviews. I've been using it for a month now and it is working really well and easily, no cuts at all and a close shave. Very happy with it. It's also a 'Which?' recommended shaver.
I honestly don’t understand why so many people speak poorly of this electric razor, I just used it on my head and was really impressed with the results and I still have a pretty full head of hair, I shave my head because I don’t like my hairline and this was almost as close a shave as a safety razor with barely any effort needed. Maybe people are too picky or maybe there’s a better one out there but I found it to be a great shave and am super happy with the results.
I completely agree. I purchased this model 3 months ago; since i travel extensively for work I just don't have the time to wet shave daily. The Braun 5 is fantastic, not only does it provide an extremely close shave (and I have very coarse facial hair) the price point is spot on!
It is the appropriate tool for me.....i am completely and truly bored of razors...even today i cut myself in several spots no matter how much careful i was....
Great for the sides of the face. The under neck is a big problem and I have sensitive skin. Try it out let me know. I find my Gillette razor is my best bet.
Idk. but i feel like im using it wrong. I need a LOT of pressure for it to do anything to my beard or any hair on my body at all. Also, even with a lot of pressure it takes up to 20 strokes for a clean shave to be visible. Any tips?
i am having the same problem, and i think the problem is that we arent using the correct head for the head. i think if you want a clean shave you’re going to have to use the precision trimmer that is shown at 1:50, but im not sure yet i will lyk how switching it goes
This shaver does not do anything for me, I got 1 for Christmas and it didn't shave anything so we sent it back and got another one and it still didn't shave anything
chances are u might be new to using electric razors, like i was. i also thought my braun series 5 didnt work properly cuz it wasnt shaving anything, until i looked more into electric razors. for starters it wont work on longer beards, you have to have it shorter since the blades only cut whatever hair it catches. so longer facial hair will be more flat and it’ll be more difficult for the electric razor to shave it. also, you have to go over it a few times, it wont give a clean shave in one go. in general i think electric razors are more for shorter hair and maintenance, but for longer beards you’ll bascially have to go with a classic razor. my facial hair was very long when i first tried my braun series 5. however i found personally when i shaved it manually, let it grow for 3-4 days and tried my braun again, it worked nearly perfectly. could be just my experience but hopefully i provided some more insight on this :)
@@justgivemeonesecthat what happened with me..I had a 2weeks beard and it was a nightmare shaving it with this product and my face is now full of bruises…Anyway prefer manual razor ,it is less complicated and specially Less Messy…Using this shaver hair was all over the sink and counter🫤(am a picky person!)
Works soso its ok for daily maintaining but once it grows more than a day u need to trim it with the trimming head before u switch to the shaving head but it still misses spots
My first experience with this Braun Series5 was a nightmare and my face full of bruises even though I was using Edge shaving gel…Should say that I am used to the manual razor and I had a 2 weeks beard !I had to switch to the precision trimmer to finish my shaving.Not impressed at all by this product.The only positive thing is it was excellent to remove hair around my ears!Also it was so messy the whole sink and counter were full of hair…
Bought it to replace my 10 years old Braun Series 3 330. Unfortunately the old one after 10 years of working, without replacing the blades even once shave much MUCH closer and faster than this new Series 5... I'm disappointed Braun. 10 years of developement just to make things worse.

Obviously this missfit in the video won’t be using this shaver in real life since they obviously all lie to advertise junk .just Panasonic buy an arch 5 for 80 without its cleaning station the arch 5 was the series 9 rival and it suppose to cut closer then a series 9 .i only own the series 9 pro but many prefer the arch 5 but if you have very sensitive the arch 5 ain’t for you and with an arch 5 it will struggle after 3 day growth from what I seen people but if you once every day or every 2 days it’s be better .the bruan series 9 pro cuts 7 days Growth but after 6 months it will struggle because blades go blunt quick am on month 11 and need new blade already but am thinking about getting the Panasonic arch 6 but the arch 5 is not far off from the arch 6 that I been told but I prefer the look of the arch 6

Great shaver for me! I’m a fan after my Philips always falls apart after a year of use.

i didnt get all the attachments, only the precision trimmer and i paid 40$ exptra just for that

Still use a straight razor and gives best shave without cuts if you learn how to use it. Hot towel, cream can’t beat it!

Your hair growth may have been too much. It only works on short stubble.

Lol I reacted so bad using this on my face and secondly tried using it to shave some hair off my foot and stomach and doesn't do anything at all.
I would instantly buy it if only it had a sliding trimmer ... It's a NO from me.
Had high hopes but its bad. Doesn't cut; it pulls. Very torturous.
Just got this razor. Dont waste your money. It really sucks. Hair on my neck is still there doesn't cut . Buy something else

The instruction booklet is the worse for sight impaired people so i would stay away until they correct this, they may never correct this.
